He's back

I grew up in reading Dick Francis and I relished every chapter. 'Even money' was no disappointment, Felix will bring a new generation along to the race course. The narrator (performer) Martin Jarvis is excellent. This is a wonderful story, beautifully told.

Even Money is a good bet

It's been quite a few years since I read Dick Francis. I'm happy I returned for this one by Dick and Felix Francis. The numerous subplots are mostly believable and keep the reader's interest. One also learns the ins and outs of bookmaking at English race tracks and in betting parlors.

My only quibble is with the narrator, who was very good but sounded much older than the 37 year old protagonist he was supposed to be and also sounded a bit more upper class than I would have imagined the typical English bookie.

All things considered, I am very glad that I purchased Even Money. If you like Dick Francis, I believe you will find Even Money a good bet.

Quite Good

Don't let the detractors wave you off of this book. It's quite good. As all Francis books (Dick and Felix) the story is thrilling and will teach you about a part of horse racing you might not know about. Defiantly worth a listen and a credit. Jarvis is amazing.

Always a winner

I always enjoy listening to Dick Francis' work on audiobook because his writing style translates so nicely into narration. I always know I will have a good audiobook for a long trip when Francis comes out with another novel. Martin Jarvis does a great job narrating the book.

unusual for the genre but excellent none the less

this one is from the Viewpoint of the book maker versus the jockey so that is a refreshing new take on Dick Francis novels
