Story
Riley has crossed the bridge into the afterlife - a place called Here, where time is always Now. She has picked up life where she left off when she was alive, living with her parents and dog in a nice house in a nice neighborhood. When she’s summoned before The Council, she learns that the afterlife isn’t just an eternity of leisure. She’s been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a possibly cute, seemingly nerdy boy who’s definitely hiding something.

Natasha Clarke is an overlooked, too-snarky-for-her-own-good high school junior when she’s invited to Arcana, a mysterious nightclub. As she walks through the darkened rooms, admiring masked partygoers, gilded artwork, and clocks that tick backward, she comes across something startling: a tombstone with her name written on it. “To new beginnings,” says a gorgeous boy in a mask. When Natasha wakes the next day, her life has changed completely, twisting down a path that leads to Gray Wolf Academy.

Yesterday I was a teenager waiting tables in Manhattan, and today, monsters exist and I can see them. Overnight I’m thrown into the realm of the Watchers, a society of earthbound angels split into two factions: the Shades, whose powerful dark magic is given to them by the fallen angels, and the Lumens, whose abilities are bestowed on them by the archangels of Avalon. They’re on opposite sides of a brutal war, and I only have a few days to pick which side I want to join. I’m ready to choose when the Shades force my hand by cursing someone I love.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Horrible
Would you try another book from Alyson Noel and/or Katie Schorr?
No.
Has Everlasting turned you off from other books in this genre?
Believe it or not...no. I'm a sucker for first love stories.
Have you listened to any of Katie Schorr’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. I think Katie has a lovely voice.
What character would you cut from Everlasting?
Romey and Rain are tedious.
Any additional comments?
Awful. Shame on me for buying this one.

The End
This series started really strong, but after book 3 I just really felt obligated to finish them all. I am glad this series is over. However, I did enjoy this book more than the last couple. Damen, though Ever loves him, is a horrible character in my opinion. He is controlling and manipulative, not giving Ever any benefit of the doubt, not willing to truly listen to her thoughts and ideas on what they should do to solve the problems that they have created for themselves. When she goes ahead and does what she knows is right, without his blessing, she is triumphant. She has her faults, but she is a smart and strong young woman who perseveres.

Horrible Series
The book started off good in book 1 and downhill after that. I couldn't stand Ever by the last book. How many times can she shrug, roll her eyes or nibble her lip? I'm glad the series is finished. Katie Schorr did a great job as the narrator.

Mediocrity Has Merit
Taken as a whole the conclusion to The Immortals only manages to slightly rise above mediocre. I would probably rate the book 3.5 if given the option. Pacing issues abound and some of the directions the plot takes are baffling. I must agree with the previous reviewer that Damen is pretty controlling, manipulative, and unwilling to believe in Ever. I've thought since his introduction that Jude is a better interest for Ever. It wasn't all bad, obviously, I was pleased with how everything managed to conclude. I don't think I would have the patience to slog through the series again, however.

Great imagination,
I love how the author send us a shock in every single chapter, on how explicit she was in describing everything that ever saw! On how she developed trough out the book! And how Damen show fear, on how the the rules change in the last book! Having Ever be the one that was confident, and believe and also courage to do what she had to do while Damen doesn't believe and wasn't sure. I really like this book because at the end they finally got together not just in the way the water but also for eternity! And not the one leaving for ever, but the one and only one, by souls!!

Great series!
The 6th book is a great surprise! I thought that it would be exactly the same as the other books. But it turned out to wrap everything up nicely without being the same type of thing happening! I very much enjoyed this series! Start to finish in 2 weeks!
The narration was wonderful, and listening to it on 2.25 speed was perfect. Start slower and work your way up!
I won't give away any of the book, but you definitely need to listen to this book series it was great!
Though in the end I did feel kind of silly being so caught up in a teen-fiction book as I am 25. what can I say haha!
This definitely needs to become a movie or SHALL I say, movies!
If there was a way to cut costs, by maybe not owning the book but renting it at a cheaper price on Audible would be the way to go! Thank you!

An Everlasting Tale
The Immortal series is one of my favorite young adult paranormal romance series. Listening to it on audiobook was a little treat in my day. Each book builds upon the next, and the emerging love story lasts a long time on my mind after finishing the books.
