Publisher's Summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Corinne Michaels comes a new story in her Salvation series...

I was poised to become partner at my law firm even before I became secretly engaged to my boss. After being humiliated by him on my wedding day, I can’t face working for him any longer. So I quit, waving my middle finger on my way out.

Now the only things I’m poised for are unemployment and loneliness.

When an opportunity with Cole Security arises, it seems like the perfect way to run, all the way to Virginia Beach. I wasn’t expecting my childhood sweetheart to be there. I definitely wasn’t prepared that when we saw each other again, Benjamin Pryce would be so grown-up. So gorgeous. So Navy SEAL-ish.

And still the same guy who broke my heart when I was fifteen - and could do it again.

They say if you’re fooled once, shame on them. The second time, it’s on you. The third time, it’s going to be me that runs...unless he can convince me to stay forevermore.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new listeners, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Gretchen deserved more

there wasn't as much effort put into the story as other characters and that's a shame. also the narrators weren't the best choice sometimes the emotions didn't match the way they said it. the female was also too whiny in some spots.

Another great albeit TOO short book

I love all of CM’s stories, but I wish this had been longer and more detailed.
The female narrators voice was whiny and too nasal ( Kat’s) at times, but the male was good.

Too short

Glad to hear Gretchen’s story but wish it was a full novel rather than a novella.

Disappointed

Narrators are not near as good as the others who narrated the other Salvation Series! Very disappointed.

I may attempt to read the book and see if I can enjoy reading it instead of listening to it.

Don’t do it. Skip this one!!!

I have listened to 3 of Corrine Michael’s series. I have enjoyed them all. While I may have enjoyed some characters and storylines more than others I enjoyed them all. This one thou - Don’t WASTE your time or money on it. The female reader is awful. Poor voice casting. She sounds like an old hag, which didn’t endear mean to the character. Plus her delivery sucked! Little to no character Develoment or plot other than two people falling in love. Nor does it advance, enrich or add to the Salvation series. I believe you can skip this book and move in to the next duet in the series and you wouldn’t miss a thing. Anything of importance will be recapped in the next book snd that’s probably only that Gretchen & Ben are married. Hard to care about them since they add so little to the series other than marrying all the gals off. Such a disappointment.

Upside I only had to listen to that awful female voice fir a few hours - if it hadn’t been so short I wouldn’t have made it through. And I only did because I was afraid I’d miss something important, but no, not a thing. Can’t get that time or money back. Bummer!

it was ok

I'm sorry for the review, but when you change characters at the end of a series, it's not the same.

Disappointing! All aspects of this story fail to deliver. Weak story line, under developed plot and poor voice performances.

Corinne, you write wonderful.stories!

I love this Novella, it takes hardship, heartbreak,
for two people to connect a second time.
Great narration by Jason Clarke and
Virginia Rose.

Much too short of a storyline. Wish it had followed the other books in the series...felt like an afterthought

I Wish We Could've Seen More of Gretchen and Ben

Corinne Michaels’s “Evermore,” a Salvation series novella that appears in one of the 1001 Dark Nights anthologies, is a short story that brings old high school friends (and secret crushes) Ben and Gretchen back together after years of separation. Ben is a strong, sexy, and intelligent former SEAL who works for Cole Security, and he reunites with the beautiful and brilliant Gretchen, one of Catherine’s (from Books 1 & 2) best friends and an attorney who was recently left at the altar on her wedding day, when she is hired by the company to help with some research. This novella comes in right after Mark and Charlie’s story, so we get to “visit” with all the rest of the Salvation series regulars, which I absolutely love! My only criticism is that I wish we got more for Gretchen and Ben’s story than a novella. It isn’t that it felt lacking - only that it didn’t seem to get the same build-up as the others. As to the audio performances, while I really enjoyed Jason Clarke's narration of this story, I am not sure that Virginia Rose really conveyed Gretchen's personality very well.

I have loved the series and this novella has made it complete unless Corinne wants to give us Arabella .Thank you do much for the loving and happy endings even if the suspense earlier nearly killed me
Thank you Corinne 👍🏻💚
