Story
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Publisher's Summary
From New York Times best-selling author Mary Monroe comes a seductive, shocking tale of two unhappy women fulfilling their every erotic dream - and finding a desire that kills.
He's successful, kind, and sensitive - the type of man every woman wants. And truck driver Calvin Ramsey just loves women - especially the lonely, unappreciated ones he meets online, like Lola Poole. His deceitful ex-wife taught him that women really appreciate someone who cares about their deepest feelings and problems.
Since Lola always gives more than she gets, Calvin longs to show her the best of everything. And when he gives her the ultimate parting gift, just like he did his wife and all the others, he'll love Lola best of all.
Lola Poole is so done putting her life on hold for her selfish relatives' needs. Now, thanks to online dating and a sizzling parade of hungry lovers, she and her unhappily married best friend, Joan, are getting all the sexy fun they missed out on. Even better, handsome, dependable Calvin looks like he might be the whole irresistible potential-husband package. Until oh-so-right starts going all-the-way wrong. And Lola must uncover the truth and take control before this fatal fantasy finishes her.

Disappointed
I'm a long time Monroe fan so I usually just buy her books without doing much research. After the book ended I was confused so I went and read the description and then wondered if my download didn't include the entire book. After reading other reviews I see that I'm not alone and this isn't one of her best.

Long and drawn out
Struggled to finish. I did so only to see how it would end and the only thing that happened is a guaranteed second installment. there was absolutely no reason for this book not to be finished in one novel. It's long enough and the story's not interesting enough to keep it going

Reading this book was like watching paint dry.
This book was slow...and boring throughout. I was pretty disappointed but i was forced to finish the book so that i didn't waste my money. Reading the description of the book then listening to the book was quite confusing. Over half of the book was about these girls in their childhood which had absolutely nothing to do with the description. I almost thought that i was reading the wrong thing. I kept hoping that it would get better--but it didn't. I guess you live and you learn.

Loved Lola
This book is okay. The title doesn't really fit it but the main characters are great. I like the narrator for Lola's voice. She helped the story flow better I think. Anyway there will be a part 2 so hopefully it'll come sooner rather later. I gave high marks because Mary Monroe never disappoints. There's a method to her approach.
