Critic Reviews

"Lawyer Scottoline's first novel is an engaging, quick read, sprinkled with corny humor and melodrama in just the right proportions." (Publisher's Weekly)

Not convincing

Oh dear, a short and insubstantial story. Lots of really good leads but after David Hewson, Michael Connolly and so many others this lacked both style and depth.. It might be the first of a series, but on the basis of this I won't be wasting my precious credits on this author again. It wasn't even redeemed by the narrator who decided that everyone seemed to have a sore throat or an attitude.

Terribly disappointing

The narrator is absolutely DREADFUL. So monotone throughout the book. The story itself is quite predictable
