Publisher's Summary

Cruella De Vil is the perfect villain: stylish, witty, relentless...and possibly cursed. From her lonely childhood, to her iconic fashion choices, to that fateful car crash (you know the one), Cruella tells all in this marvelous memoir of a woman doomed. Even the cruelest villains have best friends, true loves, and daring dreams. Now it's Cruella's turn to share hers.

This latest novel by the author of the wildly popular and darkly fascinating Villains series brings listeners a tale told by the Evil Thing herself - a tale of the complicated bonds of female friendship, of mothers and daughters, and of burning, destructive desire. After all, nothing is as simple as black and white.

Not worth listening to

I love all Serena’s books but this one. I was so disappointed in the story. And the reader got on my nerves right away. But I pushed myself through it. It doesn’t connect to the other villains like the other books. Just a mention of them. Really disappointed.

Absolutely distinguishing!

This was probably one of my favorites so far in the series! I'm not even a Cruella fan, but I loved it!

good as a stand alone.

I enjoyed the story. I was sad it didn't connect to the previous ones as each one did. I was interested in the friendship mentioned with cruella and the 3 sisters.

A let down

I loved all of the other books in this series. The change in narrator and slow pace of this book just didn't fit. The story felt like it went on forever and yet went nowhere in the end. I can see the vision she had in mind but 95% of the book was building up to an end that just didn't connect right.

Not at all what I expected

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Serena’s villain series and could not wait till the new ones were out on audible. With that said, this installment does not come close to the storyline of her previous tales. Not only that it’s pretty much a retelling of the story you already know that it’s. There is no interesting twist even though it’s retold from the pov of Cruella. I finished the book with several questions, each time I thought I would get an answer there was none. The book also ended feeling very incomplete. I am now very hesitant of reading/ listening to the next one.
I do think the reader did a good job channeling the character but the voice was just not my taste. It was very cringy for me in some parts.

I have loved all of Valentinos books but this one.

this was hard to get into, and hard to stay focused on the storyline. I also didn't like the storyline. I would not recommend this one at all. I would have given it a half a star if I could.
