Story
There are times when life feels like it has you cornered: financial difficulties, relationship issues, work problems, all of the above. Every one of us, at one time or another, will have to face up to the challenges that come our way. And there are two ways of meeting them: negatively, where blame is the answer, where other people are at fault, where you haven’t been treated fairly. Or positively, where you own the situation, learn and grow from it and become a better person at the end of it.

To become the best bowhunter of wild elk, to the caliber he believed he could be, Cam realized he would need more than archery skills.

Publisher's Summary
More than half a million copies sold.
An updated edition of the blockbuster leadership book that took America and the world by storm.
In Extreme Ownership, Jocko Willink and Leif Babin share hard-hitting, Navy SEAL combat stories that translate into lessons for business and life.
Jocko and Leif served together in SEAL Task Unit Bruiser, the most highly decorated Special Operations unit from the war in Iraq. Through those difficult months of sustained combat, Jocko, Leif and their SEAL brothers learned that leadership - at every level - is the most important thing on the battlefield. Now they teach these same leadership principles to companies throughout the business world that want to build their own high-performance, winning teams.
Extreme Ownership explains the SEAL leadership concepts crucial to accomplishing the most difficult missions in combat and how to apply them to any group, team, or organization. It provides the reader with Jocko and Leif's formula for success: the mindset and guiding principles that enable SEAL combat units to achieve extraordinary results. It demonstrates how to apply these directly to business and life to likewise achieve victory.
Take Extreme Ownership. Lead and win.

Best information, well read. Get some!
Jocks and Leif narrate their book passionately and energetically as if you are there in the room with them. The stories of their service linked with leadership lessons and practical examples they learned, then bought into other fields to show the lessons and tactics work in any area.
I listened to the book over a week or so and had to buy the book as well, just so I could go and mark notes! Great leadership training tool that is amazing and interesting. Thanks guys!

Take away lessons for every person.
Jocko and Leif apply a wealth of wisdom gleaned from years spent as effective seal operators and military professionals.
For a civil designer without a military background; I easily understood the principles set out in the book. Implementing them to my everyday routines as I progressed through the book made it a quick listen - as I found myself up every day at 4.30am with plenty of time up my sleeve.
I still hear the authors voices echoing in my head still.
Appreciate the content, and highly recommend.

Outstanding, an actual 'Good Times' read
As a former military officer I thought the modern generation of leadership training would have moved on from what I was taught over two decades ago, it hasn't, just the basics refined and enhanced (with better toys in support).
In my current role as a C suite executive this book served as a reminder of how these military principles should be applied in the coroporate world.
On a personal note, the recollection of training and combat actions bought back memiories. Often I found myself smiling and nodding in agreement.
Great job lads!

Extremely Good Book
If you could sum up Extreme Ownership in three words, what would they be?
Get after it
What other book might you compare Extreme Ownership to, and why?
This book is in a category of its own!
What about Jocko Willink and Leif Babin ’s performance did you like?
Both Jocko & Leif have a lot of conviction in there voices.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me re-think previous situation I have been in and how I can improve my reactions in the future.
Any additional comments?
Being ex-military I have found no better information on how to transfer skills to the civilian sector. THIS BOOK SHOULD BE MANDATORY READING FOR DISCHARGING SOLDIERS.

70% of every chapter is glorifying their heroism
I found this book a big waste of time. they keep talking and talking and talking about their heroic stories, and just the last 30% of every chapter is a meaningful applicable lesson. seriously, there are book whose writers are straight to the point with no fluffing around, like Atomic habits. This book however, is not one of them.
if you'd like to listen to endless stories however, you might enjoy it. I didn't.

90% war talk 10% leadership principles
Lots of rubbish about the Irak invasion for example in a 40 min chapter you get 32min of rubbish war/invasion talk and 8 min of leadership applied in business.
Returned it, couldn't finish it.
Good presentation by authors though
30min summary would suffice

For kids
Really, using examples of a bogus war for leadership lessons is as bad as it gets
The examples are childish. Book is just heavy on military details with a significant amount of jargon
If you know anything about leadership skip this one. 20 mins of useable text stream over 9 hours.

The usual US Military
This book certainly isn’t bad, it has many practical points, however it takes a long time to get the point that relates to business.
Be prepared to hear how amazing the US armed forces are, over and over again. Just when you may have forgotten how good they are, BOOM. They’ll tell you again.
Wait, and again.
