A prison where in addition to slave labor, my self-esteem is decimated every single day.

My life looks up when the fertility plant thief is brought into the cell next to mine. Yet before I can out him, I realize there is another, better way to escape not only the prison, but the vampires’ grasps forever.

hard to listen to

the narrator in this one was so off that it sounded like a whining child most of the time the story would have probably been good if the narration had been better.

same narrator as book 0

I just noticed all the books are done by the same narrator. I guess she is better than I thought. She just needed to fix how she did book 0 or lot more experience after the first book.

the narrator is terrible.

I can't even tell you if the story is any good because I couldn't make it past the first chapter. The narrator is monotone and severely lacking any emotion. I truly cannot listen to her read an entire book.

Great for older teen or young adult.

This was a good listen. Sometimes I would think the voice sounded to young and then it would make sense later but great all the way around.

So Far its a good story

I'm not quite done with the whole box set yet but I'm enjoying it.
I wasn't sure about the narrators at fist but as the story progressed and got familiar with the characters they fix.
I'm only half way with Book 3 and I can't wait to keep listening.
I will update my review once I'm finished with the whole series

A great series

I really enjoyed the series. However the narration could use some work. The story itself was great with lots of different characters. It also had some cool magic. The story starts with Peony & she has cool plant magic. Her master was always kind to her and she was grateful. Most vampires abused their property. One day her master asked her to create a fertility plant that would cause mating to become irresistible. He had a customer who had requested such a plant. So Peony diligently worked on it. Before she could give it to her master it was stolen. So Peony's master sent her to the fae prison. It was an awful place that preyed on your weaknesses & delivered cruel repercussions for those that disobeyed. The vampire guards were always drooling and staring at her neck. She was crushed at the thought of staying there. Then the thief that stole her plant was put in the cell next to her. It was frustrating her but she could do nothing. After getting to know Caleb he escaped from his cell. As Peony thought about his words and then knew he told her how to as well. so she did it and ended up in the fae realm. She made many friends & tr6ied to change her ways to become a better person. Then we met Vergee another who was sent to the fairy realm because of her mentalist powers. As Vergee & all the others who were rescued from the fae prison learned to use their magic they met evil King Peter. He was working with the Headmistress from the prison to create a fertility plant as well. The adventure to defeat the evil King was a great battle for Vergee, Peony & all the others. They worked with Onyx a vampire that helped free the faires from the prison. It was an epic adventure that has really cool magic and plenty of action. G7reat job of worldbuilding. A great read.

Skip the prequel, the rest is AMAZING

But seriously, skip the prequel. I listened to the first book previously on a free promo code and was thrilled to have them all bundled together. But the prequel is bad. I just don't care for Peonys story. There are so many Fae at the summer and winter court I would have rather heard. And the narrator does such a great job with Books 1 thru 3. She really brought Virgie to life. But narrating a whole book in that voice she created for Peony was a bad idea for whomever decided that. So just skip to book 1 and listen to Virgies story. I love the world the author created and all the different kinds of Fae. Highly reccomend the main books in this great series!

Very disappointed

The story is not well written and the narrator is very poor. She has absolutely no idea how to read the story and bring it to life. I barely got to chapter 3 before I just had to turn it off. I couldn’t listen to her awful accents and bad narration. Don’t waste your money on this.

Had to return this book

The story line was a little slow but I'm sure it would have got going sooner or later.
HOWEVER the narraters childish winning voice just did it for me and by chapter 6 I really couldn't tolerate any more, shame cos it had potential.

Excellent Series

Loved this wonderful story. Vampires, fae who escaped to earth now their servants, imprisoned escape back to the Fae Kingdom. Good versus evil. Love and hate. Everything to make a gripping tale. Well narrated, great character voices. Fantasy lovers this is a must read series
