Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Story
From the internationally best-selling author of the Sword of Truth series comes a new Richard and Kahlan novella. "They are the monsters under the bed when you are little, the shape just caught out of the corner of your eye when you thought you were alone, the shadow of something in a dark corner that surprises you and then isn't there. They stop you dead with a knot of unexpected terror in the pit of your stomach. I think that the star shift has brought us closer to their realm so that they now have the power to step into our world and hurt us."

Publisher's Summary
A Sister of the Dark captures Richard and takes him deep into the Old World, to the very heart of the Order, while his beloved Kahlan remains behind. Free because of Richard's sacrifice for her, but unwilling to abandon the cause of the Midlands, Kahlan violates not only prophecy but her last pledge to Richard, and raises an army against the advancing horde of the Imperial Order. Separated and fighting for their lives, Richard and Kahlan will be pushed to the limits of their endurance and tested in their love for one another.
Once again, the master storyteller weaves a riveting spell that will captivate even more fans for this incredible series.

One of the most inspiring books ever written
By the time I reached this book in Goodkind's series, my interest in the Sword of Truth was waning. I love the characters of Richard and Kahlan, but after hearing about how there never was a moment's peace and one thing after another going wrong, I was getting fed up. Temple of the Winds nearly killed me, but I saw everything getting better during Soul of Fire, only to have it end horrifically. Terry, give us a break! I want to see my heros happy for more than five minutes.
However, during the first pages of Faith of the Fallen, my faith in these books was renewed. Faith of the Fallen has become one of my favorite books of all time. The story of hope and perseverance is truly touching, showing readers that in the darkest of times, hope will always shine through. Richard's strength and Kahlan's courage prove that these two characters are the best the literary world has. Goodkind captures the essence of the human spirit and the woes we deal with in our world today. He sums it up perfectly stating, "Your life is yours alone. Rise up and live it." Never have there been better words to live by.
Technically, this book is fast paced and filled with action, although it is more hopeful than depressing. The plot is direct and the characters are engaging. Goodkind's writing is masterful.
Faith of the Fallen is the beacon of this series and urges the reader to continue on. You won't be disappointed to see Richard and Kahlan to the end.

Zedd is a vibrant Wizard!!!
My only complaint about this particular book is the horrendous, and I mean HORRENDOUS portrayal of Zedd. I have listened to all the books in this series (and have read them also), this guy makes the robot who read stone of tears sound like morgan freeman. Seriously, the constantly changing narrators is quite annoying. (I have wanted to say that since I started listening to the books.)
The story definitely reignites your passion back into the series and while the long winded diatribes are sometimes annoying the story is solid and brings you back to focus on the goals and ambitions of what Richard and Kahlan are trying to accomplish.

Probably the Best of the Bunch
This might be the best of Goodkind's books certainly as good if not better than the 1st one. The writing has improved since book 4 AND the reader fits the writing perfectly. It starts out slower and takes a while to develop but the 4th section (or mp3) that makes up the entire book is finishing with a bang.
I haven't even finished the book and I felt the need to write this review. Nice job Goodkind

The best sword of truth book so far!! Damn good!!!
If you could sum up Faith of the Fallen in three words, what would they be?
Never give up!!!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Richard,he always does the right thing.and then he will cut your hart out!!!! That BOY is BAD!!
Which character – as performed by John Kenneth – was your favorite?
Victor the blacksmith, his voice is the way I would have imagined him and it made the character.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
At the end when Richard and Kahlan meet after a year, that is what keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Any additional comments?
I think this was the worst voice for Zed so far,Zed should always sound the same.not goofy!! But all in all this was a great book and it makes me want to finish the rest of the series. And I will,6 down a couple more to go!!!

Not for communists
This is one of the better books of the series. The pace is typical of Goodkind, meaning it can run a little slow at times, but overall good. The narrator does a good job giving life to the characters, although someone with such a deep voice reading for female characters is a bit distracting at times when he raises up an octave.
The second half focuses on the order and a thinly veiled attack on communism. I still enjoyed it quite a bit and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the sword of truth series.

Back on track
After the last book, I was concerned that the series was going downhill. I'm pleasantly surprised that Goodkind is back on track.
As an adult fantasy reader, this book is especially interesting. It is rather slow as fantasy goes. Nevertheless, Goodkind does a great job showing how tyranny gives evil a good name by convincing people that giving up their individuality and rights is the right thing to do. Stalin felt as much.
Goodkind's Imperial Order is a utilitarian/communist entity. For a fantasy book, the depth Goodkind gives to his characters and his analysis is surprising - not to mention the accurate picture he portrays of those who disdain individual success.

OK but not as good as the first two books
This book is okay, but not as good as the first two books, however this was the best narrator of the series so far. The main issue for me was there were too many back references to previous books and earlier parts of the story. Surely the author must expect it would be read in order.
Still worth adding to your library.

Book 6: now one of the best
Taking a different spin yet again Terry Goodkind makes Faith of the Fallen one of his best books yet. I was surprised by how profound the overarching themes of this book were and how they cleverly revealed themselves throughout the what became an epic plot. The narrator also settled well into this story, creating some interesting voices and portraying epic scenes admirably. I think this is one of my favourites!

Uneasy feeling of political manipulation.
In passages of this series you will come across inexplicablely inserted truisms of neoliberalism. You might wonder why the author had done such a clunky disservice to his own fantasy novel by attempting to sway his audience's political leanings is such an obvious way.
Ayn Rand (Objectivism) seems to be his inspiration and Jordan Peterson (self-absorption) his intellectual ally.
If either of these writters appeal so to might this series.

Who Needs Game of Thrones
I have always loved TG. The only bone to pick I have; Starting around book three, the text Terry writes becomes very repetitive in terms of dialogue

The Best Story of the Series
This episode of the Sword of Truth series had me listening intently to each chapter keen to find out what would happen next. It was thoroughly entertaining yet still had me wondering how things would turn out for Richard and Kahlan.

the emphasis on human debasement is disgusting
the design of every book so far describing human worthlessness is so revolting. I thought it was only 1 or 2 books but it's all of them and listening to these stories is like drinking poison and saying it's fine wine. do not listen to it. it will taint your view on humanity

One of the Greatest Fantasy Novels of all time
This is a story about the nobility and enduring beauty of the human spirit.
The writing is simple but clever.
The characters are incredibly inspiring.
The story with all its epic twists and turns come to a conclusion that's intense and deeply moving.
The ideas and thematic exploration will be forever relevant and anecdotal.
Terry Gookinds best work in my opinion.
Even as a stand alone it's still absolutely worth the read or listen!!

Get a new narrator!
I love this series. But as a group of audio books lacks continuity. The narrator change almost ever book. This one's performance is really bad. Cara's accent changes mid sentence and the narrator makes it seem like the Red Dragon and Cara are both from Brooklyn with a stupid accent gets lost after a couple of lines of dialogue.
I would pay for each book again if they get a good narrator. One that does not drop the last couple of word at the end of the sentence.
