Publisher's Summary

Sixteen-year-old Sunday is a powerful Shade who is itching to use her power. But her mentor, Naomi, won't let her go on jobs with the Guardians, so she spends most of her time kissing boys behind the greenhouses, showing up late to lessons, and swimming with her cat. When Naomi asks Sunday to do a job for her, Sunday jumps at the chance, only to find out it's in Tombstone, Arizona - where adventure sounds as likely as the town's name. Once there, Sunday pokes around and she finds an organization that threatens not only her, but all female Shades. Determined to prove herself to Naomi, Sunday goes after the group on her own, only to discover that Tombstone might live up to its name after all.

Mysterious and deceit

Omg, the author is killing me with these endings!! What a great hook!
This book starts off three years later after the ending of book 2. We get two POVs. We get to see more from Naomi and Sunday. It was interesting to
See how Sunday is doing and how she processed her younger life. She is a rebellious typical teenage girl but she is trying hard to do better. Sunday is sent to a small town to investigate, where we discover a town full of mystery, and secrets. The story certainly captivated and intrigued me.
I thought the narrator did a great job at portraying the characters. I did need to pay attention closely to see which POV she was telling next. But it was easy to follow along.

time jump

this book takes three year after the last book, it focuses on Sunday the girl Naomi saves. Sunday feels like any typical teen as in being overprotected, and in a sense Naomi is because she knows how powerful Sunday is and can be.

Secrets is the perfect name for this book!

This just might be my favorite book so far! I loved following Sunday while she figured out her powers. She's sassy little rebel, my favorite kind of character.

Another dazzling story by Kimberly Loth

This is probably my least favorite book in this series, but when it's such a good series, that's not saying much. It is still such an intriguing story! Definitely worth the second read :)

Interesting continuation of an interesting story.

This book focuses more on Sunday than on the other characters in the series and for that I found it interesting. I love when they go and explore some of the side character's stories because it gives more insight into them and their personalities. I also like the departure from roses to cacti. It makes it more interesting to see that change. I am curious to see how the next book will play out as there are so many things left unanswered. As always, the narrator did a great job of bringing the story and characters to life.

Secrets can be dangerous

This story takes place three years after Sunday has been rescued. In that time she has been living in Vegas with Ginny, Naomi and Puck. She has been training some it not to the extent she would like. Naomi meanwhile has a secret the is keeping from puck and recruits Sunday to help her. That means sending Sunday to Tombstone to stay with Alejando’s parents and see what she can find in terms of shades or guardians there.

A roller-coaster of plot twists.

Book 3 changes P.O.V between characters, this really made a difference on the story imo. The plot took some very unexpected turns, I was both excited and nervous. Kimberly Loth delivered yet another engaging addition to this series, the new characters in this book were wonderfully written. I loved seeing things from Sundays perspective, she is a quirky leading character. This is definitely becoming my favourite series.
