Dreadful Cheesy Stereotyping

I plodded through this book with gritted teeth and rolling eyes. It's full of all of the worst American stereotypes you can think of. The author writes as though they're narrating some awful cheesy movie from the 80s full of American hero's, brooding men and terrorism.

A real thriller

A most exciting and terrifying tale mares only by a somewhat ponderous multiple simultaneous perspective writing style which detracted from the tension

Disappointed

Not as good as was hoping after hearing a fair bit of hype. Nothing unexpected and fairly formulaic.

good story good performance

I really enjoyed this though it felt like it was dragging for the last couple of hours. I was ready for it to be over.

I did get mixed up with the characters, there was a lot to keep track of. the pilot and his family, the air stewards, the fbi lads, the terrorists. I was constantly mixing people up and trying to recall who was who.

the main character (pilot) and his wife were instantly likeable and I rooted for them the whole way through.

Not as hoped

This book had such Potential ! characters had no depth , pointless storyline of going back and forth to a previous time which added confusion. New characters appeared .. which seemed pointless to the story - again that all got quite confusing. I had such high hopes for this book. The movie might be good …

Fantastic, compulsive listening.

This story grabs you from the preface and doesn't let go until the end.

One minor niggle, this is one of those books that skips back and forth in time within chapters, maybe the printed book/ebook contained bullet points to signify the skip, I don't know, but a couple times I hadn't realised we'd skipped back in time or location etc until we'd been a bit into the section. It was frustrating but not enough of an issue to dock a star.

Very disappointed

This is a very average novel. The hype has been crazy (and obviously worked as I bought it expecting great things) the characters especially were pretty bad, I just didn't care about them at all, no big surprise in the plot and writing no better that average. No idea where all the hype came from, but do yourself a favour and ignore it.

Error

There is a problem with the audible - the sound goes off intermittently making it impossible to listen to ~ not work wasting a credit on this

A story that is written like a film

Oh the story is a good story. And very exciting to read/listen to. I guess I’m a bit sick of American “are we not such wonderful brave humans” I sure this was written by an American it’s of how they continually write stories about how wonderful they are.

Predictable, cliche and overcooked

Great narration let down by weak and predictable story line. Nothing new here, just a large collection of mush mash taken from parts of other novels. Disappointing.
