Publisher's Summary

It was supposed to be a quick mission. The only thing quick about it was how rapidly I failed.

With only a month left to earn her missing feathers, 19-year-old Leigh embarks on a trip to Paris to meet her newest project, 25-year-old Jarod Adler, leader of the Parisian Mafia and the worst kind of sinner...a Triple.

If Leigh can get Jarod to accomplish a single act of kindness, she stands to win 100 feathers, more than enough to complete her wings and ascend to Elysium, the land of angels.

What she doesn’t count on is Jarod's dark charm costing her feathers. She’s dead set on saving him, and he’s dead set on destroying her. Until he realizes destroying her wings is also destroying her heart. A heart he longs to hear beat only for him.

A modern Romeo and Juliet retelling featuring an epic sinner and the angel who'll stop at nothing to save him. Perfect for fans of Nalini Singh and Becca Fitzpatrick.

Underated(contains spoilers)

I've seen people say they don't like this book because a woman gave up her dreams for a man. She didn't, her dreams changed. I loved the journey that this book took mw on and cannot wait for the next installment.

One of my most favorite books ever.

Cannot recommend this book enough.
If you like mafia romance, paranormal romance, angels, and books that will make you cry, this is your book.
Leigh is a verity Fletching trying to earn all her feathers so she can ascend to Elysium. She meets Seraph Asher and is challenged to complete her wings quickly so she can be eligible to be his consort.
Through the urging of her longtime friend Eve she chooses a project sinner that will help her earn a large amount of feathers at once. What’s known as a “triple”. Jarod is the worst kind of sinner and many, many fletchings have attempted unsuccessfully to rehab his soul.
Leigh’s innocent soul, unique beauty, and captivating charm captivate her sinner and the result is one of the best love stories I’ve ever read.
I love the supporting characters and the narrators voice seemed to encapsulate Leigh very well.

Disappointing

I wanted to love this book but while
I could forgive the naivety of the heroine, I could not forgive her stupidity. There is not one moment where she tries to think things through or use her brain. She is literally ruled entirely by emotion and blinded by a pretty toxic and one sided love. By the end I was rolling my eyes at everything she did. The narrator was good though.

I absolutely love this book and the narrator brought it to life perfectly. It's exactly how I read it. This book is beautiful and so emotional. It's officially my favorite book!!!! Please, I'm begging you, listen to this book! It's even better than the blurb sounds so if it sounds good then you won't regret getting it.

A killing combination

I finally found a book good enough to get me out of my reading slump! I was so excited when Olivia's book came out and I knew that of someone could get me out of my slump it would be her engaging and snarky characters that are so full of life and always making you look at things in the eyes of the characters. Her writing is enchanting and does so well pulling you in it's hard to want to put the book down! I cannot wait for the next book to come out and hope that the date gets moved up.

As for the story, the world and rules surrounding the characters is beautifully crafted. The characters are like family drawing you in making you become invested in their plight and goals. It was an emotional roller coaster which I expected no less. I truly dont see how you could go wrong with this book!

Now Holly Fielding's narration is AMAZING! This is the first book I have heard done by her and all the voices she was able to not only keep consistent but that also perfectly matched the characters personalities was spot on. The story is hard enough to put down reading it but adding Holly's lively narrative into that and you have an unstoppable combination.

It’s probably best to go in blind, and if you have conflicted feelings like I did, just be aware that it’s completely worth continuing. Also, spoiler below.

Beautiful sadness... the angel and the mob boss

The narration was done well, despicting the emotions & spicy scenes well.

I don't normally read books I know will make me sad, I'm not into those, but it's Wildenstein, so I had to give it a whirl. And y'all, grab a tissue box.
Written in first person from Leigh's point of view, I think I would have enjoyed it a little more with maybe some input from Jarod's POV as well. It's a Romeo and Juliet-style romance with spice. And holy moly, I wasn't expecting that amount spice! 🥵

Leigh (L-ay), a pure angel with a heart of gold and penchant for romance novels. Jarod, a broken mob boss with no regard for his soul.

Talk about opposites! Two completely different worlds collide when Leigh needs to earn lots of feathers fast to be considered as a bride prospect in the angel domain of Elysium & Jarod just wants to see what's under her dress.
The characters were well done, though it took me a bit to warm up to Leigh, I did. I found her desire for all around her to be better people heart warming, and her love for food to be just like me. Jarod is the classic bad boy with a tragic past, and his back story made me in parts want to hold him & slap him. The small circle he allows close to him as a made family, matches Leigh with her found sisters, as they were raised away from their biological parents. I firmly believe found family can be closer than real family, because you choose them, and I loved this aspect of their relationships.

With danger, ask the levels of angels, fighting against what's expected and taught, and then the love that blossoms between Leigh and her sinner, the book is a solid 4/5 for me, and that's because crying and being sad wrapping up a book does me in. Will I read Celestial, you bet your cherub baby butt I will! I need more about the troubled angel Seraphim Asher and Fletchling Celeste, Leigh's younger "sister."

This audiobook was gifted as an ALC by the author on request. All thoughts and
opinions are completely my own, and I voluntarily provided a review.

What happens when an Angel questions the rules?

Flipping heck! I think I’m a bit broken. I know I’m in awe right now. A tragic love story filled with angels and sinners. A fantastical tale whereby an Angel earns feathers for her wings in order to ascend to Elysium. How do they earn these feathers? By helping sinners to better their ways. What happens though when both Angel and sinner break all the rules? Nothing is quite as it seems, lies and deceit from those you would expect to be better. A completely addictive, emotional and (a little) sexy fantasy romance. I absolutely loved it. I listened to the audio version, narrated solely by (new to me) Holly Fielding, who did a fantastic job throughout. She was perfect for each and every character she read, both male and female. I was totally addicted.

My heart

Oh my goodness, why didn’t anyone warn me that I’d be ripping out my own heart in reading this?
A PNR take on Romeo & Juliet, so extremely well done, I don’t have the words. I adored Feather & her Sinner so very much, in their steadfast not to change their paths, and in going with it once it did.
I’m glad this series isn’t over, I just need a bit more from Elysium.

The narration to this was absolute perfection! Leigh sounded EXACTLY how I heard her in my mind.

Emotionally Traumatic Ending!

Feather is the most intense emotional read I think that I will ever read. My brain can barely concentrate enough to write this review because it is so fried from that ending. WHAT? WHAT WAS THAT?! How could Olivia do that to us? Her loyal readers! I am both emotionally and mentally exhausted and don't think I will ever get over this ending. This book gives your such warm feelings inside it lulls you into a sense of security unlike you've ever known. And then it incinerates your insides whilst completing annihilating your soul from your body.

Leigh is a angel and is only 81 feathers away from ascending to Elysium. She is the kindest, purest soul as she helps people around the world like all angels to gain her feathers for her wings. If she doesn't she'll lose them forever and no longer be immortal. A hopeless romantic she will only marry for love. Until Seraph Asher comes down looking for a mate and Leigh does something she never thought she would do. She chose to help a triple.

Jarod Adler, the mafia boss of Paris is a triple a dark and dangerous man with one of the highest scores in the ranking system. A rank that has never ever in his history of being in the system changed. But Jarod Adler is more than what he appears. Leigh sees this, but will her devotion to helping to save peoples souls mean the corruption of her own? Jarod convinces her to test the boundaries and Leigh finds herself doing things she never thought she would do ever.

Feather is an amazing and my first ever story focused just on Angels but it also one of the most soul destroying stories I have ever read. I am heartbroken, utterly and completely heartbroken. I feel like their is a deep dark void that light will never penetrate. That is how good Olivia's writing is, it sucks your in, gets you invested in the characters like their old friends you've known for years. The audio narration only makes it better! Olivia just has a knack for choosing the right people to voice her characters to help bring her books even more to life.

The other characters in Leigh's life intrigue me so much I am going to need to read their own stories. Celeste's is a must is thankfully out but I would also like to read Muriel's. Throughly enjoyable and one of my favourites of Olivia's.

Oh my Feather

Oh my gosh I loved it. Romeo and Juliet with Angels and what an original concept!
I got this on KU and then added the audio and I am so glad I did as it was beautifully narrated by Holly Fielding. She brought every character trait and emotion to life.
This is a beautiful story, so well written I was floored by how much I loved the main character Leigh. She is a fledgling Angel that earns feathers with every good deed in order to ascend to Elysium. She takes on sinner Jared who is the leader of the Mafia. If she can get him to do a single act of kindness she will receive 100 feathers and complete her wings.
I loved his back story and believe it or not he is a pretty good guy but goes about things in a different way.
The world building is stunning and I loved every minute of Jared and Leigh’s journey.
The ending floored me so I can’t wait to start book 2. Highly recommend 5/5.

Beautiful and heartbreaking!

This book is amazing! The narrator is spectacular and the story is heart wrenchingly beautiful and tragic. I loved Leigh and Jarod and the romance between them is so sweet and wonderful and it gave me all the feels. But be warned this is a Romeo and Juliet retelling so the ending is beyond tragic and I cried so hard. But the story, the world, the writing and the characters are all so beautiful that it is so worth the read. I’m hoping beyond hope that the cliffhanger epilogue means we’ll get to see more of Jarod and Leigh. Also, I’m very excited the sequel will feature Celeste since she was my favourite side character!

outstanding story, excellent narrator

I absolutely loved this book, it hooked me from the very beginning. What a beautiful love story packed full of emotion that warmed my heart even as it was breaking it.

Feather was the first book I've read, well listened to by this author but, it will not be my last. I loved the sound of the blurb, but I was not expecting such a rich story full of depth and feeling. Told from Leigh's pov, the female narrator was excellent and had a very expressive voice. She fit it perfectly.

Angels and sinners....... secrets, lies, betrayal, sins and injustice on one side, the purest heart and soul deep love on the other. Leigh must help sinners redeem themselves to earn her feathers so she can ascend from Earth to Elysium as an angel. She needs over 80, so when a triple (one who will earn her 100 feathers) is placed in her path, she is determined to help him, despite the warnings that he is the worst of his kind. Many before her have tried and failed, but there is a lot more to Jarod than meets the eye. He doesn't want redemption, but the deeper Leigh gets involved, it becomes more about justice and love than the feathers she needs. I really loved both of these characters, there was so much depth to them and a lot more than I imagined.

This amazing book will break your heart and make you think.  When I started listening to it, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Leigh and Jarod have buried themselves in my heart. This book was beautiful, thought provoking and devastating.  With twists and turns, at times it wrecked me.  I never saw that ending coming, however I'm still full of hope after the epilogue with the intriguing Asher.  I've laughed, swooned and sobbed,  I absolutely loved it. It warmed me inside even as it broke me. I cant wait for the next book in the series, Celestial, because I'm sure it will mend my broken bits...I hope!! 🙏🤞

Fall in love with this beauty of a book

narration was superb, the story telling draws you in & makes you fall in love with the main characters. I couldn't stop listening to it. A rollercoaster of emotion & I was in absolute floods of tears at the end & I've not been like that over a book in many many many years! You will fall in love with and love to hate some characters but every single one is written to perfection & their story will captivate you. Can't wait for the next instalment, just can't come soon enough!

Feather!!

This book!!! I love this book! This book took my soul. This is one of the best books I have listened to in a very long time. Holly Fielding did an absolutely FANTASTIC job narrating this book. She brought Leigh and Jarod to life. This is a tragically epic "Romeo and Juliet" love story. I can not wait for Asher's book.
