Publisher's Summary

When raven shifter Riley Porter was given sanctuary by the Phoenix Pack, she let them believe she had left her flock. Reluctant to divulge the secrets of her past, she was still embraced as family. Only Tao Lukas, the protective and passionate Head Enforcer of the pack, was resistant to the enigmatic shifter. Until Riley started to arouse in him something other than suspicion.

Tao doesn't trust lone shifters, especially ones so guarded - and tempting. But the sexual tension between them is making them both come undone, and vulnerable to more than desire. All Tao wants is for Riley to stay with him and to trust him with the truth of her past.

As Riley's mysteries come to light, so does a danger that threatens not only her life but the safety of the entire pack. For Tao, keeping Riley safe means keeping her close - forever - as his mate.

Love the author but.....

I really enjoyed the book . I had hoped that the author would have changed it up a bit. All the book in this series follow the same pattern. Boy meets girl , boy and girl resist each other . Some sort of battle threatens their lives. Boy and girl survive and become mates . The end . I enjoy the story line but it has lost its suspense and excitement.

No my favorite Phoenix book

Something seemed missing in this book, not sure what it was. But I'm hooked on both Phoenix pack and mercury pack characters. I think what this book missed, was the pack characters. Narrator always great though!

Raven shifter Riley and head wolf enforcer Tao.

Very enjoyable audible narration by a superb narrator. She sounds just like one does in a conversation.

not the best

I was very disappointed by the book in so many ways all they do is fuck and it's the same as all the other books and the story was good but not good enough to keep me interested. I want a story with someone from the pack dating someone and then their true mate comes along.. what would happen? hmmm

My Thoughts on Fierce Obsessions

4.5 of 5 stars

Another fantastic, truly wonderful shifter romance from Suzanne Wright.

This story was one that needed to be told. A fan of the series like myself has seen the tension and chemistry building between Tao and Riley. So their story needed to happen. It was everything I hoped for and more.

The narration continued to be highly enjoyable overall. I love Jill Redfield's female and male voices.

In will be looking forward to the next book in this and the Mercury pack series.

I LOVE THIS SERIES

I knew this was going to be good and it DID NOT disappoint! If I'm in the mood for sexy shifters, hot AF steamy scenes, and fantastic narration----I grab an audiobook by Suzanne Wright. Seriously, folks she can do no wrong in my eyes. I lurve her books!

So here's the breakdown: Wolf meets Raven and immediately hates her, only he doesn't really hate her. What he really hates is that he can't control his libido! So, they do the whole male/female song and dance for a little while. They face a few challenges from outside sources, but ultimately have lots and lots steamy unparalleled sex and fall in love.

Here's what I love about the series: There's a bit of drama, a dash of mystery, and sprinkle of danger included. If you've read Suzanne before you get it. She follows her formula. If you haven't read Suzanne...WHY???
The characters are awesome, the storyline is great, and did I mention the steamy, unparalleled love-making? Yep. It awesome if that's jam.

I love this series and never want it end. If S.W. keeps writing them, I'll keep reading/listening to them and recommending them. The audiobooks are amazing! Great pace, inflection, and overall performance. 2 Thumbs up!

Okay story

I liked Riley she was interesting, The male MC was boring even in other books, he was dark and brooding and I was hoping that the reason would be revealed. He just wasn’t a good MC. I was glad for the action

Great Story - Added Politics, no so good!

I love all of the phoenix series; however, making a comment that humans can't be understood because they voted for Donald Trump is totally BS! im not into politics much, but this whole sentence there just plain pissed me off and totally changed my perspective of the book, last thing i wanted to hear was politics when all I wanted was to get into was a book about fairy tales...

The Best Shifter writer out there.

This is the 6th instalment in the Phoenix Pack series by Suzanne Wright. I enjoyed this book so much. Each one of these books has so much going on and it's written so well. Raven shifter Riley is staying with the Phoenix pack who have fostered 2 shifter children from the Shelter for lone shifters, the children are close to Riley and she came with them to protect and support them. The Phoenix pack have offered her a permanent place in their pack and she gets along amazingly with them all. Except Tao Lukas, Head Enforcer for the pack. He treats her with suspicion and coldness so when Riley wakes after a pack party to celebrate Tao's birthday with a terrible hangover and Tao's naked body lying next to her she is more than a little irritated with herself. Tao on the other hand is pretty happy with the situation. I won't give any more of the story away. I will say that a significant section of this story takes place on another shifter territory and that this book is every bit as intense and sexy as the other books in the series.
I have seen criticism about the similarities between these books and I do not deny that there are similarities, there is a formula. However the stories are about shifters who have similarities in their natures. These similarities are present throughout the series but there is always a strong and intensely thrilling plot that is completely different with every story.
Jill Redfield delivers another outstanding performance. I cannot criticise her performance one bit. Character portrayal is every bit as strong with this book as with the other Phoenix and Mercury pack songs. She consistently maintains the mood and intensity of every situation throughout the book. She brings Suzanne Wrights books to audio life.

Suzanne Wright's book's are addictive !

Absolutely love her wolf shifter stories, have listened to them all in order repeatedly. Love how you get to know all members of the pack's stories in each different book in the series, brilliantly written would make an awesome tv series.
The narrator is great too. Just the best can't wait for more books in the future.
My favourites so far are the 'phoenix' & 'mercury' pack series's.
Well worth a go, very exciting stories and if you don't mind books that get pretty raunchy then you may enjoy them.

Got to love wolves!!!

Both the Mercury and Phoenix series has been seriously addictive. Despite the commonalities in each story, the characters have each had an individual story to tell. I tend to skip across the "mating" scenes, once you've read one you've read them all but I still can't get enough from these characters.

Jill Redfield is an amazing narrator and really brings the characters to life.

Just want more. Loving this series so much

I have been listening to the audiobook while on my walks. I love this series and anything by Suzanne Wright. I can read and listen to it again and again. This is book 6 in the Phoenix Pack series and I give 5 stars as well. The stories are fun, full of drama, suspense, and hot. There is just so much to like.

Even if shifters aren't your thing if you gave it a chance I think you would still enjoy the story behind the shifter part of the plot. It is all really about finding the one and the family the packs have built. The way they are a solid unit who have each other's backs.

The moments of humor when Riley stirs Tao up or when Dominic is once again throwing out cheesy lines always make me chuckle. But it's the absolute love the mates have for each other chosen or fated that makes my knees weak and holy heck the passion makes you hot and bothered too.

Riley and Tao may have been dancing around each other since she arrived with Dexter and Savannah for sanctuary when the lone shifter shelter was under attack but it seems tequila and Tao's birthday may have finally bought things to a head. Waking up with the head enforcer who dislikes her isn't the ideal situation no matter how much she wanted to know what he tasted like. At least now she knows now and they can forget just forget it ever happened.

Tao can't deny how much he has wanted Riley since she arrived even when he didn't trust the outsider. He's watched and learned and knew she would not take to him just saying she was his but after their night together he has no intention of things going back to how they were before. He knows plenty about why Riley left her flock but he wants her to finally open up to him. He'll chip away at her walls until he gets in. There is no other option in his opinion.

So Tao joins Riley on a trip to Arizona to her flock to visit her Uncles who are more like her parents after hers died while she was still very young. While the majority of the flock are happy to see her there are a few who plan to make the journey a hard one. When Riley is put in the crosshairs things don't start to add up for Tao. At first, he suspects the human Ramon who confronted them a few days earlier. Ramon expected Taryn to attempt to heal his terminally ill brother and being that he is as bad as they come no one in the pack felt bad about the fact Taryn couldn't help. Now he plans to make sure they know how bad saying no to him is. But Riley hasn't been the only target while in Arizona so does it have something to do with why she left in the first place. Struggling to trust anyone from the flock some of the pack arrive to help try and figure out what is going on.

When answers don't seem to be coming and Tao's concern for Riley reaches a peak he insists they go back to California, she fights, of course, wanting to stay until the problem is resolved but in the end, Tao convinces her to return. Back home happy to be with the kid's Tao and Riley realize what they are together is more than casual and cement their commitment to each other.

Thinking they left the trouble behind in Arizona they ease up some of their restrictions and venture out, leading to Dexter almost being taken and Riley hurt. The human has gone too far and it's time to let him know who they are dealing with. Ramon needs to know he isn't dealing with humans shifters are a very different breed.

A man like Ramon doesn't like to lose though and with an unexpected attack trying to get to Taryn again, it comes down to the pack, teeth, and claws, versus humans and guns. The pack defends as a team as always and fights back against the humans' but the problem from Arizona has shown up at the same time and both Riley and Tao are in some serious danger. It could be too much to deal with all at once and might be more than the pack can handle this time.

Happy Listening

Really good narration.

Great Narration. Have bought this audible book
Read through KU whilst also flicking and listening to the audible version too. What a great idea to Read and Listen. Very handy using my headphones when doing stuff around the house. I don’t lose the flow of the story.
I have to say the narrator for this book was one of the best with an enjoyable narration. Lots of inflections and I could tell most of the characters apart.
BOOK REVIEW
Great spending time with this group.
Loved reading Riley and Tao’s story and how this all unfolded.
The interaction with the children was great and Greta was surprisingly likable.
Really good story with two different baddie plots happening.
Liked what happens to Ramon and wasn’t surprised at who the flock baddie was but boy wasn’t she delusional.
Riley’s old flock really need to be slapped upside the head. The alphas Sage and Ruby were more like chickens in the way they acted. Talk about weak leaders.
Pity Cynthia didn’t get her just deserts though.
Read through KU but unfortunately I couldn’t get the audible version at the same time for some reason. Have bought the audible book since.
