Publisher's Summary

Fifteen years ago, she fell into my world. Fifteen years ago, I fell for her. She’s the love of my life. No going back. Loving someone means sacrificing your own happiness to protect them. Loving someone means making them hate you to keep them safe, to get them away from the toxicity that is your world. I destroyed us before we even had a chance to begin…

Can a near death experience bring both my kid and the woman who owns my heart back to me? This is Declan O'Donnelly's story.

DNF. I seriously feel like we're being punked

Is this some kind of f**king joke?!?!? The big reveal. The reason that he did what he did. What he broke the "only woman he ever loved" for and allowed someone to blackmail him for almost the entirety of his life....was.....that? Am I fu**ing missing some huge chapter everyone who rated this with 4&5* got?!?!
This COULD have been amazing. It wasn't though.

It was like watching a beautiful car smash into a brick wall immediately after admiring it.

Initially I thought this was gonna be sooooo good. Even though I'm not big on second chance romances, after the first couple chapters I bought in. Thought I was here for it. Could see all the potential. And then BOOM ...brick wall.

There was absolutely no groveling. No angst. nope. Just another lovely example of how female authors love writing pathetic female characters. 15 years after he shatters her heart he simply says "you're my woman " and she's all like "okay" . The most annoying part about that, you ask?? She was written as a strong woman who'd sooner walk on broken glass than immediately forgive a man for breaking her heart and soul WITHOUT even having an apology from him in the first place. I mean this mf intended on keeping her as his fu**ing side piece for LIFE because he "loved her so much". There's a flash back to when they were younger, this DAB let him brand her which is just an indication that she's his, but not enough to brand with a wedding ring. I was certain the reason we were seeing this is because we were about to see the growth in her as an adult. We were going to see this polarizing difference . Like she went from a girl willing to not only be a side piece but a lifetime one with a brand to one who takes no prisoners. Who you're convinced will never take a man back who's Done this. A woman who we're about to see be groveled to. No. Instead after being told for chapters how she's so much stronger and would never be that "stupid naive little girl again" we see her immediately be that stupid naive little girl again. I mean come on?!?!? She puts up ZERO resistance when he's like "we're getting married" their very first conversation. No apology. No her telling him how big of a pos he was for making her his side piece even though he loved her. ESPECIALLY because he loved her.
AND don't even get me started on the weak ass reasoning materialized out of seemingly thin air to justify him making the woman he was genuinely in love with his life time side piece.

I'd no star this trash if not for the solid narrators. Love both of them.

Filthy Dark

Dear Serena, I really wanted to like this book I really did but the female narrator was just ugh, Teddy Hamilton is always a treat but still not Irish enough for this book. You can still redeem yourself by getting someone like Troy Duran his Irish rogue is on spot! I’m hoping the narration for Filthy Sex is better;)

So perfect!

Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom were perfect for this story! Teddy brought Declan to life and I loved listening to Declan growl at his brothers! If was so perfect! CJ did so good for Aela. The depth of her character was so spot on!

Declan was the misjudged brother of the Five Points. He loved the arts and his father always found a way to be hard on him because of it. I feel that even though his brothers love him and would do anything for him, they don't understand him or what makes him tick.

Aela was such a strong woman. The decisions that she had to make were so tough but she did what she had to do to protect her family.

I normally don't like second chance romances but this one was beyond good! You completely understood Aela's reasoning and sometimes love was just not enough. The miscommunication and the assumptions made it equally as hard for these two! I loved how the past and present took us on an emotional journey! I absolutely love this series!

It have been a 5!😫🤍

Honestly she forgave him too easily and he didn’t have a good enough excuse to do what he did. If serena only would have made Declan grovel! It would have been perfect. I feel like they reunited so easily, it was underwhelming. I thought there would be more drama there and more answers. Why didn’t they talk more about Deirdre? Was that really why he left Aela?! I thought he loved her, he should have fought for her! Aela let him walk all over her. First she lets herself be the side piece ?! What?! She deserved so much more. She should have demanded more! Anyway after that little rant. I will admit this is a great series and the book was not horrible. The background characters definitely helped me get through the story and Seamus was everything!! Loved him. Overall, I give it a 4/5 ⭐️

Love it!

I have grown to love this series and so I was excited to see Declan's story finally being told. We meet Aela briefly in Filthy Rich and I love how she has done everything she can to protect her and Declan's son from the craziness of the Five Points. She always knew that she and Declan would end up back together and I love how instead of becoming a caveman and being a jerk about the fact that his son was kept from him, Declan accepts it and even approves of the way that Seamus has been raised. It is nice to see his brothers beginning to stand up for Declan and to try to protect Seamus from the family's business as much as possible. This was a sweet re-connection of old lovers and I love to see how they fell in love all over again. I cannot wait for Brennan's book!
The narrators are fantastic!

"At my side. Where she should have always been."

Filthy Dark is the 3rd book in the Five Points series and the 8th book in the Sinners/Five Points crossover reading order.

Declan and Aela’s story finally answers the question “who is she to him and what happened between them” that come up in the first two books. This second chance romance between an Irish mob prince and the girl with ties to the same mob but in a much lower rank will break your heart and put it back together again. After their secret romance in high school, Declan is forced to push Aela away for her protection. In return, Aela makes the decision to keep a secret which could mean dire consequences for her if her former sweetheart or his family were to find out. So she runs away and stays on the move for 14 years. However, when they come back into each other’s lives, Declan’s reaction is not what she expects. His decision to make her his – permanently – is swift and he sets about making the necessary changes to make it so…but will Aela agree? And is it just her ties to the mob that is putting her life – and her son’s life – in danger?

I absolutely love the chemistry between Declan and Aela. The first time they see each other you can practically see the sparks jump off the page! These two artistic souls are meant for each other and when they are torn apart, you’ll need tissues! During their separation, Aela has done an amazing, if unorthodox job of raising her son, Seamus, and she has grown into a proud, confident, strong woman in turn. In fact, the couple admit that while they hate the years apart, and Declan especially struggles with guilt and regret, it was that time that molded them into people who are even better suited for each other.

“’…maybe we’re the people we need to be now because of what we’ve gone through separately.’” – Aela

“’You know what blows my mind? That we had to go through all the s**t to be here right now. To be the people we are…It f**ks with me to think that I like this you better than the old you.’” - Declan

The brothers are incredibly close and have each other’s backs, always, but when they meet Seamus, it will absolutely melt your heart. But that is nothing compared to the scenes between Declan and Seamus…Dec is an incredible father from the first minute they meet and it just gets better from there.

As the Five Points struggle with choices they must make to not only deal with rats among their ranks, but also the bigger question of how to squash their enemies while minimizing the effects of war with other factions, the action outside of the brothers’ personal lives heats up and you’ll want to start taking notes if you haven’t already!

At the end, we get a glimpse into life 6 months after the major events of the story, showing our couple truly getting their happily ever after and it is sweet and perfect for them.

I listened to this book on Audible. Teddy Hamilton embodies Declan’s repressed yet dominating tone beautifully. CJ Bloom does a fine job as Aela, showcasing her as a naïve ingenue when she is young, then blossoming into a fiercely protective and independent woman when she is older. There were a couple of moments for each of the narrators where they placed inflection a little strangely but it didn’t happen often.

Another Chance

This story takes a different turn from the previous two books in the series. Secondary characters and hints of their stories are provided in the previous books, so as. Reader I’m anxious to see where this goes.
I did get frustrated with Declan, some of the choices he made..yet also felt for him as he, as a teenager, made some poor decisions. 15 years it takes for a chance meeting and a love he has always had comes back into his life.
I do like that the H and h do act like adults and certainly live Seamus.
Looking forward to that two last brothers stories.
Teddy Ha I,ton and CJ Bloom do a great job.
Loving this author..I will be interested in exploring other series of hers.

Awesome 3rd Book

Teddy and CJ really brought this book to life. I felt as if I was really there in some of the scenes thanks to their incredible narrations.

Absolutely loved Declan story a must listen to

Filthy dark is the third book in this series and it is narrated by Teddy Hamilton and CJ bloom and boy do they bring Declan and Aela characters to life and I loved listening to them as Declan the quite brooding O Donnelly and Aela the strong determined women.

They were in love many years ago and things happened and Aela left but what she hadn’t told Declan before she left she was pregnant with his child. Then when Declan is shot and is in a very bad way and might not make Aela comes back and the family find out that Declan has a 14 year old son and to the O’DONNELLY family is everything. They now have a second chance to be together can they make it work and Declan will do everything that he can to protect his son for going into the family business

I loved listening to this story on audio and would recommend you listen to story you get lost in there voices and you can imagine the characters are real with the way Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom bring them to life

Fab

The Five Points books are amongst favourites and being able to listen to the books instead is wonderful. I no longer mind getting stuck in traffic as it allows me to spend more time with my guys.

Filthy Dark is the story of Declan & Aela. This the second chance romance that you didn’t know you needed in your life. Teddy Hamilton & C J Bloom play their parts to perfection.

I’m looking forward to being able to listen to the rest of the series.

OMG Declan!

Filthy Dark is the third book in the Five Points Mob Series. I love that we get to know Declan and Aela from the past and Declan and Aela now. Holy hell there is some kink in this book! I love it!
I adore Seamus and how he says what he thinks. He doesn't cower.
We get to know more about the family too. I can't wait for the next book!
Both narrators performed really well! I just love Teddy hamiltons voice. C. J. Bloom did a great job with Aela as well, especially her spunk!

Binge listening

I have been binge listening to these books for the last two days. They are just that addictive. Cleaning, cooking, driving these narrators have been making me hope I get stuck in traffic to carry on listening.
Filthy Dark follows Declan ODonnelly and his childhood sweetheart Aela. And although these are mafia books they also each have a different trope that follows. This is hidden pregnancy and a rekindled romance. If you’ve read the books the audio are just as awesome.
