Publisher's Summary

The stakes couldn’t be higher in the newest novel in the New York Times best-selling, pulse-pounding Jane Yellowrock series.

Jane Yellowrock is the queen of the vampires, and that makes her a target as she fights to maintain control and keep peace in the city of New Orleans. She has enemies at every turn, because vampires live forever, and they keep their grudges alive with them. That includes the Heir, the vampire sire of the Pellissier bloodline, which gave rise to Leo Pellissier himself—Jane’s old boss and the former master of the city.

With the Heir and all the forces of darkness he can muster arrayed against her, Jane will need all the help she can get. She’ll find it in her city, her friends, her found family, and, of course, the Beast inside of her.

Say it ain’t so!

It’s sounds like the final book in the series. I wish it could go on forever. We will miss you Jane. (Sniffle, wipe tears)

Better than I expected

Faith hunter out did herself in the Final Heir. it seemed to me she was losing her touch in the last few books but now I see she had foundation to lay for the culmination of the story. Faith was able to bring together even the most insignificant bits to make a FABULOUS ending to this story with enough loose ends to branch out to other stories if the Muse strikes her or leave as is. Thank you for the years of great story telling.

Wow just Wow

What an amazing job. What a bitter sweet end to a great series. This had been one of my most favorite series. I will so miss the wonderful characters you have created and brought to life by the amazing Khristine Hvam. Thank you

So damn good!

This is so beautifully written. So rich, thoughtful, patient, and consistently expressed in connection with an extraordinarily creative story line. I’m simply in awe of, Kristine Hveem and her talented acting. I will read literally anything Faith Hunter writes. The relationships are rich and complex, the love, loyalty, and evolution of these characters is so captivating. Love love love this series and such a well done ending, if this is the end. Worth the wait and no short cuts taken.

I have some super picky dumb feedback of little crap that wasn’t concluded, but it’s not even worth expressing with such an overall masterpiece!

Thank you Faith Hunter! Thank you.

Holy crap on a cracker with toe jam

Great ending to this series, definitely a home run. Quite a few surprises. Only hate that this is the end.

Great finale

I really lived this entire series and this was a really good finale for Jane Yellowrock. I'm a little sad I won't have another JY book in my que. But now it's time to explore other Faith Hunter books.

My favorite para series ever

I fell in love with the Jane YellowRock series by chance in a bookstore in San Francisco. I have been voracious in listening to the audio books for the last few years.
Now here we are at book 15, and I am just so thrilled with the character archs. Most of the long lives series I read repeat themselves, become predictable. But our Jane continues to be a wild card. I know it’s the last JY book, but I suspect we will see her again in the other book/s and or short stories

One can only hope that this is not the final story

While there were a few plot holes, the performance by Khristine Hvam is always amazing, sets the bar high for my expectation of narrators. I enjoy the cast of characters & always look forward to what will come next. Unlike many stories where the protagonist is is bland but surrounded by fascinating people, Jane is interesting, snarky, deep & genuine. I will read every Jane Yellowrock book I can find.

Great Book in an Awesome series

this was really a great book and the end to a story line and maybe the series. this book very smartly completed a storyline that has been going on for several books. I am not sure but kind of got the feeling this maybe the end of the series. Guess we will have to wait and see. I would really like to see more books because it is such a good series!

Love the series - Not sure about this book

I love this series, love Jane, beast and all the characters but I’m just not sure about this book.

I love what it aimed to achieve and bring together at the end, tying off so many storyline threads really was satisfying to read/hear. But, the story leading up to the big ‘thread closing’ ending, felt a bit unsatisfying to me, there was A LOT of going back over old stories, explanations and speculating the why of things, much more than usual - and part of me understands why Faith would want to bring all of that to the forefront of our minds again, there have been a lot of books after all, but it started to feel like that was all the book was about to me and so felt dry. Especially as pretty much every fight bar the last one, Jane effectively just watched and did nothing even when she’d ‘geared up’ and gone.

Again I’m split on this. I get that Faith was trying to portray Jane’s frustration at not being able to be in the thick of things now she’s queen. But, while I got some of it, some it just didn’t feel like Jane. Alot of the fights they just watched the witches and the heir do what they came for and didn’t seem to even try to stop it, just step back and watched. I just feel like Jane would have done more, if not in the fights themselves then to try and figure things out and try to take preemptive action to stop ‘the inevitable’. This felt like she just waited for the inevitable to unfold, which is not what I’m used to from Jane Yellowrock

Worth waiting for.

I took quite some time to get into this book. As a fan of Faith Hunter’s books, I always preorder the audiobook, but found that, unlike what usually hapoens, I was dragging my feet. Why? Because so much of the first chapters were so caught up in vampire history and problems with politics.
Mind you, once it got going, it was a beauty!!!!
Don’t get put off, Faith Hunter has come through for us again!
Now for the other series’ story the surely must be on it’s way to explain the absence of Rick et al when Jane needed them so badly.

A great ending but with sadness

Another great story tying up all the unfinished endings of the series. I have loved Jane and beast their thoughts and way of dealing with things. Never perfect, but fixes and owns her mistakes. A strong vulnerable amazing character. Loved all her peoples and relationships and her unyielding love and protection over them. They are individually wonderful characters adding to this unique, funny , quirky and beloved series. I have really enjoyed Kristine Hvam’s narration and voices, it brought the story alive and I felt I was in the story with them. Thanks Faith so much and hopefully the possible spin off with Angie baby and Edward could also be the start of something great and will hear from Jane and Co again.
