Story
In a time when social media encourages us to constantly highlight how great we’re doing and how #Blessed life is, there seems to be little room for the inevitable truth: in every life, there are days that are not great. Yet decades in the self-help world have taught Eveline Helmink - editor-in-chief of Happinez magazine and a self-titled cheerleader for failure and discomfort - that true emotional growth comes from realizing that it’s often on our worst days when we learn the most about what empowers, strengthens, and revitalizes us - and yes, brings us happiness.

Publisher's Summary
Grounded in cutting-edge science but translated for people who speak emoji, Find Your F*ckyeah disrupts the warm and fuzzy "personal growth" fads made fashionable by mock gurus and self-proclaimed #selfcare experts. This bold guide combines humor, pop culture, and psychology to show us why the one-size-fits-all success formulas and trendy morning routines keep us caught in a cycle of boredom and stress, never fully sustaining our happiness.
With hard science, guided experiments, and modern wisdom - from Beyoncé to Carl Jung - Alexis Rockley takes us step-by-step through the biological, cultural, and social factors that create our self-limiting beliefs. Debunking self-sabotaging ideals like "You Are a Living Brand" and "You Have One Calling," Rockley encourages us to discover our real, uncensored selves and find a sense of purpose, even when we don't have all the answers. For those of us tired of feeling the pressure to be better, do more, and work faster - to self-optimize and fall in line - Find Your F*ckyeah teaches us how to find joy where we are right now and to let our genuine self-expression guide us.

Good, but not great
Filed with great research and scientific information about how our brains work and how we sabotage ourselves. Only a few sit-down and write down your thought sections in the book. Happy I read it, but not the kick in the ass I was hoping for with such a bold title.

Best self help book ever? Maybe...
So this is a great self help book because the author not only has researched the science of self improvement (in all of its various forms) like so many others - but SHE TELLS YOU HOW TO DO IT!! With concrete examples I might add. Of the many books in this area that I’ve read that suggest developing a mindfulness practice, this is the first one that explains to you what it feels like when you’re doing it! Also she’s an excellent reader of her book, I highly recommend it.

Holy value!! Tactical, science-directed, with a witty and cynically-positive delivery. This is the workings of an inner dialogue of someone who really figured it out and didn’t try to package it as a 12-step program. I can’t say thank you enough.

Alexis has a way of being informative, warm and fun, whilst telling you exactly how it is. I feel invigorated after listening to this book. The way she breaks all the info down and backs it up with lots of hard research is totally commendable. loved every minute. It will either change how you think about everything ( if you're new to this kind of thinking ) or a light a fire under your ass.
