heartbreaking account of a horrendous ordeal

I am so angry that Michelle was singled out and abused while Amanda was treated much better. this is like a horrible psychological thriller. it certainly doesn't seem right.
I'm glad Michelle survived and I hope she finds her Joey.

Good overcomes evil

From the beginning of this audio book I was riveted. I was unable to turn it off and would often just sit and listen for an hour longer. It is horrifying in the details of what happened to these girls. No getting around that and it sometimes made it very hard to listen to. At times I was in tears. But more than that, it is a story about how good overcomes evil and the strength of the human spirit. I highly recommend this.

Would recommend. Incredibly moving and motivates you to push through whatever it is you're going through.

This story taught me about the incredible feeling of hope.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The voice of narrator was a bit stupid... Kind of like a Disney princess

Blown away

Where does Finding Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The best book i have listened to in a very long time. I am in awe of Michelle. She has shown such inner strength. A must read...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Finding Me?

Michelle is so humble and inspiring. Its hard to pick a favorite moment in the book. It did take me through all the emotions with her and her fellow captures. I couldn't put it down and had to finish the book in one read...

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The title is so apt...wonderful read!

Any additional comments?

So glad i found this book. It gave me a new perspective on life. Thank you to the author for taking the time to write the book and share her story with the rest of us.

Cruelty to another level

I watch the movie then decided to listen to the book I got so hooked I was listening every chance I got and I don't normally do a lot of reading/audiobooks I much rather watch the movie except in this case I felt the book was far better than watching the movie. I can't believe how cruel the man that kidnapped her was, it was quiet horrible all the things he did to her it's truly a miracle she endured it for 11 years and made it out alive, a lot of other victims would have probably given up and take there own life but thank god she had a son to inspire her to stay strong and don't give up on the hope to see him again. I wish her all the best and I do hope she finds nothing short of happiness for the rest of her life. I gave 4 stars for the story because some times she didn't say exactly what he did to her or how he was hurting her I guess it was too hard for her say but apart from that great sad story.

Heartbreaking

I want to wish Michelle Knight all the happiness in the world after surviving the most horrific ordeal. What a brave lady and a real inspiration. God bless her and the other girls who endured unbelievable torture and survived.

Harrowing yet courageous

This book had me completely hooked, the story was harrowing beyond anything you could imagine. Michelle Knight is such a courageous and inspiring woman I can wait to hear the following book. If there was any downside it would be that the narrators voice wasn’t as expressive as the story deserved.

The defintion of strength

Very interesting read and thank you for giving us a snippet into your life.
I really want you to meet with joey in the future.
You are his mother and it won't be long before he reaches the age where he can make his own decisions on weather he gets to meet you.
You're a very strong person and more power to you. All my love x

Mediocre

Would you try another book written by Michelle Knight and Michelle Burford or narrated by Maria Cabezas?

No

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The voice wasn't easy to listen to and it wasn't formatted well. The story was meaningful but it offered very little more than media reports/accounts.

Must try before you judge

Not for the squeamish or judgemental, this heart-wrenching account is beautifully read and portrayed. Your heart will break many times over with her honest account of her life and its descent into the dangerous path that led her to the
monster's door.

Sad story, with an uplifting message

Despite enduring the worst treatment, Michelle Knight's attitude and message is so inspiring. Shows that evil doesn't always triumph over good.

Incredible, raw and honest

Incredible story. I had to stop listening a few times because of the raw and honest detail in the chapters. if this was a physical book I would have had to stop reading many more times unable to see due to my tears. Amazing women with such a beautiful outlook on life after what she endured during this year's.

Great read

wanted to know more about Michelle after watching a film based on her ordeal at the hands of Castro "The Dude". I wanted to understand why she went with him in the first place.
Turns out she'd already spent years going through a tortuous Hell even before that time.
She may be tiny but she sure is mighty! I hope all her dreams come true - she's been through 2 decades long versions of Hell and deserves every piece of Heaven on Earth she can get.

Deeply sad story from an amazing woman

Very inspirational life and outlook from Michelle Knight who's experienced so much heartbreak. the narrator I had to power through and I didn't like her childish tone throughout the performance and pacing seemed at odds with the content of the book.
