Excellent all the way around

The story kept my interest from start to finish. The language was clean and the morals were well-established you had ample bad guys and villains to deal with, but good always wins out. Narrator was excellent. Will definitely listen to more from this writer

slow starter

Lisa Wingate is one of my favorite author but frankly this book was not great. The reader was not my favorite either, having done only a somewhat decent job when compared to this author's other readers. By 2/3 through I decided it just wasn't worth the time. Maybe something big was going to happen but I was always waiting for something to build. I have read probably 10-12 of this author but this was is getting returned.

Awful !!!

I have read many of Lisa Wingate books and have enjoyed all of them. I kept listening to this book Thinking it would improve but it didn’t. I thought I would just stop listening to it but I never did. I thought I was might as well finish it but I did not enjoy any of it.

Too much minutiae

Lisa Wingate’s books aren’t bad, but after reading them and especially the last two, I need a break!! She has a very hard time sticking to the point, continually going off topic with dreams and thoughts that verge on ruining the story itself. The books are just a bit too smarmy for real life. I know it’s escape, but come on!! After reading her first book “Before We Were Yours”, which was a good read, I thought why not read more, but the books keep getting sappier and less believable... IMO

Unexpected pleasure

Lisa Wingate has written another winner that keeps readers engaged from the first sentence to the last. While this love-at-first sight offering might seem a bit cliche at the onset, Lisa's characters are wound together in such a way as to present a depth not often found in such novels.

Whether you're familiar with the Moses Lake series or not, this story is a highly entertaining read that can't be missed.

Firefly Island

Good plot but the main character was too verbose. I just wanted her to get to the point. There is a Moses Lake in Texas but nothing like this fictional one. I wish the author had made up a name instead.
