Set in Memphis, Tennessee, and northern Mississippi, The Rabbit Factory presents a wildly diverse cast of characters who are looking for love, but not necessarily in all the right places. Helen is a sex-starved alcoholic who combs the local bars looking for the one thing her sugar daddy can't give her. Imagine Central Park buried under tons of snow. Only it’s not snow. It’s cocaine. Four thousand pounds of it. Uncut. Blanketing meadows and treetops. Knocking birds from the sky, dropping carriage horses to the pavement, and cutting a swath of death through the thousands of unsuspecting joggers, cyclists, and picnickers enjoying a summer afternoon in Central Park. So begins the war between Joaquín Alboroto, the most powerful drug lord on the planet, and his most hated enemy: the city of New York. The task falls on the shoulders of former NYPD captain Danny Corcoran.

Loved It! 45 Stars!
This is professional entertainment at its best. Karp and Stechschulte have brought the comedy detective team of Lomax & Biggs back to life in a series you really should start from the beginning with "Rabbit Factory". Yeah...Karp shamelessly contrives the characters, clues, and scenics to make this a listen a frolic.
You like enjoyable? Then listen to this whole series. I sure will. Let's see, with "Flipping Out" I've given these books 45 STARS so far. And hopefully the next one will squeeze another 15 to that total. Can't wait to find out.

Good comic mystery with surprises.
I like the Lomax-Biggs duo. The plot is a bit of a stretch, but this is just "light reading" and, while it isn't likely to win any awards for great writing, the dialog is believable and often witty. There are several twists and turns that will keep you guessing, but the story moves right along. This is on a par with #2 in the series (Bloodthirsty) and better than the first (Rabbit Factory.) I look forward listening to the fourth. Tom Stechschulte does a terrific job giving voice to the many, varied characters, making it much more fun to listen to than to read.

Great read(listen)
I read Karp's first two books, and this is the first I listened to the audio. I enjoyed it immensly. I found myself arriving late to appointments because I didn't want to stop listening at certain points, and listening longer than I normally do within my schedule. Those are the best signs for me.
I could tell you more about the plot, the characters, but you can get that from the generic reviews. I'm just giving you the general impression from a reader/listener.
Interesting topic, flipping houses. Think I'll stay away from it.
This is a very worthy audiobook, with the wonderful Lomax and Biggs characters, a return of the father, Jim, and some new interesting characters. You will enjoy it.
The narrator did a very nice job.

So-So
Not really very good. I listened to the whole thing because I was so far into it and just wanted to finish. The ending is one that the author added to have a "twist" but was never really developed in the story.

Mediocre Police Procedural
First note - I'm sure the reader is a talented voice actor but... his efforts to grace every major character with an individual sound led to the comic exaggerations that one hears in cheaply dubbed movies ... Plus the array of old-fashioned NYC accents seem wildly inappropriate for the SCAL location. I had to laugh out loud at times.
Now, to the story. Well, the hook for me was the Real Estate angle (I'm a Realtor) and the Real Estate parts didn't hold together that well , as in I kept wondering why the "flippers" were doing some things and why they had come together etc... Now, as to the murder mystery itself, well, it was a conclusion that you could not have seen coming and one that was not foreshadowed in any way. It was forced and unsatisfying.
However, along the way, there are funny moments and character development and it does move right along. I'm not inclined to buy another by this author and would be hesitant to buy this reader but, as the 2 star rating says "IT WAS OK"

Great story.... moment to moment
I enjoy humor in a book, but usually the story isn’t that exciting when it has funny lines. This story is great, and it was fun and exciting to read.
