Publisher's Summary

Studying abroad for her master's program, all Lia Ward knows is that she's a little lonely and Jude McAllister’s very charming, even as they have an epically sexy argument about which type of football is superior.

In Jude's mind, shagging the feisty American girl is exactly what he needs. He’s been fighting the clock of his long-standing football career and the younger players primed to take his position. Proving that he can feel like his old self again - something he's been trying to do with everyone in his life - should be easier after blowing off steam with Lia.

But oh baby, when a plus sign pops up on Lia's pregnancy test, that one night becomes a whole lot more. Now Lia and Jude have to navigate their impossible-to-ignore chemistry and prepare for the parenting game, something neither of them knows how to play.

Good story, uneven narration

I enjoyed the story here; the Wards have such a great family dynamic and while Lia is probably the sibling I was least interested in, I loved the latest hero we have in Jude. He is dynamic and so compelling; I wanted to know more about him and felt that he truly showed character development over the course of the story. Lia got on my nerves at times, but she too did have a clear character arc. Karla Sorensen is adept at crafting interesting characters and I look forward to Isabel’s book!

My problem with this book came with the female narrator’s performance - Em Eldridge is just not a narrator I find particularly skilled or enjoyable to listen to. Her delivery lacks modulation and her tone is rather flat. She also narrated Molly’s story (Focused) and I had problems with her performance there, too. I tried to give her another go with this book, but she hasn’t improved. Her cadence just hits my ear wrong and I find it hard to let myself get wrapped up in the story in her chapters, which is frustrating; I constantly felt pulled out of the story during her chapters. So, I will be avoiding performances by her in future. Oliver Hunt was a new to me narrator and he was excellent as the male lead; his performance really added to my engagement with Jude as a character and is the only reason there are any stars for narration on this title.

Overall, it’s worth listening to this one, especially if you have been a faithful follower of the Ward siblings; HOWEVER, I would suggest borrowing it thru hoopla/your library or waiting for a really good deal on Audible.

Love the Ward sisters!

I enjoyed this book when it came out and I was excited for the audiobook. I was not disappointed. The narrators did a good job of bringing this cute story to life. Highly recommend!!

The Ward Sisters

At first I thought I could credit the female narrator for my dislike of Molly and Lia in books 1 & 3… however the longer I’ve thought about it, I realize I just don’t like the way the female characters are written in these books. (Book 2 was a solid 5 stars btw. I hope Claire isn’t the only sister who is a mature adult that has some common sense; I’m rooting for you Isabelle!)
Molly I felt was a weak pushover and IMHO I feel like Lia is entitled and spoiled.
The way that Jude had to go to her really bothers me; he left his lucrative career as a professional athlete, to go to Lia who wanted to be by her family. It just felt selfish and childish to me the more I thought about it after finishing the story. Lia doesn’t even have a job and can’t decide what she wants to do with all of her schooling. (Hey Jude-that’s a red flag.) I can see why he made the decision to leave England in the beginning, however Lia has her own abandonment issues and mommy issues that I’m not quite sure she deals with.
There are just certain parts of the book that don’t quite mesh with me, even after listening for a second and third time.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a better listen on book 4.

Ok book

The female narrator made it really hard to enjoy this story. Her way of talking was quite annoying. Overall a cute book though.

Another Ward sister hit

Listening to and reading this series has had me laughing more than any other book series in a long time and has actually evoked tears. Maybe I’m turning mushy. Maybe it’s hormones. Maybe it’s Maybelline, who knows. All I know is that I love this series and this author. So glad I found her.

Great Story robotic narration

Absolutely loved the story. To be honest the only bad thing about this is the female narrator. She was extremely robotic and lacked modulation. It made it difficult to listen to her chapters. The male narrator was very good though and quite enjoyed his chapters.

Great Book but read it instead due to female narrator being just awful

I loved immersing myself in the Ward Family world, and Leah’s story. Both Jude and Leah had an unexpected turn in their relationship but so glad they got their HEA. What a shame for the female narrator, she was unbearable (male narrator wasn’t too bad), sure hope the Karla Sorenson can request someone else for the the final Ward Sister book!!
