Publisher's Summary

'Tis the season for mulled wine, mince pies and magic under the mistletoe.

Flora loves Christmas more than anything else in the world, so she's gutted when her Scrooge-alike boss fires her from Deck the Halls Christmas emporium. But now she finally has a chance to follow her dreams, and what better place to start than the home of Christmas?

Before she can say sleigh bells, Flora's on her way to Lapland in a campervan-cum-Christmas-shop. She cant wait to spend her days drinking hot chocolate and taking reindeer-drawn carriage rides, but something Flora didn't expect was meeting Connor, a Norse god of a man who makes her heart flutter and snowflakes swirl in her stomach. There's just one problem: Connor hates Christmas.

Can Flora convince Connor of the joys of Christmas, and will she find a festive romance along the way?

The perfect Christmas romance for fans of Debbie Johnson, Holly Martin and Jenny Colgan.

Delightful

I'm not a big fan of Christmas since my Mom passed, but the character Flora is just so ebullient that I got caught up in her joie de vivre. Conner is her polar opposite yet she is so infectious even he can't resist her charm. She is a bit Ditzy and not your average romance beauty. I find the traveling market culture fascinating and very European. I liked the witty banner among characters. It is definitely a feel good book.

perfect cute light cozy read for the holiday time.

I struggle with the holiday times. I adore Rebecca Raisin's Traveling series and this was a perfect light read for the time of year. Thank Rebecca for getting me through the holiday season.

It is what it is

If you begin this book needing a read with no stress and an easy plot, then you won’t be disappointed. Just go into it knowing it will be a thin plot and uncomplicated characters. Except Flora. She is needlessly exhausting, and not in a cute or quirky way. She has a lot of maturing to do.

Narrator spoils experience

The story was ok - I love Christmas markets. I was totally put off by the gabbling of the narrator. It was a real turn off from the story.

Cute story about personal growth and belief in the magic of Christmas

It started out rough, I really didn’t like Flora. I almost stopped listening. But I’m glad I kept going. About chapter 8 was when it started getting good.

However, later in the story the author takes the Lord’s name in vein several times, which I didn’t like. Thankfully it was a clean romance and the author didn’t do anything in the story that made me blush. But I did laugh, several times!

I loved the descriptions of Lapland. Now I wanna go! Lol

Caught my attention from the get go. Perfect narrator for the book, incredibly funny and warm story and laughing out loud moments. Kept a smile on my face the whole way through.

This was a lovely book for listening to over the festive season, while doing my Christmas jigsaw by the fire. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Loved this story

The first book I've listened to by this author. A lovely, sweet story. Will definitely check out more of her books.
Would be very happy to follow the main characters of this book on more adventures too.

The performance

The main character, Flora, isn’t a very likable person. She has a persecution complex, is rude to people, and free-loads off her best friend. But to make her completely unlikable, here comes the narration. It’s shrill but not monotone as she was in One More Christmas at the Castle (which I returned at the 20% mark.)
Shame I could not return this one as well, as I quit listening at 10% and read the kindle book instead.
