Fun listen!

I enjoyed the travel theme and the characters; though I found the narration a bit irritating. The voice of Winnifred Crane was whiny sounding; though I liked the voice used for the Duke. Overall, it didn’t keep me from listening. I liked some of Kate Noble’s other books a little bit better, but if you liked her others books, I think you will enjoy this one too! Fun listen!

Cute story

I enjoyed this story. It had a few slow scenes that I easily sped up, but otherwise it was an engaging plot with likable characters. The narrator is an excellent story teller. Her inflections, pacing, humor, and dialog spark were spot on. Just a note to the author: Horses don't lap water. They suck water up into their mouths between their lips. Cats and dogs lap water. SPOILER: I was a little surprised by the cussing. Also wasn't expecting an intimate scene, because up until the last quarter, it came across as a clean romance.

Enjoyable

I love it when an author can make a series be able to have each story stand on it’s own own and yet make each story so enjoyable that you are eager to go to the next. I read the story out of sequence accidentally but in the end it did not matter. A bit of mystery, a bit of fun. The banter between the main characters was entertaining. The way they got in and out of scrapes kept me listening. In the end She was a strong woman who had to learn that independence does not have to mean loneliness.

Boring travelogue, unrealistic, dumb choices.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone looking for "adventures in traveling" books.

What do you think your next listen will be?

A true historical ROMANCE

Which character – as performed by Alison Larkin – was your favorite?

She performs all her characters well. Wasted on this one.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Follow My Lead?

The entire, lengthy road to the goal.

Any additional comments?

I'm surprised publishers keep printing books with this tired--long drawn out journey of the main characters with the same adventures. Like clicking repeat/replay!!

The best so far…

Follow My Lead is the best of the series I’ve listened to so far, and I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st two. There is something so driven, so compelling about Winifred as a heroine and as a role model that I was along for her ride upon meeting her. This book is the one, among the 3 so far, that convinces me there’s a movie (or 3 or 5) or limited Netflix series in here. Now to whom among the very few people in the industry I know to send these books?

Love this series!

Great story and narration! The only thing that would have made it better is if or didn’t have the sex scenes! Thankfully I can skip them, but it’s still annoying!

Too sexually explicit

Entertaining story with good development of characters and writing but ruined for me by being too sexually explicit.

Disappointed

I enjoyed the first book and liked the second one even more. But this one was not good. I didn't like Winifred and the story went on and on.
But the worst was that the book just stopped. it didn't feel finished. so no epilogue to let you know what happened.

wonderful and witty read.

wonderful and witty read. Suspenseful but light. Characters are believable with just the right the right amount of imperfection to make them endearing

No. Just No!

This was my very least favorite of the series. Winifred Crane, was an awful person. Incredibly stupid, conceited, and dangerous to herself and others. Disliked her all the way through. Jason the hero I tried to like but he was just too weak and simpering. I was too through with him at the end when he let Winifred draw him back in after his engagement to Sara, after jilting him for six months and going off to enjoy herself then coming back to disrupt everyone's life all over again. She really got under my skin!! I absolutely pity the kids from those two if they do in fact get married! George made a good villain. Having dealt with Winifred for so many years I can understand his insanity. Found it very hard to finish this one but forced my way through because wanted happy ending for Jason, but was not. It left too many people hurt and raw in aftermath of their selfishness!

Hard to be honest

Quite frankly, I didn’t enjoy this tale, it was too long and too involved and again, quite frankly, not engaging in its improbability. Perhaps a ‘Blue Stocking’ tale is not to my liking, although it starts off really well and very amusingly, it wobbles when George enters the scene and the implausibility begins.

This includes the beginning of the follow up book, which sounds interesting and hopefully more endearing. I shall try it.
