Publisher's Summary

Tucker Wright’s Clues for Life:

What’s a four-letter word for an utterly oblivious, totally commitment-phobic, heartbreakingly gorgeous man with a pet pig named Bernadette?

That’d be D-U-N-N, as in Dunn Johnson, my very best pal and fishing buddy since I moved to Licking Thicket.

What’s a six-letter word for a nerdy, crossword-loving town doctor who’s doomed to be hopelessly, thoroughly, irrevocably, in love with that straight best friend for the rest of his born days?

That’s T-U-C-K-E-R, as in me.

But when I agree to let Dunn be my 24/7 dating coach, and he decides to get our whole crazy town in on the act, there’s only one six-letter word to describe the pair of us.

I-D-I-O-T-S.

A sweet, quirky friends to lovers romance!

This is the third book in the series and can be read as a standalone.

Dunn and Tucker's relationship is quirky and so wholesome!!

I loved this cute friends to lovers romance small town romance.

Dunn and Tucker's relationship had an easy comfort to it which I enjoyed. The chemistry build up between them was intense and palpable.

The tone of the story was lighthearted and angst free.

The narration was enjoyable and engaging.

Laugh out loud

Dunn and Tucks story was as funny as the first two. I started it this morning and didn’t stop it until I finished it. Highly recommended. Lucy and May are a great writing duo. You can tell that they must fed off each other’s story telling. Of course Michael Dean as always very enjoyable to listen to.

Laugh out loud adorableness

The third in the series (must listen to Fakers first and Liars second), this story was just as sweet (and sexy) as the first two. I have to admit that I laughed out loud on so many occasions that my husband thought I was going crazy. The adorable town of Licking Thicket and its crazy, quirky inhabitants have found their way into my heart. Many, many wonderful moments of sheer genius in the clever, witty writing. But equally wonderful in storytelling is the narrator Michael Dean. He really brought all three stories to life. Yep, the sexy connections between the lead characters in each story are incredibly hot, which on balance makes this series one of my favorites. I'm hoping there will be a fourth, with a love interest for Carter. Well worth the purchase or Audible credit!!!

Disappointing for the usually great Lennox

I've been a huge fan of Lucy Lennox for several years (Made Marian series, Forever Wilde series, Aster Valley series, After Oscar series, and many standalones). All have been excellent. This is the first title of hers with which I've been truly disappointed. It has plenty of small town atmosphere and the quirky characters we would expect in the Thicket, however there is NO story, as such.

(Possible spoilers ahead!) There is no villain or threat, no plot goal (something to be won or accomplished or overcome), etc. It is only about "will they or won't they". Will the two main characters realize they were meant for each other?

Most of the dialog seems to be either giddy townsfolk chit chat (way too much of that here!), or inner dialog detailing the angst of one character or the other. There was no real plot or action, nor story line as such.

I found this to be very boring, as there was nothing to "root for" and no suspense. As a listener I had zero rooting interest except, of course, that one wants to see the meant-for-each-others get together (but we know this will happen).

I suppose one can't totally fault Ms. Lennox, since we don't know how the collaboration with Ms. Archer works, nor what Ms. Archer's contribution or influence may have been. However, fans of Ms. Lennox (of which I am one) should be warned that this is not her usual excellent combination of plot (none here!), character and atmosphere.

Michael Dean's narration is, as always, flawless and spot on. He is superb with what he was given. The characters and atmosphere are good. It's just too bad there's no story (as such) here.

Absolutely wonderful

Mrs Johnson is the coolest! You'll love Licking Thicket. You'll laugh and cry. Probably simultaneously. Every character is well written.

Engaging characters all around make for a delightful tale that keeps readers reading this author.

Sleepy

This series is getting too predictable and formulamatic. Also all of these romance novels try and make gay characters fit into straight molds socially. I would prefer to see a more realistic portrayal. All gay men are not into monogamous relationships, but still have happy healthy relationships in the open and by mutual consent,...or not. It becomes tiresome seeing characters forced into a different standard than reality. It’s no ones place to judge but those involved in the relationship.

So much fun

I can't remember when I last laughed so much through an entire book! I love Licking Thicket to bits and these two deserved their HEA so much. Even if their way to find it was the most complicated I've even seen...

Freakin’ Amazing! 🤩🤩

May Archer abs Lucy Lennox are absolutely brilliant in this collaboration for ‘Fools - Licking Thicket #3’ 🥰

I can understand why this is the favourite, it’s sheer brilliance. 😊
This audiobook has had me laughing one minute, screaming out loud the next in frustration - but ultimately laughing throughout.

What I love about this series is that all the ‘regular Thicket’ characters are included too. Just amazeballs!! 😁

Another great narration by Michael Dean - oh that voice!! (Swoon 🥰)

I’d give a 100🌟‘s if I could ☺️

Looking forward to hearing the next audiobook 🥰

Fun romantic series

This is the third book in the series and possibly my favourite as well as an excellent continuation of the Licking Thicket story, possibly the 'Gayest town' in the whole universe. The likeable characters and ever surprizing storyline make this the type of thing you can dip into again and again. I highly recommend giving it a go.

Adorable idiots

Another cute, hilarious addition to the Licking Thicket series. I love the town, and both boys. The characters were well written and watching them blunder through was so fun. At times the story did waffle a bit, but Michael Dean's performance carried it so I didn't get bored.

I really hope Carter's story is next.
