Publisher's Summary

Greer Parker had her life planned out. She’d follow in her father and brothers’ FBI footsteps, and then she’d become the first female director. Now on loan to the president’s off-the-books black ops group, Greer is at a crossroads in her life: Go back to the FBI or forge a new path? The decision is about to become more complicated when the man Greer can’t decide if she loves or hates needs to be rescued - and she’s the only one who can save him.

Sebastian Abel’s best friend, the president, asked for a favor. Little did Sebastian know that developing code for a new spy satellite would find him kidnapped. When all hope is lost, he thinks about Greer Parker, the sweet girl next door with a sniper rifle. He had no business thinking of Greer in the many ways he was thinking of her. The trouble was Greer infuriated him by rolling her eyes at him and refusing to keep herself out of danger. Sebastian finds himself constantly worried about a woman he didn’t want...or was it that he shouldn’t want?

Explosions, daring rescues, a town racing to help, and all the apple-pie bribes lead to two strong personalities ending the charade that it hasn’t been love all along. Is the small town of Keeneston ready for what happens when someone puts the woman Sebastian Abel loves in the crosshairs? Or the better question: Are they prepared for what Greer Parker will do to protect the man she loves?

Finally Sebastian & Greer's story. They have been circling for quite a while now. This story makes up for the long wait. I enjoyed the full 'coming out' of Birch's special group (see Web of Lies series) and a little about what they are doing now. I also enjoyed the whole satellite, spying & our utter dependence on using 'outer space' in our daily lives. An interesting perspective. Using North Korea & China as the aggressors is fitting, I feel like they are both hoping to move under the radar with Russia being in the highlight right now.

Forever Lies

Loved this installment of the Forever Bluegrass series. The narrator, Eric G. Dove, brings the story to life, and the author, Kathleen Brooks, is a creator of a cast of characters the you really wished existed in a place you would want to visit.

Please understand that while this book can be seen as a standalone book, the enjoyment level rises if you take the time to enjoy all of Ms. Brooks other books. The best place to start is with her first book titled, "Bluegrass State of Mind". Then you will see the growth of community and characters from there. Just so you know, she has other books that happen to crossover and some characters become connected to this series and those series are her Women of Power, Web of Lies and Shadows Landing. Sure, this might sound a little overwhelming, but as with this author and her talent to tell a tale, you will not feel overwhelmed at all. In fact, you will look forward to more and more. You see, these books will take you on a trip to a place you with existed, with characters you would want as real friends, and a happily ever after with such swoon worthy heroes.

Not to offer spoilers, but it takes some real talent to make a previously cold and unlikable character like Sebastian and change your feelings about him. You will shed a tear, you will laugh out loud, and you will be cheering for the story of Sebastian and Greer.

Definitely a 5 star rating.... if I could give more... I would. It is that good!

Greer Parker on morphine is hysterical!

Wow! I love Greer Parker, and Greer on morphine is the best! I know, I know, why would I say that? Well, it was the things that came out of her mouth! I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. Off the morphine, she is a badass, first-class, warrior woman and can stand toe-to-toe with the best of Keeneston. "She got it from her mama", and her dad and they taught her well. I love the respect the other members of her team gave her, well there is Sebastian, but what he does is out of love. Greer gives her all to save Sebastian when he is kidnapped and it's out of...love! Greer was everything I didn't expect and everything I was proud of by the end of the story. There was only one small moment where she didn't use her head because she didn't listen to her heart, but friends and family stepped in and helped her see her mistake. What mistake? You have to listen to hear.

Sebastian is everything I did expect him to be and more. Hearing his background made me understand and give him my full respect. Bash was not a wimp and could really handle himself, but he was not on the level of Greer. He was pretty much a man without real friends and he only truly trusted his best friend and Greer. I think these two are perfect for each other!

I am never disappointed with Eric G Dove he always does a stellar job!
