Publisher's Summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr comes the story of four friends determined to find their stride

Gerri can't decide what's more devastating: learning her rock-solid marriage has big cracks, or the anger she feels as she tries to repair them. Always the anchor for friends and her children, she realizes it's time to look carefully at herself. The journey is more than revealing—it's transforming.

Andy has come to believe that a lasting love is out of reach. When she finds herself attracted to a man without any of the qualities that usually appeal to her, she questions everything she thought she wanted in life.

Sonja's New Age pursuit of balance is shattered when her husband walks out. There's no herbal tonic or cleansing ritual that can restore her serenity—or her sanity.

Miraculously, it's BJ, the newcomer to Mill Valley, who steps into their circle and changes everything. The woman with dark secrets opens up to her neighbors, and together they get back on track, stronger as individuals and unfaltering as friends.

Keep Going...

I had never heard of Robyn Carr until I watched Season One of Virgin River on Netflix. I'm sure the series has generated a lot of new followers. VIRGIN RIVER started with a bang, and I was hooked after the first few minutes.

I poured through the Virgin River Series, moved on to Sullivan's Crossing, Thunder Point and Grace Valley. Then I started looking at the stand-alone books. At this point I have read five or six of them. I keep lists of the books, checking them off as I go, but im not reading them in order, Wikipedia has a very complete list of Robyn's published work. I work alone at home and usually listen to books as I work. Some times I listen to a whole book in a day, and some times I listen to the same book a few more times to make sure I wasn't spacing out while I work. When I meet an author I like, I tend to reach out for all the titles. As a freshman in college it was Tolstoy. As a single, senior citizen living alone during the pandemic, I has been Robyn Carr. I'm so grateful to have found you, Robyn Carr. You kept me company during the past tear.

When I started listening to FOUR FRIENDS, I thought it might be the one I could not finish. Getting to the heart of the story was hard. Lucky for me I was busy with my work, and I didn't want to interrupt so I kept listening. Before I knew it Robyn Carr had me again, I came to love the story of Geri, BJ, Sonja, and Andy crept into my heart, and I was happy to keep listening. Robyn Carr's books sometimes greet me very slowly. Its a lovely story of generous friends, strong women and menchie , imperfect men. The book as some great side stories of kids coming of age, and Bob showed up to speak to ethical questions and make is believe that love is for everyone.

And now, I am off to the next one. Thank you, Robyn Carr.

A note about the audio books: Since I have read so many at this point, I find that that Therese Plummer's voices carry from one novel to another, so I some times get confused about which novel I am hearing. I wish for a diversity of narrators so that most characters will have their perfect voice. she's a very good narrator, however.

Loved the reader!

Although I so liked this reader the book was actually somewhat disappointing to me. It is a good example of friendship & I loved the characters ( especially Geri) but don’t think the very graphic descriptions of the love making was necessary to the story and, in fact, took away from it, made it a bit to “smutty” for my taste.

Didn't want to put this book down

Takes a moment to understand the characters but once you do this is a great book, easy read, didn't want to put the book down. Had my attention until the list page. Love the person reading the book.

All the laughs, all the feels, all the love

I love Robyn Carr and her ability to create characters full of depth, complexity and emotion, from all walks of life, really.
This book starts out with a group of friends, each one having their own quirks (one in particular) ... I cracked up several times during some of their chats :) They were sooo funny!

But before you know it ... life hits hard and you even start to feel bad for having laughed and for having only thought of them as funny characters before.
It's a beautiful book. Prepare to laugh. Prepare some tissues, too.
And enjoy listening to how Therese Plummer's takes this to a whole new level with her narration.

Best story line

I loved this story line, felt every emotion. Gerie is my heroe, but Sonia portraits a passion many of us lack or hide. Take a chance and enjoy!

Very good book

I really like the story line. A little more four letter words than I like.

Loved this story

I just finished the Virgin River series (much to my chagrin) and was looking for another Carr book. Stumbled onto this one and loved every minute of it. I related best to Jeri. Her story hit a few notes with me. Very cute story.
