The zoo’s top brass claim the hippo went belly up the natural way, but Teddy and his feisty friend Summer McCraken have other ideas. Could the culprit be FunJungle’s animal-hating head of operations? So you're only halfway through your homework and the director of the FBI keeps texting you for help...What do you do? Save your grade? Or save the country?

But when he teaches it to his new friend Margaret, they uncover a mystery that isn't little. In fact, it's huge, and it involves the National Gallery, the FBI, and a notorious crime syndicate known as EEL.

Who Doesn't Want to be an FBI Agent?
Every kid does, right? It's a perfect premise for high adventure and intricate mystery. Ponti pulls it off masterfully. Enough details to make it believable and enough action to keep you reading. It's amazing that I didn't see the twist coming at the end. I would have loved this book as a kid.
Narrator Holden keeps the tension up and throws in a dash of humor, making a very enjoyable listen. His accents for the non-american characters are good. He's completely believable as a 12-year-old detective, a cool, experienced FBI agent, and a crime boss. So well done!

Fun YA Spy/Cozy Mystery Book
This book reminds me a lot of some of the Stuart Gibbs books. A little bit of humor and a bit of mystery mixed with a bit of outlandishness. Overall it is kind of a young Sherlock Holmes crossed with Get Smart, Fun Jungle, and Spy School. Brian Holden does a good job at telling the story. I can't say anything really stands out as being particularly great but nothing stood out as bad about the performance either. Either way I would recommend this fun book for kids and adults both.
