Story
Founded in London in 1717 as a way of binding men in fellowship, Freemasonry proved so addictive that within two decades it had spread across the globe. Masonic influence became pervasive. Under George Washington, the Craft became a creed for the new American nation. Masonic networks held the British empire together. Under Napoleon, the Craft became a tool of authoritarianism and then a cover for revolutionary conspiracy. Both the Mormon Church and the Sicilian mafia owe their origins to Freemasonry.

The Knights Templar existed officially for less than 200 years. Founded to protect pilgrims who were travelling through the Holy Lands, their rise to power was sudden. They became some of the most feared warriors in the region, they had a mandate from God, they controlled perhaps the world's first real banking system, and they waged war against anyone who tried to wrestle Christianity and seize holy grounds from the control of the Catholic Church.

Story
Freemasonry, though not a religion, is essentially religious. Most of its legends and allegories are of a sacred nature; much of it is woven into the structure of Christianity. We have learned to consider our own religion as the only inspired one, and this probably accounts for much of the misunderstanding in the world today concerning the place occupied by Freemasonry in the spiritual ethics of our race. A religion is a divinely inspired code of morals. A religious person is one inspired to nobler living by this code. He is identified by the code, which is his source of illumination.

In 1307, as they struggled to secure their last strongholds in the Kingdom of Jerusalem, the Templars fell afoul of the vindictive and impulsive king of France. On Friday, October 13, hundreds of brothers were arrested en masse, imprisoned, tortured, and disbanded amid accusations of lurid sexual misconduct and heresy. They were tried by the Vatican in secret proceedings. But were they heretics or victims of a ruthlessly repressive state?

Story
Manly P. Hall, masonic and esoteric scholar, traces the path followed by initiates to the ancient craft. Hall also recounts the ethical training required of a Freemason, and he profiles the character traits a Mason must "build" within himself. More than a mere social organization a few centuries old, Freemasonry can be regarded as a perpetuation of the philosophical mysteries and initiations of the ancients. This book reveals the unique and distinctive elements that have inspired generations of Masons.

Story
First published from 1872 to 1969, Morals and Dogma is one of the most insightful works ever prepared for Freemasonry. It is a collection of 32 essays which provide a rationale for the Scottish Rite degrees. It encompasses a study of Freemasonry, wise philosophy, ancient mysteries, mythology, ritual, and religion. It serves the useful purpose of putting Masonic morality and ethics within the context of the general society, and bids man to think large - to cast aside the petty concerns of everyday life and to improve ourselves.

In The Temple and the Lodge, Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh reveal the survival and evolution of a world-changing order through the birth of the Masonic lodge. Recounting the brutal events in the 14th century that led to the sudden disappearance of the Knights Templar - a powerful military and banking order founded in 1119 and active in the Crusades - the authors document the Templars' reappearance in the court of excommunicate Scottish king Robert the Bruce.

Born through Adam Weishaupt, in 1776, the secret society group known as the Illuminati have been wreaking havoc on the world ever since. They have fomented wars and have manipulated events from behind the shadows to diabolically implement their agenda of a new world order. People have heard of the Illuminati through popular culture, but most brush off their existence as nothing more than some "conspiracy theory" hatched by conspiracy theorists without doing any valid research that would perhaps discount their existence.

The Founding Fathers tried to protect us from the threat they knew, the tyranny that overcame ancient democracy. Today, our political order faces new threats, not unlike the totalitarianism of the 20th century. We are no wiser than the Europeans who saw democracy yield to fascism, Nazism, or communism. Our one advantage is that we might learn from their experience.

Publisher's Summary
Freemasons have in many ways shaped the world as we know it today. Discover the hidden history of the secret society of Freemasonry in the last 100 years and the conspiracy theories that followed.
In their three centuries of official existence, Freemasons have been routinely praised and despised, regularly cheered and derided. Some believe that they are a fraternal organization that promotes leadership and good character, while others are convinced that they are a secretive cabal hell-bent on world domination. Mason-backed organizations such as the Shriners are praised for their charitable giving, while other lodges are held in contempt for their secretiveness.
When it comes to stark dichotomies such as this, the argument to moderation would indicate that the truth lies somewhere in between. Well, fallacious as that argument is, Freemasonry would still be a riveting tale even if it did fall neatly between both sides of the equation!
In this book we will explore the last 100 years of Freemasonry, as well as the larger implications of Masonic influences and practices.
We will also discuss Masonry’s latest trends and probable future trajectory. So, if you don’t know already - listen to this book to learn the full story of what really goes on in that quiet, nondescript little lodge on the corner! Because despite what your grandfather may have told you, there is more going on than card games, pancakes, and fish fries!
Here, in one concise chronological timeline, we uncover the last 100 years of Freemasonry!

Very informative almost creepy😳
A lot of history is mingled with the hand of the Freemason and their connection to world events is intriguing to say the least. This is a great book to give you a background on the history and people involved that was in a sense sensational and even scandalous to put it quite honestly but that’s what makes this book so good. I recommend it!

Speculation?
The title of the book should have been “the conspiracies of freemasonry over the last 100 years”.
This publication goes on to tell you about all of the conspiracies that of happened just to be followed up with a tabloidish “but there’s no proof to back this” .
The reader emphasizes words to try to peak your curiosity or trick you into believing it’s true and then calmly talks about how none of these allegations are backed.
