Shadows begin to shift in the rambling, old Victorian farmhouse she’s purchased. Voices come from nowhere. She can feel the eyes on her. Paul Bradford, a contractor who is bidding the renovation work on the house, believes it’s more than just Allison’s imagination conjuring up the paranormal activity. Love this series!
I love this series more and more with every book. I swear these women could be my best friends and I'm like half their age! We love the same shows (*shout-out to The Originals references!) and have some of the same reactions! I mean, look at how I talk about these main characters, like they're real and not just fictional beings. They feel real and sometimes it feels weird to know that they aren't. That's how you know that the author is talented and hard working.
The story is well thought out and the narrator captures the spirit of the characters wonderfully. I never wanted this book to end!

A fantastic blend of fact and fiction...
This is the third installment of the Mystery House Series by Eva Pohler and this story takes place in New Orleans, a locale famous for its jazz music and delicious cuisine as well as its long-standing role as a mecca of supernatural phenomena. Once again, our 3 leading ladies, Ellen, Sue, and Tanya, undertake the renovation of a reputedly haunted property and, once again, Ms. Pohler delivers a captivating, fast-paced story filled with mystery, suspense, and danger artfully entwined with historical fact and paranormal fancy to delight, enthrall, and thoroughly entertain her readers. With each book in this series we are given a bit more insight into the personal life of each of the main character’s which, in my opinion, engenders a growing attachment to these ladies as they go about their business of healing the troubled souls of both the living and the departed while refurbishing their newly acquired real estate investment. Like the other stories in this series, there is no shortage of paranormal incidents to ensnare the imagination while the drama of main story unfolds evoking a full gamut of emotions that is sure to keep your attention riveted until the very end. While there is some fairly dark subject matter in this story (as in all stories of this series), the mood of the story is not depressing but, rather, uplifting in that the main characters are always doing their level best to right any and all wrongs they encounter in their adventures. Additionally, delightful dashes of humor are strategically sprinkled throughout the story to keep the tension from becoming oppressive.
I enjoy reading along while I listen to the audio version of books and I was so glad that Debbie Andreen once again served as narrator for this story. She is gifted with a mellifluous voice that is a delight to listen to and she treats us to an exceptional performance by providing distinct vocalizations for each of the characters while utilizing the appropriate pace and tone for any given situation.
I was given an audio copy of this book by the author and I am voluntarily offering this honest and unbiased review.

Another great paranormal mystery
Another great paranormal mystery involving Ellen, Tanya and Sue and the renovation of a haunted mansion. This time the three fly to New Orleans to get assistance from a Voodoo priestess in order to free Tanya from what they think is a demon attachment. I love how the author not only creates a captivating story with realistic, amusing characters but she also incorporates true happenings from history and real-life places. The narrator did a great job of individualizing the characters and accents and really enhanced the story with her performance. This is an entertaining audiobook that has aspects of past injustices and atrocities, ghosts, secrets, friendship and a good splattering of humour. I look forward to reading more in this series

Enjoyable
I really enjoyed this. We quickly got closure from the last book and got to move on to New Orleans. Tanya, being the quiet one of the group got moved up to front and center. I loved the bits of history we learn in these books too. Very relateable and real feeling.
I listened through audible and loved the narrator as always, she plays these characters well, easy to tell who is who.

Great paranormal mystery from my favorite ladies
Another great mystery for my favorite group of ladies. This time it has a major paranormal affect. Tanya is acting strange and is sick. Turns out she has some sort of spirit attached to her. It doesn't always seem friendly. Ellen & Sue work together with some old and new friends to help her. Pretty soon they end up in New Orleans buying another house to help solve a mystery and fix up to help the community. These ladies sure know how to get themselves into a pickle. They are not only dealing with fighting past social injustice but they are also revealing secrets, dealing with a death, and stealing! That is just a small list of all they deal with. And did I mention some spirits that aren't too happy with their meddling? And just when you think they solved the mystery, you findout their work is not done yet. I loved every minute of this book. I couldn't stop listening/reading. I feel like I know these ladies personally and they take me on their investigations. I can't wait to see where life leads them next! And it seems the more they go on the spookier their interactions get. I highly suggest this book to mystery and paranormal fans. History buffs will also love it too. Just remember, this is fiction. This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Loved the rich history
I have been to NOLA once when I was younger and we went on a haunted tour. I remember the guide telling us about the Lalaurrie mansion and the atrocities that happened there. This story puts a different Fictional twist to the legend. I loved how the author spoke of the many different places in NOLA. I’m going back next month and am excited to see

Story: This series just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely love these ladies and what they do to help ghosts and the living finding peace. I love how the author incorporates the history with the renovations and how it develops into a great story.
This book brought tears to my eyes towards the end. So make sure you have some Kleenex handy. I loved it..
Audio: I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a well job narrating the series. I do recommend that you download this book on high quality so that you won’t hear the disturbances in between. I feel like the narrator brought the story to another level.
