Publisher's Summary

The weather is getting cold, but the frog population in New York is on the rise thanks to a magical mafia that has a unique method for getting their enemies out of the way. When wizard Owen Palmer at Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc., gets a cryptic threat that the secretive organization called the Collegium is gunning for them, Katie Chandler puts their wedding on hold and goes undercover as a compromised magical immune to infiltrate the enemy.

It's not easy pretending to work for a psycho who not only wants to take over MSI but also pull a coup in his own organization. It's even more difficult having to pretend to cut all ties with MSI. But with prominent magical citizens disappearing and anyone who crosses the magical mafioso landing on a lily pad, Katie knows she doesn't have a choice. It becomes personal when her friends become targets. It becomes an urgent crusade when Owen disappears.

When the final showdown comes, Katie's going to have to kiss a lot of frogs to have the allies she needs to save MSI - and if she ever wants to see her fiancé again.

Please don’t use this narrator for these books again

I love these books and also the ones about the Fairy Queen in NY. I have either read or heard all the books in both series and I love listening to these books whenever possible. The narrator for this one is droll and her cadence and tone inflections are absolutely not suited for these stories. I have never felt the urge to return a book for a refund so strongly before and it truly pains me to have to write this review but as I said before, the narrator’s voice is best suited for much drier material it seems.

Fun & Mystery

Eva Wilhelm is the perfect narrator for all the Enchanted Inc. series. Writer Shanna Swendson keeps you spellbound and chuckling . The magic and the mystery keeps the listener intrigued. Perfect listen for multitasking! Great brain candy, fun, and if you are into magic and love NYC then pure enjoyment is waiting for you...

Narrator ruin what would’ve been a great book!

Love this series so much!! Really HATE the narrator her cadence is all off and reflections are bad from book 1 to 7 she would end every sentence on a high note now with this book she ends it flat! It’s bad enough she’s not great at doing men’s voices but Katie’s voice not only changes from book to book but within each book! Book was great narrator really REALLY sucked!!

A MOST ENTERTAINING RIDE

This entire series is so full of fun and action, some you'll laugh, some you'll pull your hair out but you know they will always come out on top of the game.
The characters are from different walks but you will fall in love with them as you watch them fall in love with each other they are irresistibly charming.

I love this series

I love watching (well reading about) Katie and Owen. There was plenty of "what is going to happen" suspense and excitement. And I personally will be very upset if there isn't a book 9 in the works, simply because of how it ends. It feels like she could have many more books afterwards...but just one more if it wraps up the story would be okay...or switches who is the main character and they become side characters would be fine.

Love this series!

I was so happy to see another book in this series. They are light hearted and funny with plenty of magical twists. I'm not into the "feel good" type of stories. These hit the mark when I'm looking for something not too deep, dark or complicated, and has enough sexy interludes that it's not quite y.a.

funny addition to the series

I wondered if this book could build on the others without being the same. It's great, a bit of a whodunit/adventure/spy story that makes you think about the consequences of taking a new job.
