Seven books in Seven Days
OK, so I got a little obsessed! After watching True Blood for the last few weeks, I decided to read the novels that they're based on. I could find only #5 and #7 in my library, so decided to use the credits I so carefully hoard on Audible. Paper or player, these books were the Hagen-Das of my week. Kept going back for just one more! Didn't talk to my husband all week! Didn't even leave the house all week!
Audible, where is #4? I'm second on my library's list for #4...that could be 6 weeks! How will I last?
Review:
The Narrator is great! She IS Sookie! And everybody else.
The books are fun & sexy. Very sexy. They are full of imaginative ideas that make up a plausible world. Sookie is tough, sweet and very smart. She figures things out quickly & takes action. Her specialty is thinking outside the box that the vampires live in.
I think that this book, #8, has some more interesting plots twists than a few of the others and also has some nice cues for the future.
Big question...Eric or Bill?...or someone else?

Leaves ME wanting more...as usual!
As usual The Sookie series was very good, down to the very last drop! Sookies finds out so much and Charlaine the witer is expanding in so many ways to keep us all on our TOES! Which guy will Sookies end up choosing, I hope it will be... well, you listen to the book! Is she stuck up or is she just tired of getting hurt! I can't wait to see!

Fantastic, just like the rest of the series
Charaline did an excellent job on this installment of the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries.
She answered some lingering questions and opened the door for a few more. Great Read.. I mean listen.
The Narrator is still the same on that has narrated the other books, and she always does a great job.

One of the best in the series
I thorougly enjoyed this book, despite way too much rehashing of previous plotlines. The stories of Bill, Eric and Sookie converge here in a very satisfying way. The faerie subplot is further fleshed out in a very satisfying way and lots of twists and turns to keep you on your toes!

Left me waiting now for Number 9!
Unlike some of the other books there are a few events that occur in this book instead of one main one. I didn't think there was much repetition as some other readers have said, about the same as the other books but no more. Sookie's blood tie with Eric has her confused about her true feelings; her boyfriend Quinn has disappeared; Sam supports her in a major way in this book and a long lost relative finds her. I love the suspense in this book as I have in all the others but mostly really want to know....who will Sookie end up with? That question more than others intrigues me. If you are new to this series make sure you start with Book #1 and read sequentially. They can be read on their own but you will miss too much history to really have an appreciation for Sookie's character and dilemmas.

I'm rooting for Sam!
Every were and vampire Sookie gets around winds up getting her beaten, shot, staked, raped, and generally treated like hell. Alsead was a self centered ass, Quinn was a self centered ass (well, centered on his whack mom and can't find five minutes to call for WEEKS after Rhodes?) Bill feels terribly guilty for his horrible betrayal of Sookie, and Eric, well, Eric is still just self-centered Eric.
I think she should wind up with Sam! He is warm, loving, caring, (did I mention Warm?? As in his whole body is warm ... not a cold, dead body!)
I'm rooting for Sam . . . hey, I used to handle dead bodies for a living. Sleeping with one? Hooooo boy! NOT a nice thing to consider!
Rereading the whole series now, and really love Sookie, and since I listen to Audible, I can't tell you how much I love Johanna. She IS Sookie Stackhouse.

LOVE SOOKIE!
I've "read" all the books in the series and I'm happy to find out that we have quite a few more books to come, I can't get enough of it. However I agree with some comments here, that this book was not as good as the others. It seemed a bit slower, a lot of unnecessary parts, and I found myself not as usually captivated by Charlaine Harris' books. It was still a very good book, don't get me wrong. And I can't wait for the next one to come out. Hope audible.com has it on audio as soon as it comes out.

A good read, but not the best in the series
This next addition to the Sookie Stackhouse series brings up the possibility of new directions for Sookie. I love this series, and while I rated this book highly, I have to count it as not as good as some of the earlier books. It feels like Sookie is tired, and perhaps a little jaded. I don't want to spoil anything for the reader, so I will refrain from comments of a specific nature. I will say that I am looking forward to the new directions some of the occurences could travel.
The narration is only so-so. Sookie sounded like she needed a shot of lithium to perk her up a bit. Narration is certinaly an art, and while this vocalist is clearly good, I think Sookie can be matter of fact, and still retain her southern spunkiness.

From Dead to Worse
Harris has done it again! I've read all her books and love her heroine, Suki Stackhouse, a Southern sweetie with the ability to read other people's minds. And wishes she could lose that aspect of herself. Her friends and lovers, and former lovers are all "supers" - supernaturals. From Dead to Worse has Suki discovering a new and very intriguing relative... or two, during a time of upheaval in the world of vamps and were's, and the people who want them dead. This audiobook kept me listening till far into the night and going to work the next day with dark circles under my eyes from lack of sleep. Can't wait till the next book in this series!

Always Fun!
Sookie is growing up and with that comes maturity and some loneliness. The characters are always great. And even in the vampire world there were victims of Katrina! I would recommend reading these book in the series order. You will laugh and cry...and say "oh my".
