Why did you have to ruin it!!

I really enjoyed this series until this one. First it was dumbed it down. OMG!!! Even a five year old would find this condescending. Practically every dialogue or thought was repeated as though it had to be explained to an idiot. Example: Gondabar: "This can never happen again. This can never be repeated. It's essential that you continue as Royal Eagles, to ensure something like this will never happen again." Ingrid: "It will never happen again." AAAAAAHHH!! there were sooooo many passages like this I wanted to scream! Then you just had to make all the male characters stupid except Lasgol but of course he is incompetent, without his pets. The female characters are all perfect of course. This whole series is "Woke" enough but now you've turned big strong hulking Gerd into a nursemaid for Nilsa, Tough-guy, heartless and street-wise Viggo initiates a heartfelt, emotion based, meaningful dialogue with Ingrid and finally Lasgol stands up to proclaim that boys and girls are the same and that Camu can choose whether he wants to be a boy or a girl! I'm so over this series!!

Unnecessary Statments and Political Wokeness

I have listened to all of these books in this series over the last couple of months. I really liked it until this one. As another reviewer stated, there is wokeness in here. Men and women are not the same, they can do many of the same things, women are better at some things and men at another. Then, when you take Camu and throw in the you can choose whatever you want to be (boy or girl)...that's not biology. Every animal I can think of (which is a lot) knows what sex they are, whether we as humans see what we expect or not.

Every male character in this is seen as weak or an overbearing idiot who thinks with his muscles (and other parts) and not his brains. I was happy to see the King of the West gain some strength but then you took Gyrd and Viggo ans made them mentally, emotionally weak - countering your bios. It is sad to see this in this latest installment. Sadly, this will be my last book of this series.

The narrator did a great job as usual!

Narration was great, but the story wasn't

I have liked the series but this one went to woke for me. stating there is no difference in boys and girls, plus you can choose if you're a boy or girl.

Narration was great as always.

Very nice continuation of a fun series with lots of loves le characters! This edition ties up some loose ends. I am well satisfied in how it was done!! Then, it opens a great new horizon. The ride continues….

Back To Learning...

So, the performance is amazing as always. Never have an issue with determining who is who. He really manages to come up with distinct voices that remain perfectly sorted. You never have slip ups with like using one person's voice for another like in some audiobooks.

That said, the last thing anyone needs is more school. Six of the books was just that. It has been nice to see them out there doing the jobs they trained hard for. I'm not saying Superior Rangers isn't a novel idea, I'm just saying that it was more fun to see then putting their hard earned skills to use.

Plus, the mission needed far more time than was allotted it. This book felt more like 3 different novels glued together than a singular story. the last few books were so good because the stories felt concise and coherent. There was very little fat, just meat. The redeeming factor is that the Author has such experience with this style of storytelling that so long as the rushed ending is ignored, the story's plot can be considered to be executed well. In any event I'll keep reading, just hope we finish this new school jaunt soon.

A mixed bag

This is a weird series. The author said that it’s ok for age 9 and up but there’s definitely certain things that I wouldn’t want my small child hearing. The language isn’t bad, but not always appropriate. There is also veiled references to many acts that you probably wouldn’t want your small child reading. Plus, well, the author can get preachy and silly at times. I don’t want my child hearing “if you think you’re a boy then you’re a boy”. No, absolutely not. We get enough of that from society. If someone wants to make a decision as an adult, then so be it. I do not want my child exposed to this though.

Enchanting

Well executed with captivating narration. A long series but worth it.
An outline (index) of characters and events would be nice.

worst yet

come on. when they were in the camp they never won a contest all of a sudden they're unbeatable. while they still act like little kids 95% of the time. then they are tasked with stopping the dark rangers who dislike the king and how he is running the show. yet egel who is supposedly going to be the King of the West is out hunting these people who feel the same way about the king. he is forced to let them either be tortured in hang or live a life of hard labor. the storage spans so far are roughly six or seven years they go to camp about 14 15 years old they're now in their early twenties but yet they still act like babies I mean are they going to grow up or not

Keep the woke crap out

Gender and identity politics now? Stop ruining the series. Does absolutely nothing but take you out of the story and ruin it.

wicked

the story gets better and now can't wait for the next one, this is a slow story with a lot in it and it's expertly written
