A note from the author: With Full House, Charlotte Hughes and I teamed up to create an exciting new series. Now we bring you the second audiobook, Full Tilt, filled with even more fast-paced action, crazy characters, steamy sex, suspense, and nonstop hilarity. While these audios are not set in the world of Stephanie Plum, we're convinced they will bring you all the fun, wisecracks, and the adventure that we love.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Publisher's Summary
Filled with Evanovich's trademark style and wit, Full House is romantic suspense with a twist...
Polo instructor Nicholas Kaharcheck senses danger the minute he sees Billie Pearce. She represents everything he's always avoided. Happy in her home life, a divorced mother of two, Billie is the epitome of stability. They have nothing in common.
To his horror, Nick is fascinated - and irresistibly attracted. When Billie generously offers to share her home with Nick's crazy cousin Deedee for a while, Nick finds himself visiting - often. And while each is slowly seduced by the other's charms, and both are wildly encouraged by devious Deedee, Billie and Nick find out that what they have in common is most important of all. But neither one knows that danger is lurking where they least expect it, and a killer is closing in on them.

It's not Plum but it's a good story.
I normally don't write reviews but I felt a need after seeing the other reviews for this audio book. I didn't think it was all the bad as the other reviewers thought. It's a nice story to listen to when your in your car, however I'm getting tired of the music in the background at times seems out of place. Since this is an early Janet Evanovich prior to the Plum creation you can tell. It's not written in the character point of view like the Plum books and there are more characters to deal with so naturally will not be as developed and the story is a bit rushed. It's a pretty good setup for the Full Tilt characters and then the continuing series for Max Holt. This is not Stephine Plum but it is a good listen. If you like a little romance, comedy, and a slight bit of detective stories then I think you'll enjoy this Janet Evanovich offer.

I loved this book! I am a big fan of Janet Evanovich, and this book did not disappoint! When I listened to it, there was a lot going on in my life and I wanted to listen to something that would be light and fun and take my mind off of everything. It delivered! I will definitely listen to it again!

Not too bad but...
Janet Evanovich managed with her Stephanie Plum novels to do what every writer dreams of... create a character everyone loves and with each book gets funnier, sexier, and more intriguing. But somehow she lost it with the characters in Full House. While diffinately not a total waste of time (in my opinion) it was still not the hilarious laughs and constant tension that one would expect as a Plum fan. Full House did provide some really funny moments and Billy is likeabe (especially if you can identify with her simple "housewify" life) but as everyone seems to agree, not quite on par with what we fans have come to expect from Evanovich. Still it's a fun listen. A little too much inter-personal conflict than seems to fit the genre but some good laughs provide the comic relief. If you try this one just don't expect to see Stephanie Plum in any of the characters here.

Boooring!!!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Action, plot, humor, anything of interest. Basic chickbook romance with no redeeming qualities.
Would you ever listen to anything by Janet Evanovich again?
Yes, I have several that I enjoy. This just isn't up to her usual action/adventure/comedy standard.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I usually enjoy Lorelei Kings narration, but she couldn't make this interesting or amusing.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Full House?
Without a plot, what's the point? Cut the whole thing and don't look back.
Any additional comments?
Don't even try to compare this tripe to the Stephanie Plum books.

Sucker for a good adventure
If Nick senses danger, you should too. I believed that I would find another enjoyable heroine to live life vicariously through, unfortunately as the story progressed I couldn't find anything I would want to experience or realize through this unimaginative or simplistic character. I found myself unsympathetic, and unwilling to participate in the experience.
Don't become the sucker I became by buying not only Full House, but Full Blast, Full Speed, and Full Tilt thinking I was buying another series of books with characters that would grow & charm me; unfortunately that is not the case. You will be introduced to the insipid Ms Jamie Swift.

Full House
Ok this was interesting, I picked it because of our 2020 audiobook challenge and I have to say it was pretty interesting. Was it the best mystery no but for the time period it was published in it was pretty good.
I liked the characters and Max was all kinds of interesting I like how his brain works.
Nick and Billie once they found their grove and admitted to more than like that was when it really started to work for me.
Glad I listened, also this narrator is awesome she is a favorite of mine so that made it even easier to listen.

FULL HOUSE
I love all the Stephanie Plumb books and had high hopes for this series. The problem lies with the improbable rescue. It is just too hokie. The "rescue" ending was a real disappointment to what had been an entertaining book. I plan to try Full Tilt but if it too enters the unrealistic mode, I won't bother with any further books in this series.

Wait For It, Laughter
Note, I do use the 1.25x speed to match the author’s intent.
I purchased on the great $4.95 sale to introduce new series. What a bargain for laughter that many times creeps up on you when least expected. I had to put a hand over my mouth to stop the bark out loud laughter in public.
This is a simple story of new beginnings for a lot of characters, hence the title. When the kids were introduced, they spit out such laughable stuff I had to re listen to it as it was so funny!
Author’s introduction on book 2 explains to her fans, that this is not Stephanie Plum, and go with the laughter and romance.
I love this author’s Fox and O’Hare series narrated by the great Scott Brick. Nothing like having a GO Bag with a rocket launcher your dad supplied. Check it out if you are Stephanie Plum fan.
This is a new narrator for me, but I have a feeling she has an AKA narrator name as it seems very familiar. She has potential for me as I buy mostly based on a narrator voice. EG Angela Dawe, Karen White, Kathleen Early and January LaVoy are my current faves.
