Lucas Tappan, a wealthy and eccentric billionaire and founder of Icarus Space Systems, approaches the Santa Fe Archaeological Institute with a proposal for an excavation - and a hefty donation. Hoping to bring welcome publicity to the privatized space travel industry, he wants to finance a careful, scientific archaeological excavation of the 1947 Roswell Incident site. The Institute agrees and Nora Kelly, much to her annoyance, is tasked with the job. Instead of the evidence of a crashed UFO, Nora's excavation immediately uncovers two unknown murder victims buried at the site.

College professor Stephen Barlow needs cash. Badly. He puts his skepticism aside and signs on to a paranormal research organization in the hopes of scoring a fat bonus. Enter Chaythe Asylum: a long-shuttered and controversial institution where patients were allegedly subjected to unethical experiments. Stephen deems the old building, closed in 1989 after a series of grisly murders, as good a place as any to explore the possibility of the supernatural, and arranges to take a tour with his students. But it turns out that the asylum is not as abandoned as it seems. There is something sinister in the building.

Half a century ago, an aberration was spotted by one of our earliest satellites, and summarily dismissed as a hardware malfunction. But it was no aberration. And no malfunction. It was an accidental glimpse of something extraordinary, and very old. Mocked for decades, the man who designed the satellite is now dead. With the system's original data firmly in the hands of former NTSB investigator Joe Rickards and anthropologist Angela Reed.

So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. Publisher's Summary
The New York Times best-selling author of The Forgotten Room and Deep Storm is back with a new thriller that follows the trail of a killer who cannot exist...featuring Jeremy Logan, the renowned investigator of the supernatural and fantastic.
Legends, no matter how outlandish, are often grounded in reality. This has been the guiding principle behind the exhilarating career of Jeremy Logan, the "enigmologist" - an investigator who specializes in analyzing phenomena that have no obvious explanation - previously seen in The Forgotten Room, The Third Gate, and Deep Storm. Logan has often found himself in situations where keeping an open mind could mean the difference between life and death, and that has never been more true than now.
Logan travels to an isolated writers' retreat deep in the Adirondacks to finally work on his book when the remote community is rocked by the grisly discovery of a dead hiker on Desolation Mountain. The body has been severely mauled, but the unusual savagery of the bite and claw marks call into question the initial suspicions of a wild bear attack. When Logan is asked to help investigate, he discovers no shortage of suspects capable of such an attack - and no shortage of locals willing to point the finger and spread incredible rumors. One rumor, too impossible to believe, has even the forest ranger believing in werewolves. As Logan gets to know the remote deep-woods landscape, including a respected woman scientist still struggling with the violent loss of her father in these very woods, Logan realizes he's up against something he has never seen before.
His most action-packed and white-knuckled novel to date, Full Wolf Moon is the perfect combination of exotic locales, provocative science, and raw action that make for a deeply entertaining Lincoln Child blockbuster.

So disappointed
I have read all of Lincoln child's books both his alone and with D Preston. I have loved them all except this one, poor storytelling. It is almost as if he found an old copy of a first draft and went with it no editing or changes. The reader did a fine job with what he had to work with.

How bad was it....
It's true, what you've always heard....Don't judge a book by its cover. Because the cover on this one is great.
If I was Child's publicist, I'd have told him, "Back to the drawing board, Linky. You've got way more talent, more imagination, and enough money already banked to be mutilating your respectable reputation with this kind of twaddle." Child brings nothing new to the werewolf lore and seems to be grabbing onto anything floating by to save this one from flowing into the storm drain (sewer pipe). Desolation Mountain....Ooooooh! Black Water Lake......Eeeeeekkk! Crazy father-daughter mad scientist team........Aaaagggghhh! Isolated backwoods Hillbillies...... Eeeeewwwww! Over zealous Park Rangers and a few side-eyed locals round out an ersatz thriller that even Scooby Doo and the team would have felt was inadequate.

Disappointing 🙁
This book was very disappointing. The ware wolf theme was very uninteresting, like I've heard it all before. So far I've listened to The Third Gate and The Forgotten Room in this series. I totally loved The Third Gate, was a little disappointed with The Forgotten Room but it is still a whole lot better than Full Wolf Moon. I didn't feel that it was quite as well put together as the others. It kind of felt rushed and a lot shorter than the others.
