The scum hiding deep inside the Reach out along galaxy's edge thought they could kill her and not pay the price. For years these hardened killers have run roughshod over the lawless worlds where Republic justice is never as fast as the blaster in your hand and where double-crosses and death are a part of every deal. Story
They were the Savages. Raiders from our distant past. Elites who left Earth to create tailor-made utopias aboard the massive lighthuggers that crawled through the darkness between the stars. But the people they left behind on a dying planet didn't perish in the dystopian nightmare the Savages had themselves created: they thrived, discovering faster-than-light technology and using it to colonize the galaxy ahead of the Savages, forming fantastic new civilizations that surpassed the wildest dreams of Old Earth.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

Publisher's Summary
Galaxy's Edge, Part IV contains Turning Point through to the end of Message for the Dead.
Fight to win. Survive the future.
With the galaxy in turmoil, the Legion initiates Article Nineteen, a hard reset designed to halt the corruption and ineptitude that continues to spill forth from the Galactic Core. But when the House of Reason aligns itself with the bloodthirsty zhee extremists, the Legion has no choice but to commit to a savage campaign of Total War.
As Legion Commander Keller attempts to coax the Republic and Black Fleet into a winner-take-all battle at the heart of the Galactic Core, Wraith uncovers secrets from Tyrus Rechs’s past. Determined to liberate his crew from the clutches of a dormant fleet controlled by a hostile AI, the soldier-turned-rogue comes face to face with the galaxy’s greatest threat.
Meanwhile, Captain Chhun and Victory Squad follow intelligence that could land a powerful blow against Goth Sullus and his fledgling empire, and Exo and Wraith, in an tenuous alliance, move toward a slumbering fleet that could permanently alter the delicate balance of power among Legion, Republic, and Empire - or could just as easily eradicate the galaxy altogether.
Chhun and Kill Team Victory find themselves taking on new roles inside the Legion, and the fight for control of the Galactic Republic hits its zenith with the arrival of the malevolent Cybar.

Decent action destroyed by political rants
the story is decent, the political allegories and commentary not so much. The alien terrorists are a wild caricature of Islam, the whole book takes a break from fun action to rant about social justice, and instead of just not talking about it the author explicitly says several time that women don't belong in the military because it's a disaster. I really tried to like these, clearly because I ended up on book for, although they were on a steep sale that seemed worth it. if you feel like the solution to racial or species equality is a military coup to reverse all that dumb shit then you probably won't be as irritated as I get listening to the strange tangents about if the military just took over the government everything would be better. clearly this is set in a fantasy world where everyone conforms to the author's stereotypes, but the commentary is not disguised or ambiguous whatsoever, including the authors believe women shouldn't hold seemingly any positions of power in combat, support, or politics. there are none, like not one.
TL DR it's a standard military action book with strange inclusions of how equality, social justice, and civilian run governments destroy everything the incredible and morally perfect millitary tries to build.

Not to mention the way that Jason Anspach and Nick Cole wrote the story. EPIC!!!!! Wonderful Edition to the Series
Another stellar performance from Mr. Bray. And a great book for him to read. The saga of GE Season One continues and does not disappoint. The authors do their best to continue to provide surprises even when we you feel you know where it’s going.
The Epilogue of book 8 honestly felt more like “part 3” of that book. I guess that’s my only criticism is that, but it was necessary to tie the plot al together.

Another excellent chapter in this saga.
You just don’t know what is going to happen next. Plenty of characters, some bad some good some misunderstood.
The action is frenetic and in places disturbing however believable. Good guys get killed as well as the dubious bad.

not just as good as 3
really thought the series turned with part 3.
part 4 seems back to a lot of dates and events which can be tedious and boring at times
there are good action sequences that take place but some is hard to follow.
it is so similar to star wars and LOTR that you find yourself wandering off into those titles and have to rewind the story
hope part 5 is better, i do enjoy the story for the most part but it seems you really have to work at this series and put up with a bit to get any enjoyment out of it

Amazing
This universe is like Game of Thrones & Star Wars with a little bit of Starship Troopers thrown in.
Excellent story, awesome work by RC Bray in the telling.
Can't wait for more!!

An Epic Galactic Space Drama
Just when you thought it couldn’t get more intriguing, the next part is a must.
I love the carefully dropped movie titles and anecdotes that are right through the whole series.

Nah
The previous books were interesting and fun but this one was cumbersome and slow.
The battle scenes really dragged on, are unconvincing and were not really important for the story. Do you really think battles will include trench warfare in a time when interstellar travel is possible and AI battle systems etc. There was a whole part that was a Straight rip off of the black hawk down situation.
There are almost no characters (one of the best things in previous books) in this story just boring pointless battles.
Clearly the author wanted to write about war in Iraq or Afghanistan but for what ever reason couldn't or wouldn't do created a future colonized universe.
It is also clear this is a clumsy attempt to present a jingoistic world view of those wars and agenda of the authors. The view is that the the military (US imperialism) is inherently righteous, noble and pure. But women are inferior, incapable and unnoticed. Government is corrupt; military revolution is the only way to save the universe and establish justice. The zhee are clearly the worst possible stereotypical representation of Muslims; the representation appeals to and perpetuating a racist view.
All in all very disappointing given the previous books were fun sifi action adventures with great characters and an intriguing universe.

space opera to end all space operas
just finnished book 4. this is a story worth listening too. the character building and intricacy of the plot is all incompassing. so far i have listen to all 4 books without a break so invested in this story i have become. good thing i work for myself at home.

Love me some Tyranasquid
If you can get past the first book and the inconsistent timelines etc, the rest of the series is pure gold, creative and clever writing. fast paced action, characters you learn to love, with lots of queues from StarWars
