Publisher's Summary

Stephanie Plum returns to hunt down a new kind of criminal operating out of Trenton in the 28th book in the wildly popular series by number one New York Times best-selling author Janet Evanovich.

When Stephanie Plum is woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of footsteps in her apartment, she wishes she didn’t keep her gun in the cookie jar in her kitchen. And when she finds out the intruder is fellow apprehension agent Diesel, six feet of hard muscle and bad attitude who she hasn’t seen in more than two years, she still thinks the gun might come in handy.

Turns out Diesel and Stephanie are on the trail of the same fugitive: Oswald Wednesday, an international computer hacker as brilliant as he is ruthless. Stephanie may not be the most technologically savvy sleuth, but she more than makes up for that with her dogged determination, her understanding of human nature, and her willingness to do just about anything to bring a fugitive to justice. Unsure if Diesel is her partner or her competition in this case, she’ll need to watch her back every step of the way as she sets the stage to draw Wednesday out from behind his computer and into the real world.

Another hilarious book in the Stephanie Plum serie

It’s no secret that the Stephanie Plum series holds a special place in my heart. I can pick up any of the books and feel instantly happy. Game on was no exception. I loved this book. Diesel is in town and after the same man Stephanie is. They team up together to catch him. We haven’t seen Diesel in awhile so it was a lot of fun having him back. This book has all the same shenanigans you can expect from a Plum book; car explosions, bad guys, Lulu, donuts and romantic tension!

The only negative thing I can say about this book is that there wasn’t enough Ranger 😂

If you love this series then you’ll love this latest installment. If you haven’t started this series, DO IT!

The narration was perfect as always. Lorelei King is one of my favorite narrators and she makes the Stephanie Plum series so much fun to listen to.

Slow and disappointing.

I wanted to love this book. I really did, because I love the series! But quality seems to have progressively gotten worse over the last couple of books with this one being my least favorite. first of all Ranger was BARELY in the book at all And the parts where he was mentioned were unsubstantial. There wasn't even a whole lot of dynamic with morelli this time either. I am not a fan of Diesel and waiting all this time for the new book to come out only to find out that it primarily focuses around him, was a major disappointment. The story moved along very slowly. And if you've read all the books then you all know that many of the characters in this storyline have recycled names from previous characters. And what happened with Stephanie's big transformation in the last couple of books. Where she was finding herself and had this new look and new clothes and in this book it's like nothing ever happened She was the same old Stephanie. They made such a big deal out of it in the other books I thought it was leading to a new storyline for the series

So overall I really do love the series itself but the quality has just not been there as of late which makes me sad because I love Stephanie and the gang. .

Should be the end of the series

This was not one of the best. Same storyline redone. I think the Stephanie Plum series has gone as far as it can go. I'm glad the author has started a new character in a new series. Hopefully she finds her freshness again

It's okay.

While the writing was decent ( not sure it was really JE), the story was just meh, with not much humor and no suspense. Lorelei King was amazing as always. Maybe 28 novels with the same characters might be too much.

Dreadful. Dull. Not funny. No movement on story.

Clearly just to get something out there and published. seems like she lost interest in this series years ago.

E & K hit another one OUT. OF. THE. PARK!!!

I am THRILLED with there being FAR LESS PROFANITY and I LOVE the new ways of expressing themselves. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! That makes for a far better listening experience. I liked the storyline, love there was a viewing for Grandma Mazur and even Dad got in on the story this time ... Nice! All the fellas were well represented and though 2 more vehicles met their demise, Stephanie didn't do a lot of stupid stuff. maybe she is maturing a little! I really like these stories and am anxiously awaiting the next Stephanie Plum adventure. Thank you Ms E and Ms K? You are a FABULOUS narrator. No one else even comes CLOSE!! 👍🏽👍🏽 (and a snap if you remember "In Living Color")!!

Rehashed

As the book started I thought I had accidentally bought a previous Stephanie Plum novel. It is repetitive or remixed material from the older novels.

She's Back!

Another fun romp with Stephanie Plum. Although I am not so much a fan of the Diesel character, the book moves along fast and with lots of fun. Lorelei King is the ONLY narrator for these books. Thanks.

Enjoyable But Not Great

Book 28 is a good book in the series. I’m thinking the plot is beginning to be repetitive with not much new material added. Without Lula it would be a real bore but her comic relief is appreciated. The books are entertaining but like all long running series, it is hard to come up with new material. Still a fun read.

What an awesome book!!!

I love Janet Evanovich! Ever since book 1 “One For The Money”! I’m never sure where the story is leading, but I always know that I’m going to laugh at several points in the book.

Diesel has returned in this book, and he and Stephanie are after the same man. Oswald…. Who foils them at every turn!! I won’t spoil, but will say he does things that are pretty awful! Lula may never be the same!

If you are a fan of the Stephanie plum series, this one will be another you’ll live. The writing is stellar as usual and the events will keep you wondering…. And laughing. Lorelei King does an amazing job with these characters! Her voice and character definition are perfect for these books!!!
