Publisher's Summary

Some people say that life won’t give you more than you can handle...but those people are liars.

My life has never been easy. I’ve had my fair share of pain - every moment is a fight to survive. With my brother on his deathbed, it’s up to me to provide and protect what’s left of my broken family. I do things I never thought I’d be capable of, becoming a person so hardened to the world that when I look in the mirror, all I see is a stranger.

When a twist of fate lands me at rock bottom, I make the ultimate decision and give away the only thing I have left - my freedom. I belong to them now…the Beast. The Brains. The Bastard.

The Dixen’s have their secrets, but they aren’t the only ones hiding something. When the truth finally emerges, our worlds will collide in a potent mixture of sex, drugs, and bloodshed. Either we will fall under the weight of our deception or it will make us untouchable - bound irrevocably to each other. Sometimes you have to trust the gangsters. Sometimes it takes a gun to stay alive. And sometimes, it takes both.

Gangsters and Guns is a stand-alone romance novel with explicit scenes and some dark themes, including drug abuse.

Beyond freaking amazing

I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't stop listening to it and the Narrators did an amazing job. This is definitely gonna be one of those books that I'm going to listen to over and over again.

this will be a DNF for me

I will start off by saying the narrators for this book were great! However the story was not so great I made it to chapter 30 before I decided I just couldn't do it anymore. For 30 chapters it was all about her dripping or drenched 🐱 no sex. They have built up all this sexual tension for 30 chapters with no real story. I liked both of these authors individually but this book was not good for the 30 chapters I read. However like I said this was a DNF for me so maybe there is a point somewhere in the last 39 chapters??

Okay, but not den of vipers

It was fun and sexy but the story itself felt unfulfilling. Where Den I get really emotionally invested in and loose ends were tied up, I didn’t feel that with this one. If you want something easy to listen to with maybe too much sex sometimes (I’m all about sexy times in books btw duh) then this is your book.

Amazing dark romance

KA Knight like always is never disappointing! With the lovely Loxley Savage the book was addicting. If you love dark romance with mafia and Den of Vipers this book is for you

Great book!

I enjoyed it for the most part. A little redundant at times, and Rory sometimes acted dumb.... got example, she was clueless at times and as the reader you knew exactly what was coming and sat there trying to figure out how she didn't see it lol. but lots of spicy scenes and a good storyline. Overall, I'd still give this one five stars. A good listen.

Great book in the same world of DoV

How can you go wrong with a determined FMC and three hot as heck brothers? Ya can’t… At least these two didn’t. The book was a little slower burn than I was expecting, but then was like WOAH! And so damn hot!

Loses me in the storyline

I really enjoyed this book up to a certain point. The storyline made sense and grabbed and kept you interested. Then all of a sudden it's like they dropped the entire storyline and went to straight sex with multiple dudes and that's all that was even talked about. Not to mention 'rape-y' undertones regarding A LOT of it. I just couldn't listen anymore and returned the book.......

female lead is too stupid to be believed

The female lead is too incompetent for me to finish the first few chapters. its like they didn't know how to write a believe. its like they were confused about how to make her character. she keeps talking about how she's more than just a pretty face and then does so strait up stupid stuff. like who the heck works for a fence dore years, doing multiple jobs, but doesn't get suspicious when said fence asks you to steal a brand new jewelry set on the first day, with no additional resources for 10g's. Given the world that their saying she has to live in, seedy under belly, she is too stupid to believe. I dont believe her character would survive in that world at all ever. don't waste your credit on this one man.

Annoyingly terrible

Let me 1st say Den of Vipers worked because Roxy gave as good as she got; while she was damaged, she wasn't weak. She never took a punch that she didn't throw back.

She certainly didn't drown in a fog of depression from self-inflicted life choices like Rory does. Roxy didn't let people walk all over her. she didn't have to constantly say "how strong she was" because her actions showed her strength. The author successfully convinced readers that Roxy could handle the life (and men) she surrounded herself with.

That said, the main female character, Rory, in this book is the total opposite; she is whiney, spineless, and weak. While the authors attempted to convince you of her strength and survivorship, it was unsuccessfully done.

She spends the beginning of the book complaining about her life and lack of money. Yet, it doesn't hustle to find a job. So she steals to survive, but she is just as lazy as a criminal as she is a functioning member of society. When she finally does get a job, and a hint of her possible intelligence emerges, It doesn't take long before she is right back to the brainless and weak female that is pushed around by three men. Seriously, she is the type of female that strong women want to knock out for their stupidity.

While the Dixon men are similar to the Vipers, or at least I think that was the authors plan. However, that plan was unsuccessful. Unlike the Vipers, they really seem like lost boys who need a mommy. Again, they talk a good game, but its all bark with no bite.

Occasionally, dual authorship can enhance a story. Typically, it combines the writing strengths of both authors.

That said, in this case, the dual authors' voices seem to be battling each other for dominance in the story. Which ends creating a confusing mesh of non sensical character development.
All of them seem to be suffering from dual personalities.

In the end, the reader is just left feeling annoyed
by the hum drum of dumb people.

Basically, what it comes down to is an extremely unsuccessful attempt to remake Den of Vipers. If you are hoping for a repeat you will be very, very disappointed.

K.A. Knight voice and style are completely muted by that of Loxley Savage.

How disappointing....

The narration is fine. It's not great, but it's not terrible. Lackluster is the word coming to mind but definitely heard worse.

So good

I’ve had this since it was released and it got lost in all my other audiobooks I really do have too many . Anyway loved it Rory is strong and gives the Dixen brothers as good as she gets but she has a tough task ahead. She either sides with detective douchebag and snitches on her guys or she comes to her senses and tells the guys what she’s being forced to do.

AMAZING

This was an awesome audiobook! The narration was amazing with different perspectives spoken by two different narrators. The storyline was also amazing with its own little unique plot twists and amazing romance. I have read previous books by both K.A Knight and Loxley Savage and was pleasantly surprised with the mix of the two authors in their writing. Both authors are some of my favourites and I have written some other reviews for other books if you wish to have a background perspective on what I have read before and my opinion of those books. I always love reading RH romances as it is always unique in the relationships and dynamics of all the men who fall for one woman and have to figure out how to intertwine themselves in a way where everyone is happy and not feeling left out. It is always amazing reading how the different men and their personalities mix in with the woman and seem to all fit perfectly together. This is definitely a book I would recommend and I hope that when you do read it, you find that you love it just as much as I do. Enjoy!
