Publisher's Summary

Once, Orion and I were lovers. Then, the gorgeous demon king broke my heart. He kicked me out of the City of Thorns, exiling me to the mortal world.

Now, I have plans to get back at him--and save the world while I'm at it. Orion wants revenge on all the mortals. If I steal his crown, I can stop the bloodshed. All I have to do is beat him in a series of trials, proving that the gods chose me as queen.

But Orion seems determined to seduce me with his apologies and sensual charm. And the fact is? He's hard to resist. In the City of Thorns, nothing is ever as it seems, but figuring out who to trust is the most important trial of all. Because if I get it wrong, I'll have the blood of thousands on my hands.

A great ending to the series. Loved it!

When this series started I didn’t think I was going to like it, but I was so wrong. I definitely came to live it. At the beginning I didn’t think I like the characters, but I came to really love them.

This is a really good Paranormal Romance that I highly recommend.

The narrator did a really great job.

Not what I expected***SPOILERS**

I really enjoyed the first two books. I could not wait to get my hands on this one but I was very disappointed. First, I really didn't like the character growth of Rowan. In the other books she was coming into her power, growing up and going from a girl to a woman. In this one, she was portrayed as a love stuck girl who lost her senses when a man showed her affection or even just said something nice to her. She allowed Orion to change her mind and resolve constantly, yet kept complaining of how he trucked her and she wouldn't let him do that to her again. 🙄 A lot of the same dialog over and over again got a little tedious. The story of them finally coming together could have had a little more information. It seemed kind of r rushed. Over all, it was the least favorite of the books and I wouldn't have spent a credit on it

Wow. I have whip lash

Too many twists and turns to even be a fantasy novel. I did enjoy the first two books but the 3rd one was way way over the top, with all of the plot twist. Also the ending seas super forced. I would have like to have seen them go on to get married kids and live happily ever after but instead the author attempted to Segway into another series teacher the kids. Poor attempt at it too.

Great book until the last hour

The book was great until it was fluff.

I’m not sure if the author was trying to extend the book or why the last several chapters were added.

The book in general was good. You could see the character development. The first book was still the best.

It was ok

Just ok for me. I liked the 1st and 2nd books better. This one seemed rushed.

Had so much potential

Story: I was so excited to read this final book in the trilogy. The potential with the plot twists was there!! But fell short. It’s like major moments were realized and then swept aside and never mentioned again. The epilogue was way too long and really unnecessary—and extremely weird way to end it all. There were obvious gaps and mistakes in the story as well…sounded very much like a first draft that needs more editing.
Performance: I really do enjoy Amanda’s narration. I just wish she would take the written queues better. Like actually whispering or yelling when the character is said to be doing so.
Overall: I’m happy to have listened to it because I love a complete trilogy. However, I loved the first two books a lot more and was disappointed in this one. Worth it to tie up loose ends but that’s about it.

Sadly, Just... Bad!

The first book was Great with a capital G! It was also hilarious!
The second book's storyline is elucidated where the first book left off but ended too soon.
I believe this book should be re-written, but if anything, it should have been added to the second.
To me, the usually astute and highly talented author jotted this down speedily and turned in the first draft.
It was not a continuation. There was no humor, no character development, the feeling listening to it was underlined with the authors message which sounded a lot like “Here; you're happy it's over” feel. It felt like this book was just published out of obligation. 🙁

Enjoyable

Nice ending to an underwritten series. Glad I stuck with it, but only time will tell if I ever come back to it.
