Publisher's Summary

ADVENTURE TO THE TOWERS, SAVE THE PRINCESSES, GAIN NEW POWERS.

I was about to be promoted to Deputy Manager, when a strange voice—coming from a glowing gem I found in the stationery drawer—told me I was meant for more.

I was thinking the same thing.

Before my boss' eyes, I was transported to a fantasy world of mana and monsters. When I felled the foul beasts, the gem embedded in my hand absorbed their essence—a light that made me more adept with weapons, and able to wield increasingly better ones. It even grew my body.

It turned me into the man I was supposed to be.

With a sword on my hip and an adorable apothecarist at my side, I’ll trek to the mysterious towers built by the evil witch king. We don’t know why he built them, but we think they’re the source of his power.

Power better suited in my hands.

Along the way, I’ll need to defeat his demented Black Gem Knights, and pick up the pieces of the kingdom he broke.

I'll meet a stern-faced tribal archer, with a heavy weight upon her tattoo-covered shoulders. I’ll also meet a beautiful fluffy-eared maiden, who loves a good scratch behind them.

Excellent story! Lots of action.

Great story line! I was never bored with this book. There was discovery, plot advancement, great fight scenes, a couple of small dungeons and a smattering of sexy times. His girls are there for a reason and have personalities of their own. Daniel Wisniewski gave his usually exemplary performance and Veronica Adler (whom I've never listened to) showed she has talent to spare. The MC is bold but not the super intelligent, super lucky I always have a plan type. He has to stumble along, making mistakes and gaining a foothold in a new world with new rules. He also gets his but kicked but his tenacity wins the day.

Overall, this was an excellent start to a new series and I eagerly await book 2.

I can't believe one person gave this a good review

I saw the cover, I knew this wouldn't be for everyone, but this book was awful even for a harem story. There's almost no story. Hank is transported to a new world where he doesn't do anything except a bit of thrusting. If the author had just mashed some attempt at a story around Hank I wouldn't give a bad review.

Hey Kirk.... another 5 stars

Honestly another great rounded piece of work.
Other than I wanted a little more stripes, but that wouldn't fit storyline too much. Anywho. Everybody involved in this book did a wonderful job start to finish. Im for sure on the hook for book 2. Oooor Bestiary 4.. hint hint. Yeah I dont want to praise too much on here Kirk has to get to work. Can't take too much of your time reading these reviews.

Typical Tale of the Genre

The author at times seems to be going for a Army of Darkness type of vibe. Otherwise the story is rather typical and middle of the road for its genre. Some will find the female leads overly weak, but the author does seem to be moving them in a direction of being stronger, but I’d have to read the next book to really say. Overall it was a very neutral read that never really pulled me in.

Great start to a series.

A God transfers our MC to her world to be the warrior savior. A White Gem Knight, there to eradicate the Black Gem Knights and those above them..
Our MC takes out the bad guys quickly and builds up his harem slowly. Thank you Kirk Mason for not making the MC a whiny bitch or an overbearing a**hole.
This is a solid LitRPG harem story. Good writing and fine narrating.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Interesting!

This one is a pretty traditional rescue-the-princess-stuck-in-the-tower scenario. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t still fun.

The narrators do a great job and the adventure is both fun and tragic in a lot of ways as they discover more of what has been going on with the Witch King.

Looking forward to the next.

A Beginning

A unique version of a common story. The flow of the story was well done. The characters, in my opinion, are strong and true. But what brings the story to life is the narrators. They do a fantastic job of establishing individual characters. It amazes me how with a change of the accent can bring the characters to life. The story was was written in a common form. Not a really strict manner nor full of comedy. It was done as if you would be living it.
The only let down is I have to wait for the next book.
Well worth the read! 5*****

Kirk's Best Work Yet!

This was probably my favorite out of the novels Kirk Mason has released so far.

Didn't really connect with Rouge Calamity by really enjoyed Bestiary series but so far this series looks set to favorite of his work so far!

The world building is great and it setups a lot of ideas and characters for future installment and provides a goal which you want to the characters succeed as they progress through their mission whilst being pursued by the Witch King & the Twins. The characters relationship feel very natural and isn't forced by the situation or categorised into certain tropes.

Daniel Wisniewski is awesome as always, I first heard him narrate Isekai Assassin by Grayson Sinclair and when he is involved in a series it is always on my radar. As for Veronica Adler this was the first time I heard a novel with her involved and he was brilliant, afterwards I looked at how many audiobooks she has previously done and was surprised by how few it was since she did such a wonderful job. Hope to hear more from her in the future.

I'm torn between contining the series on Kindle Unlimited or waiting for the next audiobook as the Narration due really were superb.
