Very good

Well written and easy to follow. The reviews and quizzes help to cement the learning process. I'm pleased with it, though working slowly.

Good buy

This language set is easy to use and includes audio and books, and an online portion. Having all these ways to learn makes it much easier to retain the knowledge.

It's been excellent so far

Good, If you don't even know how to say hello in German, it starts with that lesson, it teaches pretty well and it has a very useful teaching method.

Five Stars

Learning languages guides you on how to speak another language in the connection of the conversation. Sooner than in bits and pieces without sentence structure to aid incomprehension.

No PDF!! How can you learn with no material

If you don't know the language it is difficult to follow!. There was no PDF with the book which the author says comes with it. Without a PDF on Warrington vocabulary that he is speaking I'm translating it is difficult to follow along.

Totally NOT Helpful, BADLY organized

In chapter 2, the narator reads an entire letter to "Dear Maria", and goes on and on in German, without translating after each sentence. So this is supposed to be for Beginners, and you have to listen to an ebtire letter without ubderstanding anything, all gibberish. Then he translated the entire letter , which was NOT helpful. It shouldbe translated after each sentence, so it stays with you, and you learn. And this is Chapter 2, so the beginning of the beginning, for beginners, when you don't understand much. In chapter 3, he goes over pronunciation of certain letters, and keps reciting words in Ferman only, without translatibg after each word, what it actually means, not even translating those words lster at all, so you just hear a bunch of German words, and have no idea what they mean, so you learn nothing. Very poorly thought and completely not helping. I spesk 5 languages fluently, and took many courses in my life. This is the worst and the most unhelpful of them all. I am going to complain and ask my money back.

Poorly structured

Heavy on grammar and it’s very unstructured. Random sentences with no real explanation as to what’s happening and why.
Given this is an educational script, the German narration is rather fast for the untrained ear and the English translation is at a slower pace, to my ear at least.
I already speak treasonable German and wanted a refresher and I struggled with these lessons, particularly the grammar.
The Audible sample is also very poor, covering only the introductory sales pitch of the 1st chapter of the book.

Good in some ways ann

Conseidering the lenght of this book in comparison to tohers which can be about even only a few hours long this is definitely good value for money. The short stories are good and interesting enough. However This is definitely not a book for beginners. It is at times (necessarily?) dry in detailing the language. Also would only recommend this audiobook for native English speakers who want to learn german as a lot of the translations are wrong grammatically and/or just sound plain weird eg. "Mario is in love with Anna. He's going to a date with her today." Such mistakes just are a bit jarring. But the German is correct and so that is what counts. A native English speaker will be able to understand what they meant to say.

not for beginners, far too advanced from the start

not an ideal book for beginners, far too advanced from the start, would suit those who already have a grasp of German

not the most optimal for audiobook

I'm not satisfied at all with this book. it has a lot of grammar in it, which is hard to understand without seeing it in front of your eyes. The phrases from the book connected to grammar explanation, not connected between each other. And you will not be able to use them as a beginner.

Very detailed and probably too much for a beginner

I scored this lowly only to flag up that it seems to me to be at a much higher level than beginner. I was disappointing that it was too advanced for me as I was expecting a much lower level.

I will maybe return to it when I am at say A level stage.

If you are advanced beginner or intermediate it will probably be fine.

Maybe audible will credit me 1 credit so I can look again?
