How To Be An Asshole In Every Situation

The best thing about this book is that it is 100% practical advice in psychological manipulation like it states. That’s were my positives end. I picked up this book to help spot psychological manipulation in the work place and to not be manipulated by it. This book doesn’t teach you to spot manipulation or how to stay away from it but how to apply it to others. The advice lacks genuineness and admittedly if you followed this book to a T it would make you come across as an asshole. I understand these are tools only to use occasionally but the book gave me a bad vibe.

Also the audio quality varies from chapter to chapter. Some chapters it feels like the narrator was out sick and somebody else narrated it. Even if you are serious about learning psychological manipulation you would want this as a reference book kind of like a bible you keep on hand so you can flip to some advice quickly in a situation, the audio format is less helpful.

I recommend a physical copy more than an audiobook but only if you want to be a selfish asshole that does whatever they want.

Mostly a Waste of Time

80% of this book is common sense that anyone over the age of 14 should realize.
The promotional blurb claims not to employ manipulation but every technique offered is exactly that disguised as a deep psychological truth.

It might function as an occasional reference source if you find yourself in a particularly challenging situation, but I think this book will find its biggest enthusiasts among adolescents and teenagers.

If you’re over thirty and still don’t know this stuff, don’t choose a career working with people.

Nice cover design though, I’ll give it that.

Try another

A very traditional approach to relationships which was vague in many instances. Some of the information is pretty obvious and other info is easily disproven.

pretty ok

I found this book really aligned with my natural approach, so it didn't add a lot of value to my life.

But, I did benefit from it, in that I see why I've been effective and thinking about everything in context, I see a path to improving.

it was a challenge to finish, for me, but worth the effort.

Very well written and engaging. All 40 lessons well researched. Narrating done very well.
