Publisher's Summary

Life can be cruel. Sometimes it's hard to play with the cards you've been dealt. Growing up in the ghetto can be hell; good or bad, everybody has a story. Toni is young and sexy, but her life story is limited with her mother's drug addiction and her older brother, Sheek, doing life in prison. She struggles day by day, stripping and sometimes doing more in underground clubs to support herself and her family.

Toni eventually befriends a rich pretty boy from Long Island, whose life was sheltered from poverty since the day he was born. But when he meets Toni, their lives change as they teach each other how to live and grow, and school each other about the opposite worlds they live in and come from. But conflict erupts in the ghetto. Toni's abusive gangster boyfriend, Tec, fuels a deadly drug war with Chills, a well-known kingpin harboring most of Coney Island territory. Greed, rage, and envy is instilled in Tec, and the body count rises. A drug war ensues as animosity and rage erect between the two thugs, making life in Coney Island a living hell for some and Ghetto Heaven for others.

Enjoyed it 😊

I enjoyed the storyline of the book itself but the reader didn't give me the emotion that I normally get from listening to books on audible but I still liked it nevertheless.

The narrator tore my nerves up!!!!

The storyline was good but it was hard to get into because I was so busy correcting the narrator in my head. It was bad. Again the storyline was good but I couldn’t get into it because the narration was terrible

Almost

I listened to the entire book ! It was a little much …the ladies had no deselect for themselves! I understand doing what you have to do but damn !!! Hoeing, dancing , rapes, gang rapes, men with no respect for women. Also Matthew being rich and a virgin didn’t set right in my spirit !!

I did like the bougie mama and daddy tho ! I liked the brother in jail!

I couldn’t understand why these rich men were so naive … weak … but I didn’t listen to the whole thing !

Sad

All of the violence and Crab in a barrel mentality in this book was so sick. Why would either of these Women bring those Types of Men back to that Place where they Lived?? They knew what would and could happen..and as For Tech?? Is there a part 2?? Wtf happened to Him?? I wanna Knowww.👀😳🤦🏾‍♀️💆🏾‍♀️

Ikyfl

This story made no sense. The characters were pointless and the narrator was horrible. I just kept listening waiting for someone to say “ just kidding”.
