Publisher's Summary

A unique group of Highlanders arose from their graves the day after the Battle of Culloden Moor. Nearly 300 years later, a young lass hopes to rewrite history.

Soncerae is a Muir witch, whose destiny is to save these Highland warriors who refuse to leave Culloden's hallowed, forever-bloody ground. She can win back their lives, but only for a time. And in that time, she hopes to prove that a heart's true desire can mean so much more than revenge.

"These rough, braw men of mine... 'Tis more than just pride and injustice that keeps them tethered to the moor. But pride is what I'll use to get them to go on. Ye see, I've known for a long while I'll know no peace until they've found theirs." (Soncerae Muir)

This anthology contains the first four installments in The Ghosts of Culloden Moor series, including The Gathering, Lachlan, Jamie, and Payton. Ultimately, there will be dozens of stories told.

Well-written stories from a very good author

The Gathering (The Ghosts of Culloden Moor #1), my first read from author L.L. Muir. My wife is a Scottish romance reader & sometimes the books she reads influence me. I don't restrict myself to a particular genre. I'm a sucker for anything with memorable characters and a story that keeps me guessing. The perfect novel? A book that keeps me turning the page long after I should have called it a night. This was a well-written short read, only 50 minutes in length. I'll read more from this author, in this series, but what really got me going was narrator Andrew McDermott, I love his Irish brogue. This is my fourteenth listen from him.

Lachlan (The Ghosts of Culloden Moor #2), my second read from author L.L. Muir. A well-written short read, 3-hours 57 minutes in length.

Jamie (The Ghosts of Culloden Moor #3), my third read from author L.L. Muir. A well-written short read, 108-pages/2-hours 44 minutes in length. Even better than the first 2 books of the series,

Payton (The Ghosts of Culloden Moor #4), my fourth read from author L.L. Muir. Another well-written short read, 124-pages/3-hours in length. The best book of the series to date.“I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. Addictive Highlander Romance

Heartwarming clean modern romance. The restless and embittered ghosts from Culloden Moor are individually offered a chance to confront the Bonnie Prince, who betrayed their trust, and have their voices heard. The price? Perform an heroic deed. Released into this modern world they find love and resolution, each in their own way. So much fun. Great stand alone stories. Interesting twists.

The narration by Andrew McDermott is as enthralling as ever. His accent is genuine, his interpretation impeccable. This collection of the first books with an introductory novella is a perfect escape into a world where magic happens and there is a HEA. I love these feel good stories and look forward to more from Andrew McDermott.

Review Only for Payton

(I’ve already reviewed The Gathering, Lachlan and Jamie in their respective audiobooks.)

I really enjoyed listening to Payton. The hero of the story lands outside of a country club in Dalworthington Gardens, Texas. I quickly perked up because Dalworthington Gardens is an actual little town in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and I used to live very close to it. I felt like the author must be from this area, too, because she used actual names of several locations in the area. She also used the last name of a very prominent family from the area. I was riveted to the story the whole time.

L.L. Muir was wise to select Andrew McDermott for this series. He brings life to the characters, which in turn brings the story to life. Please consider giving this one a go. It’s well worth a credit!

Pleasant surprise

I enjoyed this story more than expected. I’ve seen the series advertised but was apprehensive about buying it. I am so glad I gave it a chance. Looking forward to the next stories.

Fun collections

I enjoyed the stories and hope they can be developed into longer single stand alone novels. One thing I didn’t care for as I was driving I missed the ending of a book and had to replay only to find out they ended too sharply which I didn’t understand after replaying. Overall I enjoyed it.

Wonderful Stpries!

These are great stories told by a wonderful narrator! These stories just flow off the pages and into your head. They are well told, greatly narrated and just flow magically. I can't recommend them enough if you like magical, slightly haunting stories that flow through time! Highly recommended!

Fascinating paranormal series!

I've always held the Battle of Culloden Moor deeply embedded in my heart for the extreme loss of life and betrayal that met the men who bravely fought to save their people from the English. Even though these stories are a fantasy, they help ease the pain of the tremendous loss to those of us who have Scottish blood running through our veins. Thank you, Ms. Muir, for caring to ease that pain, even if just for a wee bit.
I love the dual narration of Andrew McDermott and Jenn McGuirk! Well done!
