Story
Lane is a typical teenager - loving family, good grades, after-school job at the local animal hospital, martial arts enthusiast - but her secret obsession is studying serial killers. She understands them, knows what makes them tick. Why? Because she might be one herself. Lane channels her dark impulses by hunting criminals - delivering justice when the law fails. The vigilantism stops shy of murder. But with each visceral rush the line of self-control blurs. And then a young preschool teacher goes missing - only to return in parts.

Story
Everyone in the quiet Jersey Shore town of Silver Bay knows the story: on a Sunday evening in September 1991, Ramsey Miller threw a blowout block party, then murdered his beautiful wife and three-year-old daughter. But everyone is wrong. The daughter got away. Now she is nearly eighteen and tired of living in secrecy. Under the name Melanie Denison, she has spent the last fifteen years in small-town West Virginia as part of the Witness Protection Program. She has never been allowed to travel, go to a school dance, or even have internet at home. Precautions must be taken at every turn, because Ramsey Miller was never caught and might still be looking for his daughter.

Eerie YA horror terror
Purchased in audible sale with
“The girl who was supposed to die” which Was much more palatable. Just a horrible feeling to imagine the protagonist in this book and what she went through Both before and after the book begins.
You will learn some about Blindness, pneumonia, parental death, and burns.
Chop shops.
No sex or swearing which is refreshing and what makes this a YA novel.
Still, serious issues for a sixteen year old girl.

Girl Stolen by April Henry
I have an eye disability, so it’s always been hard for me to read. I had to listened to another book by April Henry called Girl I used to be and this one was ok but not the best I think. I liked the book but didn’t love he narroting done, but it got the job done for my book project, so overall not bad!

Decent abduction story for YAs
Would you consider the audio edition of Girl, Stolen to be better than the print version?
No. I didn't like the voice performer's narration of the story, so I would recommend reading the book instead. She does a credible job voicing Cheyenne, but there are multiple male characters and she was terrible at their characters. I wish the author had gone with dual narration instead.
