Publisher's Summary

The New York Times best-selling Arc of the Scythe series continues with thrilling stories that span the timeline. Storylines continue. Origin stories are revealed. And new Scythes emerge!

There are still countless tales of the Scythedom to tell. Centuries passed between the Thunderhead cradling humanity and Scythe Goddard trying to turn it upside down. For years humans lived in a world without hunger, disease, or death with Scythes as the living instruments of population control.

Neal Shusterman—along with collaborators David Yoon, Jarrod Shusterman, Sofía Lapuente, Michael H. Payne, Michelle Knowlden, and Joelle Shusterman—returns to the world throughout the timeline of the Arc of a Scythe series. Discover secrets and histories of characters you’ve followed for three volumes and meet new heroes, new foes, and some figures in between.

Gleanings shows just how expansive, terrifying, and thrilling the world that began with the Printz Honor-winning Scythe truly is.

Gave me the chills!

The new stories of new people all were so entertaining and engaging that it left me wishing for more of them! But those stories of the characters we do already know…each left me itching and dreading the endings of each because I didn’t want to say goodbye again though the anticipation won out and here I am restarting the book less than 24 hours after starting it the first time

Things I longed for/didn't know I needed

This book was FANTASTIC! The ending I wanted, but never expected I'd get. Plus, there were a lot of things added here that helped build the world that I didn't know I needed to hear about. Make sure to read the other books before this one!

Good, but different...

Great book, fits all "criteria" for a scythe novel, however not a continuation of Rowans and Citras story, interesting to see/hear the voices of many authors, also the telling of different perspectives of what its like to be in the world of Scythe.

Sad narrator decisions

LOVE this series. HATE when authors decide to switch up the narrators at the end of a series. Book was amazing but severely disappointed in this decision. Greg Tremblay will always be the voice of the thunderhead.

Not the End I was Hoping For

I wish that they continued on with the story instead of fragmented parts of the schythdom. It was a good book just not what I expected for the final book.

Phoned in the scraps

If a bag full of end slices of different loaves bread were a book, it would be this one. A mishmash of leftovers from different timelines and the readers were of very varied skill too. It had entertaining moments but mostly it seemed like a sellout.

Fabulous!

This was such a great addition to The Arch of the Scythe series! There were so many great stories in this book that helped add more depth and detail to this dystopian world.

Like tasting wedding cakes

This collection of short stories set within the scythe universe was overall very fun and scratched that scythe itch. But unfortunately, that itch quickly comes back. The stories within are wide ranging in both setting, narrator quality, and story quality, it gives a fun and interesting take on most of the most anticipated and interesting parts of the scythe universe. But in that, it leaves me wanting for more. It’s like tasting wedding cakes, they are all delicious, but they are all just small portions of a more satisfying whole.

Not at all what I expected but very good anyway

It´s a bunch of short stories and not ending the series as I expected. That said, all stories are really good and interesting, well written and performed. So, thats something I did not expect at all. I actually highly recommend it, you get to hear Neal narrate, thats interesting... not many (I don't know any right now) writers do that well, so... just because of that you should drop a credit.
