Publisher's Summary

From USA Today best-selling author Rina Kent comes a new stand-alone dark romance about a villain and his new obsession.

I caught the attention of a monster.

I didn’t ask for it. Didn’t even see it coming.

But the moment I do, it’s too late.

Killian Carson is a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm.

He’s cold-blooded, manipulative, and savage.

The worst part is that no one sees his devil side.

I do.

And that will cost me everything.

I run, but the thing about monsters?

They always chase.

This book is a dark unconventional romance and contains themes that aren't to everyone's liking. Please check the author's note in the ebook for content warnings before listening.

Yes, trigger warning may be needed

This book is obviously not for young teens or anyone triggered by sexual assault, blackmail, etc. However with that being said, it’s important to read the actual book description. Given that this is Rina Kent I expected it to be dark. I quite enjoyed it. Killian is literally the ‘I don’t care about anyone but you’ guy trope. Yes, he has a disability (ASPD) which is romanticized and in reality he would not make a good lover. It’s just a fictional a story that calls to my darker side, it was hot.
I hope Rina Kent continues to make stories where the character has ASPD or another personality disorder. It’s interesting reading about characters who aren’t neurotypical.
Didn’t love the narrators choices for the main characters though, but it was bearable. For 19 year olds Sebastian York sounds too old and Josie is bad at male voices. For the female definitely should have chosen Addison Barnes!

TEEN - DEFINITELY NOT FOR ME

I’d preordered this because of the book’s tempting dark blurb and the cast of male narrators.. however, on a preorder, you don’t get a chance to listen to the narration. The female narrator here (IMO) can’t do a realistic male voice.. but I persevered.. unfortunately though, I didn’t make it too far into the story because of the content and the YA theme. To cast Sebastian York’s rich, very adult voice off as a troubled nineteen year old psycho School teen is laughable (the heroine is also nineteen) and I didn’t even get to Aaron or Wen’s characters who, presumably will also be nineteen. I love a good dark romance as well as the twisted, dark, alpha, anti heroes that go along with them.. but this didn’t pull me in at all and I stopped listening by chapter 9.

Worth a credit? This is the next generation from Rina Kent’s Royal Elite series and, for fans who followed those High School/bully romances, then I’m sure you’re gonna absolutely love these. But for me, the female narrator’s voice grated and the teen type of story isn’t my chosen genre.. so sadly, I’ll be returning this book.

Fantabulous Audiobook!!

God of Malice by Rina Kent

I Give this Book a 5/5 Star Rating!!
What a Freaking Fantabulous Read!!
This is a MEGA Reread BUT MOST DEFINITELY a Relisten! 😍😍😍

**Audiobook Review at Bottom

HEA(?): Heck Yeah!
This book is by far the best in this entire Book Universe, I saw that nearly every time with the previous reads but this was soo freaking good, I actually stopped reading the book in order to buy the audiobook cause I NEEDED to hear everyone’s voices as I read, the Audiobook was just perfection (to me)!
I’m absolutely curious as to who will be paired up with who in future books, I’m really really anticipating all their books.
The writing style for this books just felt so fresh and flowed so well, I was completely enraptured.
Relationship Type: MF
Romance: 3.5/5
Heat: 4.5/5
Dark(?): May be darker for others, 3/5.
Pacing: Mid, really well paced but as usual I never want characters in this universe books to end 😆 I wish it just kept going 😂
Drama: 3.5-4/5
Suspense: 4-4.5/5

Audiobook Review:
Overall: 5/5!!!!
Story: 5/5
Performance: 5/5
Narrators: Sebastian York, Josie Minor, Aaron Shedlock, Wen Ross & Kylie Stewart

I just need to say this..The Audiobook is Perfection!!
Not only do you get Glyn’s & Killian’s own Narrators, who were soooo freaking good by the way! But you get to hear the individual narrators for past characters (aka Parents & Grandparents), it was such a welcoming surprise and a joy to listen, I cracked up so many times 😂
I can wait to hear the next book for whoever it is and be able to hear the Parents POV’s in that as well!!😍😍😍

Typical Bully romance

3.5 Stars.

Killian finds Glyndon a mess after she just lost her best friend. He forces her into a position. She never gets what just happened and moves on. Glyndon is an artist and she wants to finds out what happened to her friends so she tries to get into Killian's secret club but gets eliminated. She also starts to gain feelings just like he starts to even though he hates everyone. What happens when the person you hate is the one you can't forget? What happens when the person who's the biggest A-Hole takes your virginity? What happens when you change the one psychopath?

This book was boring and very slow. I was expecting a bit more and intense for how big of a psychopath Killian was described. I was hoping for a lot more. The spice was great. Maybe would have been more exciting if I where to have read it instead of on audio.

Well that was something different.

I quite enjoy Rina's book and I don't have a ton of strong opinions about second-generation books, but here we are diving right in.

I haven't quite read a book with MMC like Killian with nearly every quality that'll have you thinking, why should we like this guy? Definitely won't go down as the swoon-worthy book boyfriend for many, but I quite enjoyed reading about Killian. The dynamics of this character were full of red flags, but here I am finding some likable qualities ;-)

I'd say the enemies to lovers trope goes deep between Glyndon and Killian, but even that might be an understatement because Glyn could shout from every rooftop about how much she hated Killian. But he was so unbothered by it and kept on with his day.

Their back and forth is a huge part of their story and I was enjoying every second of it!

As you get closer to the end, walls are coming down a bit, and start seeing the slightest glimpse of softness that Killian has towards Glyn. Definitely not your traditional sweet stuff, but in his way, that's how he shows how much he cares for her.

One thing I was hoping we'd get more is the relationship between Killian and his father, Asher. I wasn't looking forward to the chapter of his POV, but that scene was everything. And just the realization of what his son thought of him for a huge part of his life. Not going to lie, it made me cry a little cause despite Kill's hardshell, this was absolutely a vulnerable spot for him.

SO yeah, definitely enjoyed this rather dark and twisty standalone in Rina's new series.

Narration: When I saw all the narrators, I thought this was a full cast, but we get a few chapters from other POVs, just the one though. I'm a fan of Sebastian York, but their voice didn't seem age appropriate for God of Malice. It was off when we'd go from Josie Minor as Glyndon and then into Killian's chapters, didn't sound like a 19-year-old. I enjoyed Josie's narrations but wasn't a fan of the voiceovers for their dialogue with Killian. I enjoyed the brief cameos of Aaron, Wen, and Kylie, their voices were great for their one chapter, and will definitely be on the lookout for more by them.

Note: like most of Rina's dark romances, definitely check out the content warnings for this one.

Interesting Start to Series

Rina Kent is a new to me author I recently started reading. I fell in love with her Empire series and was so excited to read her newest book, God of Malice. This book had promise but didn’t quite catch my attention. It was hard falling for Killian and Glyndon. They had intense chemistry and even though, Killian was a psychopath he had some sweet moments that made him likable. However, the side characters stole the show for me. They were so intriguing and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Even though, this was not the book for me, the all star narration was wonderful! Josie Minor and Sebastian York as Glyndon and Killian were great. Josie Minor is a new to me narrator who did a wonderful job capturing Glyndon’s insecurities, fears and twisted desires. Sebastian York is always incredible narrator and I love listening to him. This might not have been my favorite story but I would still recommend it if you like dark college bully romance with a psychopath, possessive hero, a virgin heroine, and some non/dubious consent scenes.

4.5 Utterly Addictive Stars! ❤

Ever since God of Malice was announced i could not contain my excitement for it! Having read Ms.Kent's work many times before i always can't wait to see what she comes up with next! With every teaser, i was even more excited and started counting down the days! As soon as i found out about this audiobook i knew i absolutely had to listen to it! I loved this listen!

First off, can i just say just how much i adored the fact that God of Malice had multiple narrators? It brought alive the story in such a one of a kind way and i couldn't get enough it! Sebastian York, Josie Minor, Aaron Shedlock, Wen Ross, and Kylie Stewart were all so wonderful with their narration! I've listened to Sebastian, Aaron, and Wen before, but this was my first time listening to Josie and Kylie which was so fun for me! I thoroughly enjoyed what each narrator brought to the story and this cast of characters. I was pulled in by the narration for both Glyndon and Killian, which had me very much glued to my earbuds!

Killian and Glyndon's journey had me hooked from beginning to end! Right from the heart stopping moment these two are brought into each other's lives, i was on the edge of my seat. I couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for them!

From the chemistry 🔥 to the darkness, Our anti-hero and our heroine had me feeling every single thing under the sun! I swear, the roller coaster ride of emotions i went through while listening had me falling for this story even more! I was so glad that i got to dig into both of their minds. I honestly didn't know what all to expect and the unpredictable of it all got me into it even more so.

It was awesome getting into the Legacy of Gods world! I so enjoyed what all of the other characters brought to the story! Has me so excited for what's to come! I also loved the way i could picture everything so vividly in my mind. It brought even more depth to the characters and this audiobook for me.

With God of Malice, Ms.Kent brings her signature unique darkness in way that is so utterly addictive! She never fails to make me feel so dang much! From the story to the narration, This is one unforgettable listen! I cannot wait to dive back into the Legacy of Gods world with the second installment, God of Pain! ❤

Be sure to check the trigger warning for this listen as this is dark.

Pearl clutcher

Sebastian York voice is so hot. His voice is phenomenal and I continued listening to the book because of him. Some narrators can make or break a book. The other narrators were great too but Sebastian York is amazing.

I haven’t listened to a dark bully romance book before so my mind was in complete and utter shock.
While I didn’t care for the way Killian spoke sometimes, that psychopath wormed his way to my heart. Killian hates everyone except for Glynn. This book really drew me in when there was a sort of invite to a party and what happened during the party. After that I was hooked.

The God of Malice is a dark romance. This book has very dark vocabulary and I would only recommend it to mature readers. Be sure to check out the trigger warnings.

Blown away!!

Omg!! I was blown away by the book but this audiobook knocked me off my feet. The performance by each narrator was wow. This is a great start to the legacy of Rina Kent’s characters. Killian and Glyndon were so easy to fall for. Killian is so depraved and I freaking loved every minute. This book took me on one wild ride!

Captivating and Excellent Audio Production!

This is the first book in the Legacy series, a next generation series, interconnected with the Lies and Truths duet, the Royal Elite series/ Cruel King, and the Kingdom duet. It was so great to see again those characters years later! I like next generation series, and the first book in the Legacy series is a masterpiece. This book can be read on its own. For better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous series. Glyndon and Killian’s story is dark, intense, and hot. They are opposites attract. Glyndon is beautiful, and fragile. She is Astrid and Levi's daughter from the Cruel King /Royal Elite series. Killian is enigmatic, dark, arrogant, ruthless, devious, and obsessive. He obviously has a personality disorder, and he definitely is a very interesting character. He is Asher and Reina’s son from Lies and Truths duet. The storyline is complex, emotional, and grippingly enthralling, filled with family drama, and unpredictable twists and turns. Their story is intense and very dark. Seeing Jonathan King (from the Kingdom duet)as Glyndon's Grandpa was marvelous! I liked the family bonds in this story. Glyndon and Killian’s brothers are interesting side characters, and I would love to know more about them. The cast of narrators is impressive. Sebastian York is phenomenal as Killian. He did an excellent job portraying this complex character. Josie Minor is a new narrator to me. She has a beautiful voice, very pleasant to listen to. She is perfect as Glyndon, impersonating her fragility, and her kindness. Aaron Shedlock, Wen Ross and Kylie Stewart are excellent impersonating the family members. This is an excellent audio production. If you like dark romance, and liked the previous series, you will love this next generation series. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it! Now, I need to revisit the original series, and I need more of the Legacy series! Looking forward to listening to God of Pain. #ValentinePR

Brilliant

Loved listening to this book. I always listen as I read the book, as it brings the entire story to life!!
It was nice to hear the prior narrator's for the other books reading their parts again!! It's the one thing I really love about all the different narrators for Rina's books!!

Cruel King narrators
Levi = Aaron Shedlock
Astrid = Kylie Stewart

All The Lies
Asher = Wen Ross

Back to read their parts within this book and done yet again, with expert skill and ease to help bring more enjoyment while reading and listening to this. However, the two main narrator's in this book reading the characters of

Killian = Sebastian York
Glyndon = Josie Minor

They really enriched the experience.

It's not the first audio I've had with Sebastian as a narrator and I've always thoroughly enjoyed listening to him!! He's got an easy, deep and sensual voice which really fit well for this character and helps make Killian come to life. It also made him sound absolutely enticing too.

But it is the first time I've listened to Josie and I loved her range when it came to the characters, bringing out their differing personalities, with the ease you want in a narrator. Even her Killian was as enticing, albeit in a very different way.

Between them both, their expertise and fluid flow made this a very enjoyable book to listen and read to and a brilliant choice for the characters!! I really believe that they truly did justice to Rina and her characters.

So the all important question. Would I recommend??
Absolutely, without a shadow of doubt in me!!

Excellent!

This audiobook is an addictive, dark and twisted listen. The narration made this story fantastic!!!! I loved everything about it. The characters are enigmatic and the writing is excellent. This series is going to be amazing! I can’t wait to read about all the other couple’s stories coming up. I didn’t think it could happen but I think the heirs are going to blow the Royal Elite series away. This is the best book from this author and I loved it.

Amazing, dark and twisted!

What an incredibly dark, twisted romance! Rina Kent giving us the next generation of deliciously dark personalities. Glyndon goes to Royal Elite University to visit the place her friend Devlin died. Running into Killian was by chance, and now she has become his obsession. Killian sees a kindred spirit in Glyndon, but his approach is rough and bullyish. It's hard to like this man, but with his upbringing, we can fully understand where he is coming from. Kent takes us on their journey as she takes us out of our comfort zones and keeps us on the edge. Romantic suspense like this is the best! It's one of those things you just can't stop listening too, because no matter how devious it becomes, we need to find out how it ends. Killian is incredibly depraved, and his approach to Glyndon is rough and aggressive. Glyndon doesn't back down though. She shows just how much backbone she has, and it's fantastic! Plus we get cameos from Astrid, Levi and Asher, older, wiser and so much fun to hear their point of views! I am loving this start to the new series and can't wait for more.

The narration of this book is stellar. Sebastian York brings out the darkness in Killian with a slight evilness, giving him that edgy feel. Josie Minor brings in an emotionally driven performance as Glyndon. She deals with each feeling ,creating an incredible character. Cameos by Kylie Stewart Aaron Shedlock and Wen Ross fill out the narration, bringing their characters back, making the story perfect!

God of Malice

It's crazy, it's sick, but it's ohhh soooo good.
I couldn't stop listening (of course, not just because of the story, also because of the narration).

While listening, I was like: what the heck?
But the story is just awsome.

It contains topics like depression, suicide, killing wishes,... but if you are not sensible to those, then this book is definitely worth reading/listening to.

A solid start to second Gen

I've now read most if not all the RE/Mafia world books that RK has released and I've mostly enjoyed them all. Now when I heard we were getting the kids stories I was excited. And I enjoyed the dynamic between Glyndon and Killian. Killian isn't a hero by any stretch, but he's that perfect trope of I hate everyone but you. I cannot wait to see what the rest of this series brings to the table. This kept my hooked and even though Killian won't be for everyone, he and Glyn knocked my socks off. I volunteered to read and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Ruthless and Dark!!!

I was for sure on the fence about this book until the middle. HOLY SMOKES. This is not your average Bully romance. This is dark, this is dirty and it’s so brilliant. Rina Kent always out does herself with the next book and she did not disappoint.
Killian is ruthlessly manipulative – Rina threw the entire book at him and I loved it. The way he got under Glyndon’s’ skin and possessed her. It was wild to hear their chemistry unfold as they found inner peace with each other.
I loved all the cameos that Rina added in there to combine the worlds. It was fantastically written – another Rina Kent win for me.
The audio was great – It was a little less believable for me that SebYo was a 19 year old. That was for sure hard to get over considering he probably shouldn’t narrate for a Hero under the age of 45.
Kylie Stewart was great! I honestly hope we hear more from her.
Excited for the next generation of Rina Kent!

Dark Romance Brilliantly Done~Great Story & Listen

Rina Kent blew me away with another amazing story, a dark romance that is thrilling and chilling, one that gives you goosebumps, monsters and depravity will do that to you. The story grabbed me like no other and, as twisted as it was, I could not pull myself away from it. The world building is phenomenal, the complexity of the characters and their growth is too. These characters are second generation from Kent’s earlier series and she brings those worlds together seamlessly. This book stand’s on its own, but if you already enjoyed those series, seeing those characters again will be like seeing an old friend. Glyndon King attends Royal Elite University, her brothers Landon and Brandon do as well. Glyndon is heartbroken that her friend, Devlin, committed suicide and is struggling to understand why. She visits the location where it happened and runs into one student from The King’s University, not just any student though, it was Killian Carson. We get a glimpse of Killian’s depravity, and that is just the start of it because Glyndon becomes his obsession. Glyndon, an innocent with her own inner darkness, something Killian senses and why she becomes his prey. And when Glyndon gets it in her head to find out what drove Devlin to suicide, it places her in the lion’s den, or rather Killian’s den. Loved that Glyndon does not back down from Killian, is she just as crazy as him or does she see something else in him? This romantic suspense may take some out of their comfort zone, but that is the thrill of the ride and the payoff at the end is so worth it. This brilliantly plotted story has plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, mystery, heartfelt emotions and romance that is dark and twisted. Rina Kent, thank you for another amazing story and a wild and thrilling emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration and lineup of talent, Sebastian York & Josie Minor performed the roles of the two lead characters and most of the secondary characters with Aaron Shedlock, Wen Ross and Kylie Stewart jumping in to cover the roles of the parents and grandparent. These entertaining storytellers are exceptional at what they do and it is always a pleasure to listen to their performances. Thank you for another amazing listen.

I love this psychopath, absolutely fantastic!

Killian and Glyndon's story was brilliant, I loved it so much that I stayed up all night reading it. Glyndon is an artist, with a heavy past and a difficult family. Killian is a Psychopath, now the story will have you hooked from the very first chapter. I was on edge most of the time, the story had me on a wild ride. I love anti-heroes, I do not have triggers, but beware because this is not a book for everyone. The narration by Sebastian York, Josie Minor, Aaron Shedlock, Wen Ross and Kylie Stewart was way more than I expected, it was brilliant! Definitely get this in audiobook, it is so worth it, they all did a great job portraying their characters, they truly gave life to each of them in a fantastic way.
