Before Miss Peregrine gave them a home, the story of peculiars was written in the Tales. Wealthy cannibals who dine on the discarded limbs of peculiars. A fork-tongued princess. These are but a few of the truly brilliant stories in Tales of the Peculiar - the collection of fairy tales known to hide information about the peculiar world, including clues to the locations of time loops - first introduced by Ransom Riggs in his number-one best-selling Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series.

His band was one of the loudest and heaviest out there, and they had moved from one hit record to the next with ease. Publisher's Summary
First kiss.
If done right, it left an impression to last a lifetime, or in Annani’s case, millennia. Five thousand years, give or take a few hundred.
Age was meaningless to a goddess. But even after all these years, and all that Annani had witnessed, the fire that first kiss had ignited at the tender age of 17 still burned hot in her heart.
After all, it was the most important kiss of all times, affecting the destiny of gods, immortals, and humans, and altering the course of history.
When gods and immortals still ruled the ancient world, one young goddess risked everything for love.
Promised to the power-hungry god Mortdh, the young Annani is determined to find a way out of the prearranged political union that would one day put Mortdh on the throne.
Even though Khiann is the son of a merchant and not a member of the leading circle, the handsome young god is a much more appealing choice. Now all she has to do is convince him that she is worth chancing an all-out civil war over succession and, possibly, his very life.

Love the book. But the second book is missing
I loved the book, the story and the Narrator.
What I'm disappointed is that Audible doesnt have the continuation of this book. Which means I will be missing the main part, main action and consequences of this story. I wish Audible will be correcting this soon. I dont read books I only listen to them. So I really do hope the second book will be available soon.
As for listening to this book before the rest of the series without the second book available I feel like it is not worth the credit. Since its incomplete and you still dont get the full origins of the series. Dont get me wrong I enjoyed the book. But it is not the full story so if I would of read a review like this. I would have saved the credit. Now if the second book comes available then it is more than worth the credit to complete the story.

I Think Some Things Were Missing
I actually read this book and wanted to give it a try on Audible so that I could hear the correct pronunciations of some of the names. There seemed to be some scenes missing from the Audible version. (Like the fortune teller and Areana asking to stay for Annani's ceremony. Is it me or were those not in this version?))
The narrator's voice was rather pleasant, but it was a little odd to hear him do female voices.
I have another free book, so I guess I'd be willing to at least give this one more try.

Interesting
This is an interesting storyline if you are into the Gods, immortals, and humans. The caste system sucks as shown in this book. The narrator did a good job with characters; but would add to the book if a female narrator was brought aboard for female characters. I will listen to the series in full after finishing the multitude of books I already need to get through. This series has a lot of books; wish it came in boxed sets of three or four books!

I enjoyed the book!
I really enjoyed the characters. I will be continuing the series. The narrator was easy to listen to. I have now finished up to book 26. I am sad only because I have enjoyed the series so much and the 26th book is not available on Audible yet. If you would like a good series to listen to, I recommend this one. I have purchased the Kindle version of the book 26. I might have to take time off work, just so I can take time to read the next books.
This series is a win I T Lucas please keep them coming. I think you are one of my favorite authors.

Good start, but…
This was a good start to a new series however like other reviewers mentioned we’re missing the second half of the origin story. There should be one more book between book 0.5 and book 1. This book leaves you on a cliff hanger and then book 1 picks up somewhere totally different. Talk about confusing…

Perseverance pays off
This is a great series and worth persevering through the first few books.
Book 0.5 Goddess’s Choice - This is a prequel and introduces the young Goddess Annani, establishing the mythology back story for the series.
Book 1 Dark Stranger: The Dream - Jumps forward in time to pave the way for the protagonist couple’s modern day romance.
Book 2 Dark Stranger: Revealed - Continues to acquaint you with the many characters that tweak your interest so you look forward to their evolving stories in the books to come.
Book 3 Dark Stranger: Immortal - I must admit that half way through I thought I was done with this series because the love story between Syssi and Kian felt too drawn out but the romantic saga finished strong enough, tempting me to go for one more.
I am glad I persisted as I am currently listening to book ten and now that the overly drawn out introduction is over, I'm thoroughly enjoying the series. I’m not sure if I have adjusted to the writer’s style or maybe it is the change in direction I believe the writer took - but I am finding the descriptive style draws me in. The story continues to unfold with the right amount of romance, suspense and intrigue. The evolving, well developed characters have snagged my interest, enough to look forward to each and every Mortal and Immortal's story. I love a book that can make you feel like you’re watching a mini-series and you don't want to miss a single episode.
I have fingers crossed that readers will eventually be privy to what happened to the characters that I. T. Lucas drew you to engage with in the prequel.
At the completion of book two I would have given a 2-3 star rating but now I happily give this series 5 stars all round. I am earnestly invested in every single (new and old) character and will happily see this series through to the end.

UGH !!
Did not enjoy this story, in all honesty NOTHING happened... There was no action, no build up, just the 2 main characters sneaking around to be with each other. When there were obstacles they were over come with too much ease. It was so boring and could not wait till it ended and don't really want to her about a 17 year old losing her virginity.
Annani has been promised to another since her birth. The one she's been promised to is HER FIRST COUSIN. I know this about GODS & the author never lets you forget that, but it seemed like a bit of an ick factor that we're just suppose to accept as an everyday thing...
