Publisher's Summary
From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Aleron Kong comes Awakening, book one of God's Eye, the long-awaited second series of the Labyrinth Universe!
Discover a unique new world seen from the perspective of a newly born god in a breathtaking saga of divine proportions.
Telos is a world at the center of a Universe. A bright jewel wrapped in a Lattice of realities. It is a world that gods and demons call home at the beginning of a new age. Remy is a newly risen deity, struggling to survive in a Battle Royale where the consequences are worse than death and last longer than damnation.
He will find that he cannot live with his tribe of worshippers. Their strength is his, and his is theirs. Other tribes want nothing more than to feast upon their flesh and consume their power. It is a deadly race of technology and power, faith and corruption, of commoners and legends.
Gods of ancient pantheons and demons of forbidden nightmares compete in a timeless game where the stakes are the souls of every living being. These old forces will come to fear a newly risen god.
His name will become a curse on their lips. His name will be a chant in the mouths of the faithful. His name will be carved in time.
Zero Fell, Zero Fell, ZERO FELL!
My friends, this book is five years in the making. Set in the same Universe as The Land, I hope you enjoy this new world with new magics. New friends to cheer for and new enemies to hate.
As always, I wish you a wonderful life!
Peace, love, and the perfect margarita,
Aleron Kong

It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Tricked into a world of banished gods, demons, goblins, sprites and magic, Richter must learn to meet the perils of The Land and begin to forge his own kingdom. Actions have consequences across The Land, with powerful creatures and factions now hell-bent on Richter's destruction. tiresome
The long scene in the tree. Yawn. Narrator's voices are cartoonish. All the amazing achievements feel cheap. The battles are poorly drawn. What happened to you, Aleron? I still listen to it like crack, but after a while you just start to hate it. There comes a time when the author takes readers for granted and breaks the bond with them.

Only book I have ever returned
The author has really dropped off and seriously needs to hire an editor. Not sure if he has alpha beta readers but if he does he needs to find someone out of his cliche. The book was written to target teen boys not sure if that was the intent of the book or not. The book claims to be dark but just found it immature.

Can't wait for more!
Having an opportunity to be part of the early listener group for this book, I was absolutely thrilled with the way the audio turned out for this book. Luke Daniels is a rockstar as usual and the author turned out one of his best books yet.
I was nervous when he announced he was doing a new series, I like many others of his fans simply wanted more of the land. this book did not disappoint however, It is much darker than his previous novels this book kept me engaged the entire time and I cannot wait for more.

a high schoolers essay
The amount of repetition in here is kind of insane, it reminds me of my high school days where you had to turn 3 pages worth of content into 5 pages. A decent editor could have cut 1/3 of this book just on that alone.
The Mc in this is just an edge lord version of the lands Mc. He doesn't give a fudge, and will tell you that over and over and over. Also he's a man of action and does things with gusto, but that is just what is written, and not done. He will ponder every foot step, every action, and sit you down to give you a werthers original and tell you unsolicited life advice.
The author has moved on from his controversial poop chapter of his previous book, and switched to a whole chapter on peeing on an enemy. Truly inspiring. Maybe in the next novel we can have a vomit chapter.
I will not return this audiobook, just so that this review stays up for all time. Hard pass on this book.

Deliciously Violent and Brutal
God’s Eye have already become one of my new favorite series. There is an honest realism in the brutality of a world filled with gods. Do not read this book if you are squeamish or have an aversion to violence. If you have a secret bloodlust that you need to feed then this is definitely a book for you. The intensity starts from the very beginning and rarely gives you a breather. God’s Eye isn’t just filled with violence and gore though. I found myself constantly laughing at humor very much like my own. Aleron has expanded on an already amazing universe with this new series. I didn’t think it was possible but he has created something that is as good as, if not better than, The Land. I am eagerly waiting for more. And as always Luke Daniels was phenomenal in his performance and narration. I was an early listener for this book

Another masterpiece!
God's Eye is a spectacular start to a new series! It immediately sucks you in and never slows down. It's fast paced and such a fun read! I was lucky to be an Early Listener for God's Eye. Luke Daniels does an amazing job bringing the characters to life. He captures the character's voices and the overall flavor of the story flawlessly. I absolutely recommend, and eagerly look forward to the next installment.

Utter tedium
It's got a lot of the childish adolescence of the Land books, with a main character identical to Richter his other books. As such this has nothing to offer his other series doesn't do. Kong would have better used lockdown writing the next land book instead of this rubbish.

A book full of filler
The idea of the story is one I really like and takes me back to playing games like Black&White. This book is so boring and repetitive though that I stopped about half way through. The first quarter of the book is mostly spent in a tree and hiding from a monster. The author clearly saw the mortal enemies idea from book one of Ascend Online and stuck that in there as well. Huge focus on internal monologue and going over the same thoughts and stats. It just really sucked. Luke Daniels is a great narrator but even he couldn't make me finish this.

a great start to a series
I enjoy Alerons style and that this very different book has been interestingly linked to The Land. I will be reading on when the next books are available.
the premise of this book is certainly different and I have not seen the like before. it is quick to get to the main story and will draw you in immediately.
the first chapters are based on a world which is not explored further and it would be amazing for a 3rd series to be set in.

Ignoring Criticism and Doubling Down On A Mistake
Aleron Kong wrote seven books about The Land and did very well to establish a setting, characters, plot, and game system for his LitRPG, leaving book 7 at a point where very exciting things were about to take place and had readers eager for more.
Then he wrote book 8 of The Land, cut off the protagonist from the established setting, the characters, the plot, and essentially wrote a dry essay on the game system.
Then, when he could've written book 9 and, FINALLY, gotten to the good parts, which could've excused the lackluster book 8 content, he instead sat down and REWROTE book 8 of The Land only using a different setting and game system.
The protagonist is a relative of the protagonist from The Land, from the same place, and basically has the same personality as his other protagonist (Kong apparently has the imagination of a potato). The characters are brief and uninspired throw aways who are often killed in short order - easy come, easy go, and forgettable. And the plot is essentially the same as The Land Book 8 - lost man all alone fighting using scant resources or massive contrived advantages.
Kong wrote The Land Book 8 based on lack of ideas or publishing deadlines or some other handicap or even because he genuinely thought that such a book would make a good story, and in all honestly its not unreadable drek.
But God's Eye book 1 cannot be so easily accepted. Faced with writing the next The Land book, and spurred on by wide criticism of The Land book 8 as being a poor effort and not what his readership was expecting or wanted, I really can't see why he thought doubling down on his bad writing and starting a whole new series which is a bad photocopy of his first was a good idea.
Based on what I've seen on his author's website - a meme image - I don't believe the man honestly cares what his readers think and his opinion is something along the lines of "If I shat on a page they would hand over their first born to read it and call it art".
My advice is to stop reading and/or return his books until the quality level improves because its taken a nose dive and this book proves he isn't interested in pulling out of it.

Absolutely worth a go
This book differs enough from Aleron's other series that there's no feeling that this was in any way a "knock off" rehash ands stands on its own merit as a great first book to the series. I have no complaints or criticisms and would absolutely recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the genre. Thank you Aleron for a great book.

Written by a Deity
Aleron is my favourite author. The world building and characterization this man makes just losses yourself in his books. This one is no Exception.
Great performance, Great voices, Enjoyed ever second.

After being disappointed with Monsters, I’m happy to say that this Aleron’s return to form. I can’t wait for the next instalment and for Zero to eventually meet Richter - they are related 😉.

So many Stat's
Had potential however it drowned itself in endless stat chart descriptions. I found myself drifting off bored with the lack of progress with story VS time spent talking about stats.

Great but full of fluff
This story and world are incredible and I truly enjoy the story overall, there’s just so much over explaining and stat updates that it’s hard to really enjoy the story.
Like the book without over explaining every little detail and his thoughts that seem to take 10 minutes to explain yet happen in a second. Would make the book only 12 hours long..
Not complaining about the length, just the amount of useless information instead of advancing the story.
Overall though 4/5 stars would be 10/5 without those small nuances

I want more!
I loved every minute of it, the characters are very well done and the narrator does such a good job portraying MCs personality. I can't wait for the next book!

great story idiotic mc
enjoyable and unique story
sadly mc is an idiot literally the last fight against the ogres he literally had a op beast to use yet he waits till the end of the fight and only after his followers are pretty much slaughtered and his 3 acolytes wrecked 2 died just to use it to save the last one and pretty much waste the ability he let everyone die
literally it's a bear eagle thing with a special attack stun tanky fker yet he uses it at the end instead of with his army
it does have a 7 minute or maybe more now use time but still a battle be over in that time

Better than The Land....
Early days, and it’s a big call as The Land holds the number one spot for LITRPG titles for me and I’ve listened to a lot!
Great making for a really diverse world, love the civ elements, good dynamic power ups too, lots of room to grow!
Ps it does not hammer you with too many stats if your familiar with the genre
Thanks Alaron and Luke

Brutally good
This book is awesome, a bit more gritty then Alerons other series which Luke Daniels pulls off effortlessly. A great listen with a wonderful fantasy world that kept me listening nonstop bouncing in my seat waiting in anticipation to see what was next.

I love this book!
What a great job of Nick narrating this title and Aleron writing it!
I live the idea of VRMMORPG itself and consider this book plus The Land series one of my favourite.
Looking forward to the next book!
