Publisher's Summary

A jaw-dropping novel of psychological suspense that asks: If the love of your life disappeared without a trace, how far would you go to find out why?

Hannah Monroe's boyfriend, Matt, is gone. His belongings have disappeared from their house. Every call she ever made to him, every text she ever sent, every photo of him has been wiped from her phone. His social media accounts have vanished. It's as though their last four years together never happened.

There had been no warning signs, not a one. And as Hannah struggles to get through the next few days, with humiliation and recriminations whirring through her head, she knows that she'll do whatever it takes to find him again and get answers.

Then the messages start - cryptic and creepy texts and videos - and Hannah realizes that someone is watching her every move. And there are signs that someone has been in her house.

Step by suspenseful step, Hannah is being led into a maze of madness and obsession - and her only way out is to come face to face with the shocking truth.

A struggle to get through

The first 4 hours and kept thinking I need to return this book. Stuck with it to see how it played out. Wasn't that bad at end but overall feel like It wasted precious time.

So Excellent!

Finally, a suspense thriller I was completely taken in by. I did not suspect what was next to come, and the story unfolded in a manner I found believable.

Waste of time

I couldn’t get into it even after listening for 4 hours into the book. The story was boring. I feel like not only I wasted my money I also wasted my precious time. I don’t recommend this book at all.

Good but not great.

I wanted a bit more, and there were times that I thought something big was going to happen, but then, it didn’t.
There were some loose ends that seemed a bit rushed, to tie up.
Overall, it was entertaining, and the narration was fantastic. But the story, in general, was a bit lacking.

Gone...

If you could sum up Gone Without a Trace in three words, what would they be?

Thought provoking thriller.

What did you like best about this story?

The premise was different from the start. I loved that it didn't go in the direction I first had in mind. I figured out part of it early on, but there were twists that I didn't see coming. I find many books anyone toward the end, but this one was interesting to the last word.

What does Emily Pennant-Rea bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration was perfect for the character. She had a natural rhythm and never broke the flow of the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were several moments that were touching. As Hannah searched for Matt and remembered how much she loved him. Katie, trying to help her best friend move on with her life.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. It isn't the typical cookie cutter read and is worth a credit.

This one just gets better...

Several hours into this book I was still asking myself what was happening. I wasn't sure if it was good or bad but I knew I hadn't figured it out yet and for me that's always a bonus. The interesting twist made it a good book ,and the narration was spot on.

Good read

Overall this book kept my attention & if a book doesn’t move fast enough or has too many confusing characters & events, I lose interest.

Save your credit

This book has 63 chapters. The story moved nowhere for 61 of them. Chapters 62 and 63 delivered a slapped-together finish with loose ends. The narrator was great. I hope to hear her again.

Without a Trace

I didn’t think there was a believable story line. To go through complete disappearance, wiping out photos , emails and texts I felt like the story should have been much more fitting to all that. The ending was weak.
