Publisher's Summary

At the core of Christianity is belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But how should the Gospel affect our lives after we believe? And how can we speak Gospel truths into everyday issues of life? In this book, experienced pastor and speaker Jeff Vanderstelt shows how all people - Christians and non-Christians alike - need to hear the Gospel on a regular basis. Teaching believers what it looks like to become truly "fluent" in the Gospel so that it becomes a natural part of our everyday conversations, Vanderstelt shows how the good news of Jesus is our only hope for every aspect of our lives.

Applicable, accurate, and challenging

Using scripture throughout, the author outlines, albeit slowly, the idea of gospel fluency. The real life examples are the most compelling, and I found myself in tears more than once as I felt the truth in what I heard. Test for yourself, pray for truth and wisdom, and see what you take away.

Change the way you see the world

Vanderstelt does a great job of articulating our need as Christians to experience the gospel in our daily life. Or struggle is to translate that into the way we talk about what Jesus has done for us.

My favorite element of this book is the constant reminder that all the good we have in our lives is because of Jesus. A moral instruction without Jesus cannot save our friends. We have been changed not because we are good but because Jesus is good.

This book and his other one (Saturate) have literally changed the way I parent my children. No longer do I seek to simply correct for the sake of good behavior. While I still love, discipline and correct, it is through the lens of what Jesus did for me/them and what He continues to do for me/them.

Vanderstelt reads well - his story comes alive and his winsome way makes this an easy listen.

A Must Read!

Gospel Fluency is a must read for every believer! Jesus redeemed us, but he also wants to sanctify us. Sanctification happens as we become fluent in the truths of the gospel. We become fluent in the truths of the gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit and by immersing ourselves in gospel centered community. This book will be a great introduction and help for those that do not yet have it. It will also be a great encouragement for those of us that do. Gospel Fluency class is now in session!

Everyone in your church should read.

This is a great companion to Saturate. I highly recommend. Saturate is captivating with its stories, while this is convicting with it's great analogies. Read them both.

I am thinking about and talking about Jesus more and more now.

Best training on sharing the Good News

Gospel fluency is the lost key for evangelism in the church today. Christians give people lots of advice and kind acts, but we don't give people Jesus, who is the love and power of God for salvation and sanctification. Gospel fluency shows us how to incorporate the Good News of Jesus into the everyday stuff of life.

Great Follow-Up to Saturate

Jeff first book, Saturate, addressed the root issue of ineffective church government. In Gospel Fluency he addresses the root issue of ineffective Christians.

Learning to love people as Jesus does

This volume was very helpful for me in a number of ways. It is encouraging to have a kindred spirit with those who are followers of Jesus that want to invite others to become followers. There is no greater message than the good news of Jesus. Jeff does a fantastic job articulating the truths of the gospel and the need to become fluent so that we remember that Jesus is better than anything and everything. This book is so practical!

I know in the latest chapters, Jeff touches on having a motive of love for people in gospel proclamation and the one critique of the book I have is that I wish this theme was throughout the entire book. Motive for being gospel fluent must be that of love otherwise gospel proclamation can just become duty. I highly recommend this book.
