Story
It took seven years until I was sure I was over my high school boyfriend, Luke - and just one night to realize how wrong I was. Not even one night, really. It was honestly more like five minutes of conversation at our high school reunion that made it clear I'd never gotten over him in the first place. And if the conversation by itself wasn't enough, the fact that I invited him back to my hotel room, dragged him into bed, and then had a panic attack in the middle of the, uh, festivities took care of any lingering doubts.

Story
Though I was born with the ability to see the dead, I struggled with it until my brother was killed and his ghost was left behind. Now, I’m determined to figure out who is responsible for his death…the problem is that Detective Maddox Booker, the one working the case, is a grumpy and stubborn man who wants nothing to do with me and definitely doesn’t believe in ghosts. It doesn’t help that I keep finding myself looking ridiculous in front of the detective, thanks to interfering ghosts who enjoy laughing at my expense.

It was supposed to be a prank. A silly frat boy dare. One hot moment in a hidden storage closet. One kiss. No consequences. But if you get that close to a man with fire in his eyes, you’re gonna get burned, and I was no exception. One taste of Grey Blackwood ruined me for life. The way Grey sees it, I was the one who did the ruining. I humiliated him. Wrecked his life. Destroyed his future.

Story
Five years ago, I walked away from Sunbury, Oregon, and left my best friend behind. The move was supposed to get my life on track. I even had a list: Life changing epilepsy surgery. Check. See the world. Check. Get over my straight best friend... Not exactly. No matter where I go or who I meet, I can't let Tanner go. I'm back to tell him how I feel. To get the closure I need once and for all. Only now I'm here and falling for him all over again, it's getting harder to say the words. Because once I have my closure, I'll be gone. And this time it will be for good.

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary. A chance to gain some work experience, to have some fun. I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types, or to find purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm. And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude - I’ve never been one to put down roots.

Publisher's Summary
Who auditions for an adult film without realizing it? Me, apparently....
Gray: I’m not the kind of guy you take home to meet your mother. I’m an ex-adult film star with a GED and a giant co...llection of movie credits I can’t talk about in polite company. I might be good at helping other guys get their happy endings, but I’ve more or less given up on finding one of my own.
Until Tyler Lang walks into my life.
That’s right, my co-star for my final film is Tyler Lang-America's heartthrob, until he disappeared from the radar last year. Tyler's got a reputation for being a bad boy, a partier, and apparently straight, but the sweet, vulnerable-looking kid who shows up at auditions is completely different. And now that I'm getting to know him, I can’t help wondering what it is that’s made his eyes so sad-and wishing there were some way I could make it better.
I’m not supposed to get a happy ending. So why the hell won’t my heart listen?
“I’m yours. In whatever way, for however long you want me. Just say the words and you’ll have me forever.”
Tyler: I know what you’ve heard about me. Another spoiled child-actor, all grown up and out of control. I wish I could tell you you’re wrong, but the truth is, I’m a little bit of a mess. Okay, so maybe I'm a giant mess. And now, after getting arrested with an ez-bake oven’s worth of drugs I don’t even remember buying, I'm washed-up at the grand old age of 21.
After a year of rehab and community service, all I want is to work again. So when my agent sends me a new script, maybe I don’t read the fine print as carefully as I should. Which is how I end up auditioning for an adult film. A high-brow, literary adult film. But still. There’s no way I can go through with this. After all, I'm so deep in the closet I'm not sure I'll ever find my way out. And I wouldn’t do this movie-except for one thing: Gray Evans.
Strong, kind, and honest, Gray makes me feel seen in a way I’ve never been before-and makes me want to be better. And somehow, around Gray, everything seems possible. Like maybe there’s a world where I’m not a total screw-up. Maybe there’s a world where I can come out, and not tank my career. And maybe, just maybe, there’s a world where Gray, who’s smart and brave and so together, could want someone like me.
Gray For You is Book 2 in the 8 Million Hearts series. While each book can be listened to on its own, they're even more fun to listen together. Gray For You is a m/m romance full of snark, sweetness, and a healthy serving of steam. Movie star romance and hurt/comfort themes. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.

Started out good but dragged at the end
Narration- fantastic, full of emotion and acting! Give Michael Fell a BIG Gold Star on this one.
Plot-I feel like this book was better, at first, then book #1. Tyler and Gray are really likable, and I could suspend my belief enough for the " I auditioned to a porno without realizing it" to work, until it stopped working. I think it was a bit strange for them to film it as they did, and Tyler to be good at getting physical with a dude. Also, Tyler's dad? that is one very over the top douchebag, and he was so much like Adam's father from book #1, I was hoping for some variety. He was so extreme, and evil, yet very obvious at what he did, that I was thinking "how can they not see it?!" when the characters are as blind as there were I find it hard to relate to them.
I enjoyed the characters, but the last 4 hours of the book were too much.

An Actor’s Heart
Gray For You is the second book in the 8 Million Hearts series, a contemporary series featuring an interesting cast of characters. This book could be read as a standalone, but I really suggest reading all the books in this series in order for maximum enjoyment.
I really adore Gray – not only is he an interesting character, but I found him really likeable and sexy. I loved his attitude about this porn star past and the sweetness with which he treated Tyler. There was a lot of drama in this book which I thoroughly enjoyed, plus the sex scenes were delicious.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Fell. Michael has a really nice voice, but his performance can be a little stiff at times. Once he gets a feel for the characters, the performance quality really improves. Overall, I enjoyed listening to this book and following along with the story.

Why on Earth was this story so bloody LONG?
This novel, which had a plausible enough storyline, would have scored much higher on the rating scale if it wasn't so exhaustively LONG and DRAWN-OUT! There was so much of it that I felt frankly overwhelmed by it all. There was a whole lot of extra talking, which made this story truly tedious, and way too much plot details I didn't need. The characters' lives are exposed to us in excruciating detail...well, I found it excruciating after a while. Tyler is unspeakably petulant sometimes, which is an ironically good point in a story about a twenty-one-year-old. He was as immature as I expected him to be, unable to see how much of a terrible person his dad was and making excuses for him by adding to his own weight of guilt. And Gray, who is older and should be smarter, isn't exactly brilliant either, beginning with his talking about who his co-star will be in the movie even after they'd been warned not to say anything until it was firm, and continuing through his hanging on for so long to a hopeless thing with Ethan, his ex. Pitiful! I'm tired of characters who disappoint me with their tiresome predictability. The narrator's performance was fine.
I really need to stop volunteering to read stories about new adults who are still not ready to be over themselves and their need to be the center of attention, especially when they're not even aware they're doing it. I really wanted to like this more, because I thought I'd like the characters more, because I thought the plot would have been more engaging, more deeply worked out. They were fine when they weren't being foolish, when they thought, spoke, and acted like grown-ups. I just wish they'd been allowed to do that without dragging their story out interminably. The movie scenes being acted out were a clever narrative strategy as they represented what was also happening in real life between them That was the saving grace in this story.

4.5-starred second in a series
Gray for You is the second audiobook in Spencer Spears's 8 Million Hearts series. I really liked getting to know both Gray and Tyler. The idea of an adult film star--Gray--and a washed-up former child actor--Tyler--working together was intriguing, especially given how Tyler had no idea what sort of film he had been set to audition for. My heart went out to both these guys, and while they may have had an honest-to-goodness connection, getting past all their insecurities and hangups was far easier said than done. Once again, Michael Fell does a fantastic job as narrator, and Spears's writing has made an impression on me twice over with this series. My lone quibble would be the same one I had with the first audiobook--it's just much too long, especially given that this second book is five hours longer! So, four stars for the story and five stars for the narration, which comes out to 4.5 stars for Gray for You as a whole. ♥

When happily ever after becomes reality
So .. didn’t have to wait too long for second book in the series and god knows I was so ready for Gray’s book. And expectations were met!
Gray is an ex adult film actor who has practically given up on finding love. He’s used to being the supporting character in others’ love story. After all .. who would want to bring an ex adult film star with just a GED home? To say Tyler’s life is a mess would be an understatement. He’s a bit broken, naive and quite cynical about life. And oh, don’t forget the deep closet. When Tyler and Gray have to work together for a project, Gray found himself unable to not care about alleged spoiled child star who has the saddest eyes he’s ever seen. Tyler wants to believe in Gray but life has taught him to be suspicious. What will happen when they finally succumb to their desires and yearning for love?
Sweet, sexy and utterly romantic. Gray is literally the best boyfriend material. Loved him. I think the only downside of this book was that it’s a bit too long. And it took a long time for both MCs to be brave for themselves and not let others walk over them. This was not as angsty as I thought it was going to be. Sweet and spicy with just the right about of heat. This series is a lovely listen. Looking forward to third book in the series now.

The length of this audio might freak you out but honestly the story moved at a really good pace. Michael Fell did a great job with this audio. I was sucked into the story from the very beginning. I loved both characters. Gray and Tyler are characters you are really rooting for to get their lives together. The end is the HEA you want too,

Slow Burn Love
This slow-burn, emotional story of coming out and finding love is a great addition to the 8 Million Hearts Series! Though it truly is a slow-burn, the chemistry between Gray and Tyler is hot!! I absolutely loved the way the helped each other heal from their rocky pasts.
Michael Fell did a great job with Tyler & Gray! The emotions that he is able to covey through his voicing these characters, truly makes this story even better! Great listen!!

A Great Book
This is the second book in The 8 Million Hearts Series. You will want to read/listen to the first book before this one. A wonderful book with good writing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable The characters were developed and thought out. Tyler and Gray are the MC’s of this book. The narration was good and enjoyable. I can recommend this book as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

A good story
A good story and well read with appropriate voices. The book does almost stall at times from dwelling on an issue. It is good entertainment overall.

The relationship angst got a little tiring
The underlying story here was engaging, but the angst, hiding true feelings, and *he could never feel like I do* inner conversations just wore me out. Seventeen hours of that was just too much. I had my suspicions about the cocaine found in Tyler's car from the start, although I must admit even my suspicious self didn't see how bad it was. That said, I was disappointed not to see how that part of the story turned out. As long as the story way, I would have thought there would be space for closure or an epilogue about that. Justice definitely felt under-served. In summary, I loved the story and the characters of Tyler and Gray, but it just went on a bit too long.
The narration was great, and the emotional parts were very swell voiced.
I am still looking forward to Nick's and Lucas's stories, but I hope the author doesn't drag them out as long as this one.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Slow burn
Great book 2 in the 8 millions hearts series, it’s a long one and it takes you on one hell of a roller coaster. It totally worth the time as this is a fantastic story. I was intrigued by Gray when we met him in book one and I loved getting to know him. Tyler is a new character and was adorable, very misguided and definitely needed his hand held but so sweet.
It’s a major slow burn in terms of the romance but so worth the wait, their developing relationship is very addictive I didn’t want to stop listening.

another great story
When you have a porn star as the one of the leads, you are never sure what you will get.
This story was amazing to listen to and hard for me to put down. Yes they are long reads/listens but honestly you never feel bored or that the story is dragging. Not sure if the other books in this series are in audible yet or not but I'm not gonna be able to wait for more if they aren't.

Fantastic
Spears's second book in the 8 Million Hearts series, Gray for You is brilliantly written. I found Gray and Tyler to be witty, angsty, and delightfully readable. I enjoyed the story and found myself gripped by the book within this book. Spears truly has a talent for writing. Fell's narration is enthralling and engaging.

Gray’s time for ❤️
In the first book, Gray sounded way older and washed up. But listening to his story, he was just being help up by a selfish lover.
I loved his happily ever after. After going back to acting, in a movie with a spoiled child actor... I never though their story would be so heart wrenching. I cried while they cried and smiled when they were happy. Micah is just hilarious and I would like to read his story next. They are many characters that deserve being next though. Great narration too!

Wow, what a roller-coaster!
This is such an in-depth, emotive and passionate story. I loved Gray from book one and wanted to know more about him. He’s such a dynamic and lovable character, I fell hard! He’s kind, caring, sweet and funny. I’ll admit to quite a few “spit-takes” from the unexpected moments of humor Spencer has injected into this story.
Tyler was just fantastic! A little broken and bruised but so strong and compassionate. I feel like these two will stay with me for a while. They’re just perfect together and while a lot of the story has them not admitting their feelings, I’m so glad they finally got there in the end!
I’m loving this series, these wonderful, lovable and somewhat broken men and can’t wait for more!!!
Thanks for reading!
